    More About Terry: Liskevych was the Head Coach of the USA Women’s National and Olympic Volleyball Teams for twelve years (1985-1996). The USA Team won the bronze medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. In 1995 he was named International Coach of the Year while leading the USA Women to a gold medal at the Grand Prix and a #1 world ranking. In 1981 he co-founded the American Volleyball Coaches Association and in 2011, he co-founded The Art of Coaching Volleyball a series of national and international coaching clinics that features a unique Internet site for coaches.Terry has been inducted into four Halls of Fame: American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), University of the Pacific, Stockton, and Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA). Terry received a B.S. in Biology from Loyola University-Chicago, a Master’s Degree from George Williams College and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Physical Education with emphases in Sports Psychology and International Sport.

He is experienced in engaging leaders in business, government, civil society and sport to address sensitive governance challenges such as fighting corruption and in bringing them together in collective action partnerships. He is of Danish origin and has lived, worked, studied and travelled in many countries and regions.
    Michael holds three MSc degrees; an MSc in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, taught in collaboration with the Columbia Business School; an MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice from the School of Management at the University of Bath, UK; and an MSc in International Relations from the Department of Political Science at Aarhus University, Denmark.

    This week my guest is Jason Corley, CMAA, Athletic Director for Long Branch (N.J.) Public Schools, and the 2018 Jersey Sporting News Athletic Director of the Year. When Jason took the position for his alma mater he had one overarching goal: ensure today’s Green Wave student-athletes did not make the same academic mistakes he did. Jason readily admits that he wasn’t the best student growing up. It was sports that kept him going to school and eventually motivated him to attend college. In this episode we’ll get into the details of how Jason established a rigorous academic accountability program that resulted in an increasing number of student-athletes going on to play at the college level, and eventually his becoming part of the Mayoral Transition team.

As they built out the group, they quickly realized there was an interest beyond investing. Now, TPI is a hub for entrepreneurial minded athletes: an extensive cross-sport athlete network, industry experts, early stage business resources, and investment opportunities - everything an athlete entrepreneur and investor needs to thrive. At TPI, they are building the virtual locker room for players to share and discuss all things start-up…Rather than 100 players investing in 100 different start-ups, our goal is for 100 players to invest in top start-ups together.

Dr. Bauman provided high performance services at multiple National Championships, Olympic Trials, World Cups, World Championships, World University Games, Pan-Pacific, and Pan-American Games; began a working relationship with the Navy Special Warfare School (BUDS/SEAL Teams) and the NHL Anaheim Ducks (Stanley Cup Champions).     This week my guest is Javier Silva (Executive Dir.) of Lacrosse the Nations (LtN), where they show sports are a conduit by which great things can be achieved. LtN is an international nonprofit that brings the sport of lacrosse to underserved communities as a way of instilling structure and life skills while promoting education and health.
    LtN began as a simple conversation between Brad Corrigan and Brett Hughes in 2008 about the truest power of sports to bring people together all over the world regardless of age, background, sex, ethnicity, experience or even language. LtN now partners with lacrosse teams, individuals, and organizations to spread our mission and open up people's perspectives to a bigger picture of sport.     Javier took over as LtN’s Executive Director in 2015. He spent two years volunteering as Program Director in Nicaragua before joining as the Director of International Programs and Marketing. Javier, born in Colombia, fell in love with lacrosse on the first lacrosse program at his Stamford, CT high school. He went on to play for four years on the MCLA team at the University of Connecticut. He moved to Sweden to obtain his MSc in International Marketing & Brand Management from Lund University, traveled throughout Scandinavia as a lacrosse player/coach, and later played on the Colombian National Team at the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships.

    As CEO at Good Sports, Inc., Melissa leads the organization’s growth, organizational strategy and partnership development. In the last 11 years, they’ve provided more than $15 million in equipment to 2,000 youth programs across 50 states, impacting millions of kids.
    As a thought leader and speaker, she tailors her message to the audience. When she talks to kids, she shares her story – she’s the first generation in her family ever to go to college. She tells them that with hard work and discipline, they can accomplish their goals, no matter what kind of background they come from. She talks to kids about playing to win…not on the field but in life. “If you don’t put all your effort into doing your best at everything you do, you’ll never truly reach your potential”. When she speaks with donors, partners, and supports, her overarching message is that although Good Sports, Inc. is a nonprofit, they run it like a business: strategic, thoughtful, and efficient.
    She estimates that there are more than 6 million kids in the top 50 MSAs in the U.S. that need their support. Melissa’s goal is to scale Good Sports, Inc. so they can give all those kids a chance to play within the next 10 years. To get there, they will nearly triple the size of the organization and the number of kids they can reach annually. Melissa says, “There is no limit to what we can accomplish and the impact Good Sports can have on kids who need our support, as long as we always think big and aim high.”
