Mapping Doctors is an NIHR-funded multi-disciplinary research project at Lancaster University. We are exploring and mapping underdoctored areas, in particular the impact of medical training pathways on NHS workforce distribution and health inequalities.
In this episode Euan Lawson, Dr Liz Brewster, and Dr Choon Key Chekar talk about the study's findings in relation to gender and the experiences of women and men. Perhaps most importantly it illuminates the lack of flexibility in training pathways which can affect many doctors and their lives.
Note: This study is funded by the NIHR but the views expressed are those of the members of the team and are not necessarily those of the NIHR or the Department of Health and Social Care.
