  • Mama Knows Nada Diaper Duty with Brandon

What happens when hospitality professionals become parents? They switch jobs, but keep the directive tone.

Brandon and I chat about life after restaurants, and how managing people impacts the transition into parenthood and relationships, for better or worse.

For Brandon, his profession prompted him to meet his now wife on the first day of a new job (surprise: engaged after about 45 days) leading them to become parents.  He also delves in to his experience as a child of adoption, what he was nervous about when he found out he was going to be a dad and why we wants to be present for his son. Talk about emotions of high alert.

It may not be that kitchen energy, but parenting sure takes a fire to get cookin'.

  • Mama Knows Nada Dad Life with Ernie

Ernie and his wife were waiting or their miracle. When she finally arrived, they were met with some unexcepted obstacles, and Ernie found himself taking the caregiving lead, for his wife and baby. He shares his journey from those first precious days in the NICU infant looking after his tiny girl while his wife recovered, to now having a thriving, determined teen daughter (with his partner steadfast by his side).

What I love most about this interview is how he and his wife are the definition of a team. They serve as buffers, sounding boards, cheerleaders and  reality checks for each other as well as their daughter. And all with love at the core. Tune in to his dadlife now.
