  • Expectations In Life

Enchiridion 4 shows us the actions we need to take in life. Do not be impulsive in what you do. We need to be realistic in our actions and be mindful of what happens. This helps give clarity in the outcomes of our actions and what our expectations are.

  • Manage Thoughts and Feelings

Enchiridion 3 reminds us about the importance of being realistic. We must understand the value of things like externals as indifferents. This gives us clarity in developing our own thoughts in life over time.

  • Choice and Aversion

What we want in life is important. We have a choice of what we want in life. Our reasoning faculty and ability to choose gives us a direction in life.

  • What We Control
Welcome to Make Stoicism A Habit. Back a little over a year ago I published a book called Stoic Habits. I had a blog and podcast with the same name a stoichabits.com. Then something happened. I was not able to access the site. The site crashed I lost all content with it.
I was also having issues with the registrar getting the domain name back. I was not able to access it. So I stopped Stoic Habits and started a new site called Stoic Stress and a podcast of the same name. After several months I was able to get the stoichabits domain back.
Itunes the powerhouse of podcasts then made a rule that you can not have numbered episodes with your podcast. In the process of redoing episode titles I deleted episodes for the Stoic Stress podcast.
To put it simply it was an exercise in understanding what is beyond our control. So now I have taken a step back and decided to start a new podcast from scratch. And what better way then with the first chapter of the Enchiridion.
Thank you for listening and sharing this journey into learning this great philosophy.
