Todd isn't gluten-free, he doesn't believe in astrology and he is sceptical about UFOs So who can he trust? The news? A friend's 911 conspiracy post on Facebook? His family doctor? With so much information in a flurry of debate amongst the "experts" how do you decide what to believe? In this weeks Low Fidelity Podcast, Todd and Marie take a look at our popular belief systems, both in the spiritual and scientific realm and how much of an impact it makes on the way we navigate our choices and our behaviours. When television personality and MD, Dr OZ speaks, there are millions of viewers ready to believe and purchase the products he advocates on his highly popular show. However, in the latest dispute of the good doctor’s healthy advice, the University of Alberta found that only 46% of what he discusses is backed up by scientific evidence, 39% showing no support, while the remaining 15% of what he advocates is contradictory to research. Can we say that we are being duped by his advice or are we throwing out Dr Oz with the bath water just because there are not enough deep pockets to pay for the research for a medication that actually works? Listen to this weeks podcast and you will be surprised on Todd and Marie’s take on the topic.
