God cares about the "sinners", the centurians, the Samaritans and women. Luke wants us to know that God cares about the marginalised. How does he do this?

Luke wants us to know that God cares about the Gentiles. How does he do this?

Luke was a loyal companion to Paul - right there near the end of his life when everyone else had left. How important do you think this relationship was? How might it have affected the Gospel and the book of Acts?

Who was this "Luke"? What do we know about him? Why do we even think he wrote the book we call "Luke"? We're teaching through the Gospel of Luke and this series (ALBOL) will accompany the lessons as we go.

What's the best way to give a preacher feedback on their sermon? I have three tips.

What do you think Jesus hoped his parable about the mustard seed would achieve? What response was he looking for in his followers? Any ideas?

Jesus tells his hearers that a mustard tree grows such that “birds can perch in its shade.” (Mark 4:32 NIV11). What might be the significance of this? Any thoughts?

In the parable of the mustard seed Jesus says that the mustard tree is the "largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” (Mark 4:30–32 NIV11). Does this make sense? What was his point? Any ideas? Please let me know.

I'm off to Ghana at the weekend to see some friends in the church there and to speak at various church events. I'd value any advice on customs, how to connect with the Gospel and anything else that might make the trip worthwhile and effective.

Do you have any advice for me? Please leave a comment or email me: [email protected].

Many thanks, and God bless,

Malcolm

Some of the disciples turn back and leave Jesus. We can understand the crowds and the Pharisees not following him, but why his disciples? Any insights?
