The ” Avatar: The Last Airbender” live-action series at Netflix has cast three key roles, with production on the series now underway. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (“Kim’s Convenience,” “The Mandalorian”) will play Uncle Iroh, a retired Fire Nation general and the wise and nurturing mentor to his hot-headed nephew, Prince Zuko.

Paramount Plus has released the first trailer for the live-action ” Halo ” series. The show is expected to debut on the streamer in 2022. Pablo Schreiber stars as the iconic Master Chief from the long-running and beloved Xbox video game series.

Marvel’s comic book epic ” Eternals ” is once again dominating domestic box office charts. In its second weekend of release, the superhero adventure has collected a leading $27.5 million from 4,090 North American theaters. Through Sunday, “Eternals” crossed the $100 million mark in the U.S.

Disney Plus is celebrating its second anniversary on Friday with Disney Plus Day, a morning full of looks at upcoming shows and films for its streaming service. Disney is also releasing new titles for subscribers to watch right now, such as “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and “Jungle Cruise.”

Marvel’s ” Eternals” achieved global domination at the box office. The latest entry in the MCU picked up $90.7 million internationally, which pushes its global total to a lordly $161.7 million. The film opened in several major markets, picking up $14.4 million in South Korea, $7.1 million in the United Kingdom, $6.7 million in France, $5.7 million in Mexico, $5 million in Australia and $4.6 million in Italy.

” No Time to Die,” the latest entry in the James Bond series, will be available to rent for $19.99 on digital platforms in the U.S. starting on Tuesday. An MGM representative confirmed the news to Variety. The 007 blockbuster will be available on all major platforms, including Amazon, Apple, Xfinity, DirecTV, Spectrum and Vudu.

Marvel Studios’ ” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will temporarily shut down production while actor Letitia Wright recovers from an on-set injury she suffered in August, Variety has confirmed. Production will pause starting the week of Thanksgiving and start back up in early 2022.

Stranger Things fans may still have to do some waiting before Season 4 of the popular supernatural series lands at Netflix, but the streamer provided a welcome update on its premiere date. During its Stranger Things Day event on Saturday, Netflix revealed that the series starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp will make its debut in Summer 2022.

Years ago, filmmaker Denis Villeneuve had agreed to adapt ” Dune,” Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel, under one condition: the sweeping saga about warring political dynasties that clash over access to a vital planet could not be confined to only one movie.

Denis Villeneuve is officially returning to Arakis. The filmmaker’s dream of completing his two-part series is becoming a reality, with Legendary and Warner Bros. on Tuesday announcing they are moving ahead with a sequel that will hit theaters Oct. 20, 2023. The first Dune opened in cinemas and hit HBO Max simultaneously on Oct.

Image Comics has informed comic book retailers that they will no longer be publishing second, third, fourth printings of any title as a result of the printing and distribution issues of which Bleeding Cool has been running extensive coverage of late. When we first approached Image Comics about this issue, they stated that Image hadn’t been affected.

Scarlett Johansson and Disney have reached a settlement over her blockbuster lawsuit that accused the studio of sabotaging the theatrical release of ” Black Widow ” to prop up Disney Plus. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Johansson had sought a $50 million payout from the studio.

Marvel filed five lawsuits on Friday seeking to block the heirs of comic book creators from reclaiming copyrights to many of its most popular characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. The move comes after heirs of five Marvel authors filed dozens of termination notices with the U.S.

Russell T. Davies, the veteran screenwriter who is credited with helping to revive ” Doctor Who ” in 2005, will take over from current showrunner Chris Chibnall. Davies will return to the long-running series in 2023, which also happens to be the show’s 60th anniversary.
