Hello, Welcome to Small Town + Co podcast I’m your host Sandra Clarke, welcome to episode 1.

In this first episode I'm going to introduce myself and tell you what this podcast can bring to you and your business.
I was born in Montreal and lived in New York, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Toronto.
I'm an artist, art teacher and I teach courses about the art business, specifically digital marketing and social media marketing. I've been making and teaching art for over 21 years. I make and teach weaving, knitting, spinning, fused glass, jewelry making, adult colouring book, and most recently published Eco Kids custom colouring book.
In those 21 years of making and teaching art I witnessed and participated in the growth of the digital world and social media and its advantages for artists, entrepreneurs and businesses.
In 2010 my husband and I bought an off-the-grid Cabin in the Woods. Little did we know, then, that we would want to make our off the grid retreat a more permanent residence. In 2010 I was warmly welcomed into the art community of Haliburton Highlands. I learned that many of the artists in the area were once residence of more urban centres in Canada and were drawn to the Bancroft area for a better lifestyle. I also learned that many people native to Bancroft we're very creative and, in fact TVO and Studio 2 proclaimed Bancroft as the most talented town in Ontario in 2004.
I find myself in a unique and advantageous position of duelality. My career has been long enough to experience life before internet and after internet. And geographically diverse enough to experience rural and urban business models.
I want to share my experience with you.
This podcast will bring you interviews, advise, and current strategies used by small town business owners about business growth and all encompassing well being of small town entrepreneurs.
I hope you will join me and my guests for the next few weeks and as discuss small town business businesses and entrepreneurship.
