The parable of the mustard seed shows that there is great potential in the gospel to multiply and grow God’s kingdom, but it has humble beginnings. The gospel is proclaimed and spread in humility and weakness, not strength and pride.

The responsibility to scatter the seed of the gospel falls upon the people of God. We are not responsible for the germination or the full and final harvest, but the scattering of the seed is our responsibility.
