Man the helm episodes

  • Ep. 26 Eric Mayfield

This week on the podcast I have my good buddy Eric Mayfield. Eric is a singer, musician, audio engineer, and producer. This is the first in person I've had the opportunity to do and I couldn't have picked a better person! Eric and I have worked together in the past and possibly have some things in the future coming up. The coolest part about Eric is he's in the beginning stages of "manning his helm". His studio Seventh Circle Studios has been working with and producing local bands in the Clarksville area for over a few years now and he looking to branch out and its slowly starting to happen for him! I can't wait to see what the future holds for Eric and Seventh Circle Studio.

  • Ep. 24 Challenges are just opportunities in disguise with Joan of Heart
This week I sit down with Joan of Heart. You know her from her YouTube channel "Pedal Playhouse" and the "Get Offset Podcast". We get into her humble beginnings when she used to sing classic rock songs in the car with her parents up to her "late" start on YouTube with the Pedal Playhouse. More importantly we get in to mental resilience, dealing with self doubt, and coming to terms with ones own mortality..... Sounds dark right? Yeah, definitely a bit but this is one of the most positive and encouraging episodes I've had the opportunity to record and I know you're going to enjoy it and hopefully get some words of wisdom from Joan as well!

  • Ep. 22 Phillip Carter of 40 Watt Podcast
This week I sit down with Phillip Carter. A librarian by day and a gear nerd, guitarist, and podcaster by night. He has been running the 40 Watt Podcast since November of 2020 and I've been a fan since almost the beginning. Phillip is such an awesome dude and one of the most honest and down to earth people I've had the pleasure of chatting with. This week we talk about the beginning of his guitar journey, coming up in the worship scene, struggles with podcasting, and so much more on this weeks podcast. I know you'll really enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it.

  • Ep. 21 Nick Diener of Oneder Effects

This week I sit down with Nick from Oneder Effects. He's "lived" the dream of touring the world with his band The Swellers up until they decided to hang it up and transition to the next phase of life. Nick has done quite a lot after The Swellers, such as starting Oneder studios as well as Oneder Effects. We get into the pedal that started it all as well as some life and other struggles Nick has had to over come in his journey. I had a blast talking to Nick and I know you'll enjoy this episode too!

  • Ep. 20 Austin Woodruff of Runway Audio
This week is super awesome for me because I learned so much from talking to Austin about all things cables. We get into Austins back story and how he started playing guitar and all the way up to where he is today. I love talking to people with the knowledge and passion of their craft such as Austin. He is a true wealth of knowledge and such a down to earth guy. On top of all that he is making the best cables on the market today! I know you're gonna love this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it!

  • Ep. 18 Jordan from Poison Noises

This week I sit down with Jordan Withers from Poison Noise! Its hard to believe that Poison Noises is only a couple of years old but they have so many pedals available and so many versions of their pedals. Though it's no surprise that Jordan is one of the hardest working people in the pedal community as of now. He's always woking on new circuits and constantly trying to improve on the the current line. We get into his beginning of Poison Noises and how awesome the pedal DIY community is, how the Crook became a staple bass tone for Addison from the JHS show, and so much more. Jordan is one of the most down to earth and a super fun person to talk to. I know you'll enjoy this conversation just as much as I did!

  • Ep. 17 Dani Rabin from Marbin

This is a big one for me! Right when I was getting into instrumental music (2016) Marbin hit Facebook with a handful of viral hits such as "Redline" and "African Shaptay" and Marbin has been on my radar every since! Dani is once of the most the fun guitarist to watch and listen to! From is technical ability and knowledge of the instrument to his songwriting and emotion in his playing. This is the second time I've had to opportunity to talk to Dani, both times such a blast. We have a very freeform conversation here which is something I really enjoy but especially with a gust like Dani. We talk the early days of his guitar journey, the start of Marbin, and all the way up to the tour they just got back from. That and so much more on this weeks episode!
