  • EP.144: Hitting Rock Bottom

Here at the Manipura Centre, we believe that all goals are achieved in the same way. With your brain. It doesn't matter if you're striving for physical, mental, or financial wellness - your brain is pretty much running the show.

And if you don't learn how to manage your brain, it can keep you from achieving your highest potential, which is what you're meant to do while you're here on this planet.

On this week's episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine explains why some of us don't create change in our lives until we hit "rock bottom." We often see this in our clients, but it's not only related to making changes in our health. Listen in to why this happens to all of us who have a human brain.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
    • The 3 functions of the brain involved in your day-to-day life.
    • What it means to "hit rock bottom".
    • The definition of Ego vs Higher Self.
    • Christine's "Rock Bottom" story and how she overcame it.

  • EP.143: High Quality Thoughts

Sometimes when we see people behaving out of character, our first instinct is to judge what's happening on the surface. Did you watch the 2022 Oscars last weekend? What were your thoughts about how Will Smith reacted towards Chris Rock? It was totally out of character for how he conducts himself publicly, that's for sure.

But it's not an unusual reaction, especially when a person is having a trauma response.

On this week's episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine provides a neuroscience perspective on Will's actions, because most of us will judge the event based on what we see happening on the surface. She also talks about how you can start cultivating higher quality thoughts, so you're not just reacting to triggers, but taking action towards what you desire in your life and career as a dietitian.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
    • Why the Oscar "slap down" had little to do with defending Jada Pinkett-Smith.
    • The sequence of brain events that happened for Will as a result of the inappropriate joke.
    • The importance of being more trauma-sensitive by not casting jokes on other people's insecurities.
    • Two ways to think higher-quality thoughts of your own, so you can experience more positive results in life & work.

  • EP.141: Certainty

According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, the word certainty (noun) is defined as the state of being completely confident or having no doubt about something. Certainty is an emotional state, not an intellectual one. To feel certain, your brain must filter out more [uncertain] information than it processes.

Oftentimes, we’re afraid to focus on the certainty of our goals becoming a reality because they feel so unattainable. It may feel unrealistic to have 100% certainty in anything because life is so unpredictable.

On this week’s episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine talks about the miraculous gift associated with having certainty and how to use this emotion to usher in what you desire most for your life.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
    • Why we need both certainty & uncertainty in our lives.
    • How perfectionism breeds uncertainty.
    • An example of how to use certainty in uncertain circumstances.
    • The importance of not attaching to a specific timeframe in which your goals should be achieved, and what you should do instead.

  • EP.140: The Inner Work

As experts in nutrition science, we're trained to be thinkers and doers. And that's perfect when you're in school, completing the internship, and/or landing your 1st job as an RD.

However, becoming an RD entrepreneur comes with a whole new subset of characteristics. Entrepreneurship is like getting a triple advanced degree in personal development, business development, and professional development. The journey isn't for the faint-hearted, that's for sure.

But as doers & thinkers, we tend to enter entrepreneurship thinking all we need is to learn the HOW. But that's far from the truth of what it takes to succeed.

On this week's episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine talks about the importance of doing the inner work on yourself as a business owner, so that you show up in your business (and your life) as the best version of yourself.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
    • Why you need the balance of feminine & masculine energies to build a business.
    • The importance of creating a strong self-concept to succeed as a business owner.
    • Why you shouldn't rely on your job to create happiness & fulfillment in your RD career.
    • How to think when things don't go as planned in your business.

  • EP.139: Validating Thoughts

According to Psychology Today, the term validation is the recognition and acceptance of another person's thoughts, feelings, sensations, and behaviors as understandable.

While there's nothing inherently wrong with the need for validation, or validating someone else's thoughts & feelings, it can become a problem when the reason behind your own need for validation is keeping you stuck or struggling in an area of potential growth.

On this week's episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine talks about how to feel more confident in your business and to make decisions without the need for validation.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
    • The 4 reasons why women seek outside validation of their thoughts & feelings.
    • The main reason why men do not operate in this way.
    • Why constant validation keeps you stuck and how it affects your bottom line results.
    • How to make decisions with confidence.

  • EP.138: Managing Business Owner Burnout

What's your normal course of action when things get super-busy in life and in business? Do you keep on pushing or do you take time to slow down and rest?

In the day and age of trying to keep up with the Joneses, most of us find ourselves in the "keep on pushing" camp. Unfortunately, this is a recipe for significant mental and physical consequences. Something that as health professionals we shouldn't find ourselves falling victim to. Especially since it's 100% preventable.

On this week's episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine talks about how to better manage your time & energy so you can reduce or even eliminate business owner burnout.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
    • The 4 steps to better manage your time & energy to avoid burnout.
    • The importance of celebrating your accomplishments on a regular basis, no matter how big or small.
    • How to adjust your schedule and avoid burnout, even if you're still working a full-time job.
    • Why you need to schedule time off as a recurring event on your calendar, instead of waiting until you feel like you need a vacay.

There's A LOT of noise out there in the online world. What you should do. What you shouldn't be doing. It can be overwhelming and totally distract you from your own wisdom and inner knowing.

Oftentimes, we take the advice of others because we don't trust our own. But as a health professional and small business owner, it's so important that you learn to use your own wisdom and discernment to make decisions about what you want and how you want to service others.

On this week's episode of the Make More Money as a Dietitian Podcast, Christine talks about the importance of becoming your own guru as a way to create a uniquely authentic business that will easily attract the clients you're meant to serve.
