Gray theses

The thesis at this point in time is no longer simply the result of a scientific question;     
or at least, it cannot always be so. A question that comes closer to an answer through study, experience, testing, and data, and with the guidance of knowledgeable people, and allows the researcher to experience and learn. In this day and age, some theses are prepared in a place in the shadows that can no longer be called the thesis defense session because:

Some theses are commissioned, data is manipulated, scientific fraud occurs, the thesis becomes a ready-made product for sale, or they are completed using artificial intelligence tools, without the researcher's understanding and scientific ability playing a real role in the knowledge production process.

A serious question arises here:

What is left of "research"?

In this episode of Al-Manshor , I talk to Dr. Maral Khodaparast, a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy in September 2025, about the gray boundaries of research and dissertations.

We will talk about the laboratory, classroom, and theater workshop space,
the experience of working with data and ethics in research,
scientific fraud and the phenomenon of thesis commissions,
and finally the pharmaceutical job market and the experience of being in two large pharmaceutical factories in Iran .

And then we come to this question:

What happens to education, students, professors, and ultimately science itself, when the path of knowledge production deviates from its true path?

Perhaps it is time for the thesis to end in its current form ;

And this ending is actually the beginning of a more serious question:

If the thesis in its current form no longer meets the educational and research goals needed tomorrow, what could replace it?

Teaching pharmacy students has been a big part of my life for many years.

I have studied, taught, lived with students at the Azad and Tehran Colleges of Pharmacy, and spent many years of my life acquiring knowledge that I still respect and believe in.

But sometimes, even in the closest and most familiar parts of life, a sense of distance forms, like the one I had with others today at the Pharmacy Day ceremony... I couldn't remember the names of the people I had lived with for years.

I don't know where this gap started.

From an old choice?

From a forgotten teenage dream?

From growing up?

From responsibility?

Where do I stand in this life?

"Beyond the White Coat" is the story of a new encounter; an encounter with the piano, with my own hands, Madame's hands, Madame's voice, with memories of adolescence, and with a part of my being that could never be summed up in my current job title.

In this nonfiction, I write about the piano, but perhaps in all these years I have written more about distances than anything else  .

The distance between me and the part of life I have chosen.

A distance I don't want to deny.

This non-fiction is written and published on the occasion of Shahrivar 5th, Pharmacist and Pharmacy Day.

داروخانه یکی از مهم‌ترین «مناطق خاکستری» در زنجیره درمان است؛ جایی که تصمیم‌ها و نحوه رفتار حرفه‌ای می‌تواند بر سلامت و کرامت بیمار اثر بگذارد.

یکی از وجوه کمتر دیده‌شده این موضوع، نحوه برخورد داروخانه با بیماران مبتلا به اختلال مصرف مواد است.

در ادامه گفت‌وگو با دکتر محمد مرادی و دکتر مهلا تولابی، می‌خواهیم از این بگوییم که داروخانه:

نه محل ترحم بی‌ضابطه است،
نه محل قضاوت و تحقیر؛
نه محل رها کردن بیمار،
نه محل فراهم کردن داروی ناایمن،
و نه محل خشونت و برخورد غیرحرفه‌ای.

شاید نخستین قدم در یک برخورد حرفه‌ای، این باشد که او را پیش از آنکه «معتاد» ببینیم، یک انسان و یک بیمار ببینیم؛ انسانی که حق دارد درمانی ایمن، محترمانه و بدون انگ دریافت کند.

این اپیزود ناداستانی است  پیرامون   بهای انتخاب های غیر اخلاقی اردشیر خان  در بستری درهم برهم و غیر مسئولانه و البته اشباع  از  انتخاب های  ابلهانه ی استاد ی پرمدعا و  کلافه  .

همیشه تصور کرده ایم " خر " بودن به معنی " احمق " بودن، " کودن " بودن  ، جفتک انداختن و اسیب رساندن به دیگران است چون ما فقط   خرنکره ( خری که جفتک می پراند ) را می شناسیم و از ویژگی های  خر معرفه ( خری که نجیب و متین باشد  و دلش بخواهد با سواری آگاهانه  به دیگران خیر برساند  )  کمتر دانسته ایم  .  

خر معرفه  انسانی است که  "  انتخاب می کند"  و بابت انتخاب  های اخلاقی خود بهاو گاهی بها های  سنگینی می پردازد  .بنابراین  به نظر می رسد هر کسی  بتواند کوله باری از   " اسناد خریت " بر دوش داشته باشد که اگر لب بگشایدو مثل من از این اسناد سخن بگوید بتواندنگاه ما را به موضوع خریت دگرگون سازد خاصه اگر آن انسان یک " معلم" باشد . 

اپیزود 59 از پادکست منشور در 59 سال از تاسیس و سپس انحلال حزب خران ایران در تیرماه سال 1350 با سروده ای از زنده یاد ایرچ میرزا آغاز می شود و قول می دهم اگر تا پایان شنونده ی این اپیزود باقی بمانید و به ادامه اش در اپیزود بعدی گوش کنید دیگر بابت تکرار کلمه ی خر و خریت ازکوره در نروید .من به شما اثبات می کنم   وجود " خران " چقدر می تواندحداقل  برای محیط های اموزشی به فنا رفته ی امروزی ما  ضروری و کمبودشان مساوی با نابودی آموزش و پرورش نسل های بعدی  باشد . 

در این اپیزود با خر خواندن خود به عنوان یک استاد قدیمی دانشگاه ، قصد توهین به هیچ همکار و هم صنف یا دانشجویی  را  نداشته ام بنابراین  از لحظه ی انتشار این مونولوگ  اعلام می کنم هرچند بار که از خر برایتان گفته  ام باخودم بوده ام  نه با هیچ انسان فرهیخته ی دیگر . 

  این اپیزود با کلیپ کوتاهی از نمایش شهرقصه نوشته ی زنده یاد بیژن مفید خاتمه می یابد که جایگاه   خر و  سایر چارپایان  در یک جامعه ی شهری را به ما یاد آوری می کند .

With the beginning of the summer season, the season of books and reading, I am starting Season 8 of the Al-Kharsh podcast, and in an 8-minute mini-episode, I invite you to the world of childhood by reading a book from the childhood library, a book written by an unknown author named "Sadaf" and titled "Big B", "Little B". 

A reminder of all the great and small writers who, with their pens, have brought us closer to worlds more colorful than our own.

No matter how much I search, I can't find the abstract publication. It seems like it no longer exists or maybe its name has changed. But at the end of the book, the publisher wrote something addressed to good children who read books that still makes sense in the absence of the publication and its books:

"We know that among you children, there are certainly those who write much better than Sadaf and his friend, and perhaps much better than all the authors whose books we have read so far……

But

 You too can try yourself and write your own stories so that you know that writing requires courage. We will read your writings and publish them in the form of a book, so either bring them to us or mail them to us and be sure that your letters will definitely reach us and we will answer you after reading them.
