Meditations 4.1 shows the belief that there is a good reason for one’s existence gives life a meaning and a reason for the person to look forward to the next day. That need to fulfill one’s purpose and add value to the world around us is not something we randomly act on and succeed. On top of knowing what makes us who we are or should be, we need to map ways through which we can stay firm and focused on the reason for our existence.

Meditations 3 16 has a line that states 'to have the mind as guide to what appear to be duties'. The learned man has a mind  directed to right the right ends in life. These ends are necessary to live according to nature. It means having the right life skills through learning and habit to make our character endure.

When you read Meditations 3.15 there seems to be a message that the foolish neither understand the world they live in, nor the real meaning of what they say in  the words they use. It seems to contrast outward senses such as sight and smell with an inward vision. It means looking beyond the obvious. That vision can also be your own personal power.

Personal power is not about control but more of a person's attitude or state of mind. Its primary aim is self-mastery.

Your personal power is rooted in your ability to believe you can change your life and achieve your goals. Without this understanding, you will not have the motivation or confidence you need to work hard, overcome obstacles, and accomplish the many tasks that are required to become the best version of yourself. And none of that is possible without a growth mindset.

Meditations 3.14 starts off by saying stop your wanderings. Do you feel like you are wandering in life? It may be because of procrastination. tBefore you can begin to improve your life, you have to slay your habit of procrastination. There are tactics can motivate you even more to continue staying clear of the habit of procrastination.

The first line of Meditations 3.13 has the line doctors have their instruments and scalpels always at hand to meet sudden demands for treatment. Think of a checklist for doctors with medical procedures.

Does your to-do list seem to be growing out of control? Perhaps your tasks have gone from manageable to seemingly overwhelming. Daily, we are presented with obligations that shape our actions. Despite our best efforts, laziness can slowly creep into our routine and prevent us from being productive.

Let’s break down Meditations 3.12

“If you complete the present work, following the rule of right, earnestly, with all your might, with kindness, and admit no side issue, but preserve your own divinity pure and erect, you have at this moment to restore it;”

If you do what is right and in line with your values with every effort in the interest of others with no expectations or ulterior motives you maintain your dignity, integrity and character.

“ if you make this secure, expecting nothing and avoiding nothing, but content with present action in accord with Nature and with heroic truth in what you mean and say, you will live the blessed life. “

You take these actions not got external gratification or expectations but un line with your character and values. Be authentic in what you do or say.

“you will live the blessed life Now there is no one who is able to prevent this.”

A blessed life, In Stoic principle this means a life of fulfillment and peace. When this is achieved no one and nothing can change this.

A blessed life means peace and serenity. It also means happiness.

Think of some key phrases in Meditations 3.11 Always make a figure or outline of the imagined object as it occurs, in order to see distinctly what it is in its essence, naked, as a whole and parts; and say to yourself its individual name and the names of the things of which it was compounded and into which it will be broken up. One way to think of this is to analyze things in life break it down to its simplest components and identify these aspects of life.

For nothing is so able to create greatness of mind as the power methodically and truthfully to test each thing that meets one in life. Look at things logically and for what they are to make the most of decisions you make.

Why do we take an approach like this? To become better by knowing ourselves.

Meditations 3.10 shows the power of action in the present moment. Think of decisions you have made in the present moment. If we want something in life we need to experience life in the present moment. Change happens in the moment. 

Meditations 3.9 shows us that the power of judgement gives us direction. Choices we make reflect on our life. How do you handle problems and challenges? Using the right steps in decision making and problem solving can guide us.

Meditations 3.8 shows how integrity can build character when focusing on the present moment. We are guided by values. This gives a code of character that gives peace of mind and tranquility when followed.
