On today’s episode, I’m telling Meg about one of my favorite books of the year, definitely in the top 3 and possibly my book of the year. It’s a dark rom-com between a black cat trauma nurse, and a golden retriever thirst trap creator who is more than a little obsessed with her. It’s a book that asks, what if the obsessed stalker hero is actually so babygirl? We’re talking about Lights Out by Navessa Allen. Spoilers ahead. - An Incomprehensible Number of Books and To-Do ListsHi Smooches! We’ve been truant, and we’re sorry, OK?! Life is just like really really hard. But we have so many books to talk about, including my new MMF short story, And They Were Roommates, and all the very informative and depressing books Meg is reading in her therapy studies. Meg kept getting kicked out of the Zoom meeting, and I kept in every time it happened because it was pretty funny. But that only goes on for the first maybe 10 minutes of the episode so don’t worry about it from an audio perspective, it’s not the whole episode. We’ve got lots and lots of news, including our plans for the summer, so let’s get into it!Subscribe to Liz’s author newsletter: https://stats.sender.net/forms/aK018b/viewAll of Liz’s author links are here: https://linktr.ee/ellediazromanceHighly recommend: Jokes on You Podcast (they’re also on all the audio platforms): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIUwImlNmFE-LPkde4LEaAwBooks Liz mentionedAnd They Were Roommates by Elle DiazSo Hectic by Eve DangerfieldAll Systems Red by Martha WellsThe Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky ChambersButcher and Blackbird by Brynne WeaverA Dowry of Blood by S.T.
