  • Abdul vs Goliath

“You want to tell me that the best use of 3.3 billion dollars is to go and kill other people? I think people are realising that rather than send our money to do heinous things to a foreign government, maybe we could keep it here to do good things to our government.”

The Gaza genocide rewired the political landscape in the U.S., especially in Michigan. People weren’t just horrified — they were done being dragged into Israel’s war with their tax dollars and their silence. The “uncommitted” vote in 2024 was the middle finger to the Biden administration’s defense of Israel’s assault, and it showed voters were ready to punish anyone who kept enabling it.

AIPAC saw the danger immediately. They dumped money into Michigan like their very existence depended on Stevens winning. Nearly $60 million spent to stop Abdul El‑Sayed — the largest amount they’ve ever thrown at a single race. And that’s only the spending you can see. The dark money channels, the corporate PAC pipelines, the donor networks that don’t disclose anything — none of that is counted.

Meanwhile, AIPAC has poured $36 million into backing Rep. Haley Stevens, building her up as their reliable vote. Her public record makes it obvious why: she has repeatedly declared her unwavering support for Israel, voting in line with every major pro-Israel resolution and publicly stating that “Israel’s security is non-negotiable.” She’s the kind of Democrat AIPAC wants — predictable, loyal, and willing to toe the line no matter what Israel does…slaughtering babies notwithstanding.

But Michigan isn’t putting up with that sadistic s**t. The Gaza war broke the old political machinery. People watched the bombings, the starvation, the justifications, and they snapped. They don’t want their tax dollars funding a foreign government’s war crimes. They don’t want their politicians bought by a lobby that treats American democracy like a it's their little play thing.

Polls now show El‑Sayed leading Stevens by 8 to 14 points, depending on the survey. The gap keeps widening. Arab‑American communities, Black voters, young voters, and the “uncommitted” bloc have coalesced around him in a way that looks less like a campaign and more like a political shift.

This is a referendum on the old order. Michigan is showing what happens when voters stop being afraid of the lobby that has dominated American politics for decades. AIPAC can burn through millions, but they can’t buy back the public’s trust. America is sick of Israel’s chokehold on U.S. politics, sick of watching billions flow to a foreign military while people at home can’t afford rent, healthcare, or basic dignity. They are disgusted with all these Israel shills voting to use their money to bomb and kill countless innocent lives halfway across the world.

  • Earth’s Greatest Enemy

The phrase Earth’s Greatest Enemy comes from Abby Martin’s documentary, where she lays out the argument that the U.S. military isn’t just a geopolitical actor — it’s the single largest institutional driver of ecological collapse.

The Pentagon is, by its own reporting, the world’s biggest institutional consumer of oil and the largest emitter of greenhouse gases. Independent audits from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and CEOBS (Conflict and Environment Observatory) back this up, showing that U.S. military emissions exceed those of many entire nations.

Martin’s film also digs into how U.S. bases function as pollution zones. Reports from Japan’s Ministry of the Environment, Okinawa Prefectural Government, and Al Jazeera’s investigative desk have documented PFAS contamination, jet fuel leaks, and toxic waste dumping around U.S. installations in Okinawa, Guam, and the Philippines. Local governments have repeatedly demanded remediation; the U.S. military has repeatedly refused.

U.S. wars devastate ecosystems far beyond the battlefield. This is confirmed by UNEP’s Post‑Conflict Environmental Assessments, which show that U.S. operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria left behind depleted uranium contamination, destroyed agricultural systems, and long‑term soil toxicity. Iraqi medical researchers (published through Middle East Research and Information Project) have spent years documenting cancer clusters near DU‑impacted zones — evidence the Pentagon still denies.

Another point she raises: the U.S. military’s role in enforcing global extractive capitalism. This is documented in Chatham House, Global South think tanks, and African Centre for Strategic Studies reports. AFRICOM’s expansion tracks directly with resource corridors — cobalt, oil, rare earths — and local communities consistently report displacement, surveillance, and militarized pressure around mining zones.

This is a planetary threat, not just a political one. The Pentagon’s carbon footprint, its global base network, its resource consumption, and its war‑driven ecological destruction form a system that no other military — or corporation — comes close to matching. The U.S. military “Earth’s Greatest Enemy,” is a measurable reality: a single institution with planetary‑scale destructive capacity, operating with no democratic oversight and no environmental accountability.

  • Don’t Touch Israel

The moment the ICC moved toward arrest warrants for Israeli officials, the response was mafia‑like. It wasn’t diplomacy. It was a warning. US lawmakers went public with threats aimed straight at the court. They basically told the ICC: touch Israel and you’ll pay for it.

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese said the threats were political intimidation meant to scare the ICC off its own work.

Karim Khan was removed by the ICC’s Assembly of States Parties. A UN oversight panel reviewed the misconduct allegations and said the evidence didn’t justify firing him. Member states fired him anyway. His responsibilities, including the Israel/Palestine situation file, were handed to his deputies.

This fits a long pattern. The US has spent years attacking the ICC whenever investigations get close to Israel or American actions. Sanctions. Public warnings. Laws built to block cooperation. Same playbook every time: protect Israel, punish anyone who tries to enforce accountability.

And while this is happening, activists in the UK are being hit with terror‑related charges, Palestine Action is being targeted, and governments are sliding into open authoritarianism. It’s all part of the same message: Israel is off‑limits, and anyone who tries to make it otherwise gets pressure, punishment, or removal.

“Don’t Touch Israel” isn’t a slogan. It’s a threat. And the ICC’s reaction — whatever internal reasoning they claim — shows how international law is a farce.
