It’s all aboard La Guedeneta this week as Málaga scored 3…yes 3 goals…to beat Leganés at Butarque. Not even a superhero like Súper Pepino could have thwarted Málaga in this game as a great performance led to a resounding win and a comfortable 3 points for Los Blanquiazules. We looked back over that away win before preparing to welcome top of the league Eibar to La Rosaleda this coming Saturday. There was a real improvement from Málaga this weekend against Real Valladolid, but sadly they threw away a two-goal lead to earn only a point in the first game of the Guede era. He’s Natxo manager anymore...that’s right, Natxo Gonzalez is out at La Rosaleda after just 1 win in 10. And we’re in with the new in the form of Pablo Guede. It was back to back defeats for Malaga, as Huesca took all 3 points home from La Rosaleda on Sunday in what was probably the worst game of the season. A perculiar team selection yielded no change in fortunes for an ailing Naxto Gonzalez as goals from Mateu and Seoane condemed the home side to a 2-0 defeat. Chris, Alex and Nick look back over the game whilst giving their verdicts on how Naxto still has a job, before looking ahead to Malaga's next game, an away day to high-flying Girona on Friday.

Things continued to go south for Málaga in the south of Madrid, as Málaga lose 1-0 to relegation rivals Fuenlabrada. A Mohamed Bouldini goal is enough to defeat a hapless Málaga and even with a 7 point cushion from the relegation zone, it is fair to say that the Guiricast are worried. We discussed, once again, what is going wrong for Málaga before looking ahead to our home game against Huesca and establishing that the Guiricast is now very much a ‘Natxo out’ podcast. It was the second draw in a row for Málaga at La Rosaleda - this time the draw came in the form of a 0-0 draw against Ponferradina. A 0-0 draw, but still enough talking points for us with some surprises in the starting XI again, a young player excelling on his debut and a possible penalty shout turned down. Málaga came agonisingly close to their first win under Natxo González this week, but got spectacularly denied by an old face, as Shinji Okazaki delivered an overhead kick with the last kick of the game to make it a 1-1 draw against Cartagena.
