Marguerite Young Society

Finished the synopsis of Plato's Symposium and Diotima's Ladder

Only part of Plato is covered because I need to examine how love is used in the book, over 1500 times.

Music of the Spheres and how the characters relate to music is in this section.

Interesting that Christine Jorgensen was the first public trans woman in the US during the time that Young was writing the book.

I think we have one or two more episodes left of Part 6.

A look at how it's used in the book and some historical context and as a romance trope.

Short topic today!

I feel mother is a huge topic of the novel since it occurs 1400 times in the book.

Yep, it's a doozy!

We explore some more difficult subjects under women's experiences in Part 6. I've moved everything but the podcast to Substack. Leave me a link of a substack I should check out!
