Numbers - Census of a New Generation, The Law of Inheritance, Joshua to Succeed Moses,

Luke - Introduction

Numbers: Miriam's death. The people complain, Moses strikes a rock and Aaron dies. A bronze serpent is lifted to heal the Israelites. Israel has victory over two cities and Balak, summons Baalam to curse the Israelites where an angel intercedes using a donkey.

James: Jesus' takes all the sins of the world upon Himself on the cross and dies. Joseph of Arimathea anoints His body and buries Him in his own tomb.

Numbers:  Laws for the foreigners and punishment for those who break the sabbath.  Korah and sons of Israel's rebellion against Moses results in the earth opening taking them and all that was theirs.  The people grumble at this and God has a plague break out where 14,700 die before atonement is made by Aaron.

Mark:  Jesus stands against His accusers and Peter denies Him three times.

Mark - The Return of Christ

Numbers:  A group of laws God gave Moses about Lepers, restitution, women suspected of adultery, vows of the Nazarites and Arron's Benediction.  

Mark:  Jesus speaks to His disciples about all the things that are to come and must take place. 

Numbers:  The records that the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai concerning the Levites being a priesthood and their duties and positions around the tabernacle by families, households and individuals.

Mark:  The religious leaders questioning Jesus, what is the greatest commandment and a teaching Jesus gives about the widows mite.

Numbers:  God has Moses take a census of all the warriors of Israel at Mount Sinai not including the levites, who will be camped around the tabernacle tending it.  Also given are very specific instructions on how the tribes are to camp around the tabernacle and in what order they break camp and travel.

Mark:  Jesus shares three parables, of the winegrower and his son, the lawfulness of paying poll taxes to Caesar. and who will be the husband of a woman married seven times in heaven.   

Leviticus:  God promises a blessing for obedience to Israel that they will never need to worry for their well being as He will take care of all their needs in the promised land but for disobedience there will be severe consequences and they will be scattered until they repent.

Mark:  The fig tree withers that Jesus had cursed.   Jesus teaches His followers to forgive others as God has forgiven them and challenges the religious leaders to first answer Him when they ask by what authority He acts upon.
