Ro: Cerul era întunecat, iar norii grei atârnau amenințător deasupra dealurilor Maramureșului.
En: The sky was dark, and the heavy clouds hung menacingly above the hills of Maramureș.

Ro: Aerul rece de toamnă aducea cu el mirosul umed al pădurii și teama unei ploi ce nu părea să se mai oprească.
En: The cold autumn air carried with it the damp smell of the forest and the fear of a rainstorm that seemed never-ending.

Ro: Râul s-a umflat enorm, curgând rapid spre micul sat unde o biserică de lemn veche de sute de ani părea să fie în pericol.
En: The river had swollen enormously, rushing swiftly towards the small village where a centuries-old wooden church appeared to be in danger.

Ro: Raluca, cu ochii ei scânteietori și plini de determinare, se oprea din când în când să privească vechea biserică.

Ro: Cristian tocmai le dezvăluise puterea comunității unite.
