We're talking grain fungus that makes you hallucinate, epileptic seizures, being crushed by boulders - it's a wild ride.

In this week's episode, Syd & Jess cover the European Witch Trials - which may not sound related to medicine until you hear about who was targeted. Midwives, healers, widows, and middle aged women were regularly the targets of dangerous, sweeping accusations that led to the deaths of up to 100,000 people in Medieval Europe.

This week, we're sitting down for a second time with Retired Special Agent Bruce Sackman, who spent his career tracking down medical serial killers. The topic of today's interview is the case of RaDonda Vaught, the story of a nurse who mistakenly gave a patient the wrong drug, ultimately leading to the patient's death.
In this incredibly unusual case, RaDonda was just convicted of criminally negligent homicide and criminal neglect of an impaired adult for her medication error. We're here to get Bruce's opinion on the case that recently rocked the healthcare field.

This week, Jess covers the shocking case of the Guatemala Syphilis Experiments. Conducted between 1946 and 1948, this horrifying "study" was conducted on by the same physician who led the Tuskegee syphilis experiments (which we covered in Season 1) and involved the government-led deliberate infection of prisoners, sex workers, psychiatric patients, and orphaned children. This is an incredibly heavy topic, but one you that we consider a MUST listen.
