This week, we deep dive into the history of the Disneyland California Adventure ride, Monster's Inc: Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! We discuss the history of the ride's predecessor, the ill-fated Superstar Limo and explore how Disney Imagineers had to pivot and find an alternative theme to make the ride work for park attendees.  Set to close permanently in early 2026 to make way for the rumored Avatar expansion, catch this endearing ride while you can!

This week, we wrap up our trip around the World Showcase and find ourselves deep diving the Mexico Pavilion! After drooling over the delicious food and drinks options available in the pavilion, we marvel at the immersive experience in the open air market located inside the pyramid. Then we venture into the abandoned pavilions and concepts for the World Showcase, that never came to fruition.

This week, we delve into the creation of a visual icon and masterpiece. Standing at 145 feet tall, the Tree of Life can withstand hurricane force winds and is the perfect beacon, welcoming guests to explore Animal Kingdom in  Orlando, Florida. We marvel at the creative genius that resulted in around 325 animal faces which feel as though they are emerging from the tree itself. Not only is it a beautiful icon, it is the gateway to the beautiful discovery trails and holds a full theater below and will be opening soon with the newly rethemed 4D show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

Welcome back to our trip around the world showcase in Epcot, Disneyworld Orlando. This week we marvel at the grandeur and symbolism represented in the China Pavilion, where you can find an engineering feat of the whispering circle. Then we migrate to the frosty fjord of Norway, with its charming sod roofs, dragon scale shingles and home to Epcot's first thrill ride, Maelstrom (now Frozen Ever After). This overlay showcases Jack Skellington and his friends from the Nightmare Before Christmas bringing holiday cheer to the 999 happy haunts of the classic Haunted Mansion. The overlay is present in Disneyland, California and Tokyo Disneyland only. Join us on our adventure, exploring the development and execution of this festive ride overlay.

Welcome back to our ongoing tour around the world showcase in Epcot, Florida! This week, we explore the Italy and Germany Pavilions, highlighting initial concept rides for both pavilions, retail and food options and some of the magic touches that make these pavilions so special to visit. We also discover the Festival of Arts, which occurs annually in January until late February. This is an incredible festival which, highlights artistic talents and allows park goers to watch master artist's at work!

More than just an artistic design, the windows of Main Street are one of the highest honors that can be bestowed on the individuals whose contributions have brought Walt Disney's dream to life. Today, we explore some of the windows that honor not only key names in Disney history, but also lesser known names, with unique inscriptions that share a special detail about the individual represented. These windows showcase the continued legacy that there is magic in the details.
