MARCO KASPER UPDATE, DETROIT RED WINGS VS MONTREAL CANADIANS RECAP, AND IS THE NHL ACTUALLY GROWING?

Listen Later

On today's episode, the boys survived a tornado warning, but still suffer from poor internet connections.
We kick off the episode with some Detroit Red Wings news and really sad news per coach lalonde that Marco Kasper potentially will be out for the rest of the season with a lower body injury he got from the Toronto game. Tough break for the kid, but should and will be good to go for day 1 of training camp.
Per Coach Lalonde as well, we touch on Ned not being on the roster due to Husso being back, but not technically called back to the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins. If anyone that is watching, or reading this, please let us know in the comments if you have more knowledge on this and how this impacts emergency call ups and how they move in and out of the rosters.
Sebastian Cossa was named Goaltender for the month of March i the ECHL. During that time Cossa put up a a 6-1-1 record with 1 shutout, 1.73 GAA and a .944SV%, which is pretty good no matter what league you play in. Good on him for achieving this accolade.
Around the League news the playoffs are right around the corner! only 8 more days left in the regular season as we record this episode on Wednesday night April 5th, 2023 730pm EST.
NCAA D1 Men's Frozen Four Hockey Tournament begins tomorrow at 5pm starting with (1) Minnesota up against Boston University and then (3) Michigan University up against (2) Quinnipiac at 8pm. The boys then select their teams to make it to the Championship round.
Dailyfaceoff on Instagram posted a reel asking "How many sport are passing hockey" touching on other sports leagues and how they are doing a better job than Hockey as a whole in North America. Do you believe that the NHL is in fact growing?
Red Wings vs Montreal Canadians Recap!
Wings win 5-0 with Husso back in net.
Daddy Perron records 2 goals 1 assist.
Oesterle and Maata record 2 assists each
Raymond, Veleno and Luff record a goal
While Simon Edvinsson continues to impress and look more and more confident as each game he games continues, should we start to worry about him taking a penalty every game he has played in so far?
Where are my Joe Veleno lovers at?! This kid, he truly has shown the skill work that he posses and is showing us just how close he is to translating it finally at the NHL level. A good example would be Rasmussen, someone who took a few years to finally get his feet implanted into the ground, and making a statement that he is a good player, and that he does deserve to be here.
Matt Luff was someone that had a pretty big game, recording a goal, 2 shots on net, and recording 5 hits in this game. This is someone that kind of fits the mold of what Yzerman looks for in his players. While Luff isn't exactly a game changer, or possibly even a bottom 6 player. Is Luff a player you could see Yzerman bringing back on a league minimum, two way deal, where he comes up only on injury basis?
Overall: The Canadians truly are doing just about anything they can to gain another 1st overall pick. However, you cannot ignore that insane injury list they have that required two lists to fit all of the players names they have out.
However, the Red Wings played a good game overall. Granted, it came against a beaten up Montreal team. Can't take away the fact that the boys had their passes clicking, the hits were hurting, and most importantly THE BOYS WERE BUZZING!
Before we wrap up the episode, we do a quick standings update, and take a look at the upcoming games we have before our next recording on Sunday night.
This is where things got a little tricky in terms of our internet! Zack does his best to wrap it up with final thoughts, and is luckily joined by Derek once again. YAY!
Thanks again for those of you returning to tune in with us.!
Thank you to those that are new!
We really do appreciate the support and love interacting with yall!
As always, GO RED WINGS!
