A man with a knife barricaded himself in an IHOP restaurant. City of Fairfax PD units responded and evacuated the restaurant. Fairfax County PD patrol officers and tactical units assisted. At one point the barricaded suspect had opened gas lighters in the kitchen of the restaurant. Fire department units controlled gas to the building. Radio traffic from later in the incident suggests that the suspect may have slipped outside of the containment perimeter. He was later arrested. Nobody was injured.
