    Send us Fan Mail

Does discipleship and spiritual growth occur in large groups? Small groups? One-on-one relationships? Yes to all. However, there is a critical component that is available only in individual relationships. Bill Mowry shares the importance of individual relationships.

He then shares about the resources available to churches and pastors who want to invest more deeply in the spiritual growth of their congregation, changing the DNA of the people to which they minister into disciplemakers themselves.

Is it better to "go with the flow" and not be very "directional" when it comes to helping someone grow spiritually? Or should I follow a pre-determined plan? Bill Mowry, senior Navigator staff helps us balance these two competing approaches, both of which have positive aspects.

  • Ep. 28 What is your picture of a disciplemaker? Part two of five, interview with Bill Mowry

    Send us Fan Mail

We all have different pictures hanging in our minds as to what a disciplemaker is. Is it someone who has the gift of teaching in front of a large class? Is it limited to professional clergy? Is it complex? Bill Mowry, Senior Navigator staff and author of "Ways of the Alongsider" helps us understand that a more reasonable "picture" of a disciplemaker is simply someone who comes alongside someone else, encouraging them, reading Scripture and praying together. With this picture, we understand that we all can make disciples.

  • Ep. 27 How does God use our natural social contacts to reach people for Christ? Part one of five, Interview with Bill Mowry

    Send us Fan Mail

Sometimes we think that we must make rather artificial relationships in order to reach people. And sometimes He does call us to that. However, more often God has placed us exactly where He wants us, in your particular family, work or school situation, in order to use you where you are planted. Bill Mowry, Senior Navigator staff and author of "Ways of the Alongsider" shares practical insights into how God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways to serve Him.

  • Ep. 25 What did Jesus mean when He said "abide in Me" in John 15? Part 5 of 6: Interview with Eddie Broussard

    Send us Fan Mail

Jesus teaches us in John 15 that He is the true vine and we are the branches. He tells His disciples to "abide" in Him. But what does "abiding" really mean? Eddie Broussard, International Vice President of the Navigators, helps us understand that even thought Jesus is in heaven right now, he still wants us to stay connected to Him. In addition, if Jesus is the true vine, there must be false vines that we are tempted to attach to as well. However, He is the only true vine from which we draw our sustenance.

  • Ep. 24 In the midst of hard times, how do I get my eyes on Jesus? Part 4 of 6: Interview with Eddie Broussard

    Send us Fan Mail

While Eddie Broussard was ministering in Moscow, all the things that he had depended upon were taken away from him. However, in the midst of this trying time, God had an object lesson for him -- St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. The beauty of that space spoke to him of the beauty of God Himself. He was able to get his eyes on Jesus, the great High Priest who enters directly into the Holiest of All, into the very presence of God. Jesus is our High Priest and takes us into the throne room of God.
