So ends my journey on the larapinta trail with my dad. This podcast is all reflection on what I got from the experience, the insights, the gifts, and the gratitude... Thank you all for listening in!

Disaster strikes!

Today, as I sat under the stars, I reflected on spirituality, galaxies and the land. I also mused on what could we learn from the indigenous population? In a time when our constant development is killing us how did they manage to stay content and a part of the environment for so long?

I listened back on this day's recording and I sounded stoned! Day 8 was a euphoric day physically and emotionally. And as I felt the amazing euphoria I reflected on the nature of impermanence due to contrast with how I felt this day compared the trauma of the day before!

On day 7 it was all about blisters, pain, and hitting the proverbial physical and emotional wall. Ouch! However, I also discovered there is some incredible peace that awaits the other side of hitting the wall. I think I need to go there more often!

Today I reflected on joy and simplicity of the routine of hiking, along with the fun and often unusual crowd that you meet on the trail of multi-day hikes... Ohh and I got a little spooked by a dingo!

During the hike on day 5 I realised just how important it is to feel challenged in my life, like it is a big key to my overall sense of happiness. And where I liked to be challenged is in the physical, the mental, the spiritual, and in my giving back to community.

Today I explored fatigue and pain... Mine! What is it really? And how far can we truly push ourselves?

Today as I spent the day in awe at my dads ability to just keep going, I also reflected a lot on the land and the people who lived in it. How did this land shape the indigenous people and what gifts could we learn from them? I also felt just how poorly they've been treated. I really want to say I'm sorry....

Day 2 of my journey my mind drifted on to the nature of life. What is life and why the hell does it keep on trying to survive and grow no matter what?? Where does this persistent evolutionary desire come from?
