These words, have out last evil tormentors, brutal dictators, explosions, raids, trails of tears, and even  several Holocaust, just to name a few.

These words are eternal. I Pray as we Light up our Hanukkah  candles this night and for the next 7 nights, we remember the spoken then printed words of the Maccabean times are not just a story of how HaShem can and will bring His people to victory...... if and when we seek Him and stay right to Him and His Torah.

Let this be a reminder of those who have died so that we might be here today to be a light to nations.  More than just stories or words on a page or scroll.  This is our Heritage and Inheritance.  This Torah is the very breath our Father breath in to the first man and the very breath He Himself will release when He dwells amongst us once again...may He send His Mashiach.... soon in our days.

As we light the menorah please remember...we may speak different words or different language from all over this earth our Father has created....., but in the end HaShem is only asking for one back from us..... can you guess what it is?

Today we are going to go over our Jewish terminology for the week.

This weeks word is: Judeo-Spanish

This is an English word.

My person JPS dictionary defines Judea-Spanish as .. The romance language spoken by Sephardic Jews, especially in Turkey, the Balkans, and North Africa.

Also called Judezmo.

When Spanish Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, they settled in new countries around the Mediterranean; their 15 century Castilian Spanish fused with Turkish, Arabic, Greek, and Hebrew words to create Judeo-Spanish, which is considered the Sephardic counterpart to Yiddish. The term "Ladino" is commonly used in place of Judeo-Spanish, although Ladino is actually the written liturgical language of the Sephardim.

I find Judeo- Spanish easier to understand and learn. This is probably because I grew up loosely "speaking" Spanish, but always hearing Spanish.

And by Spanish I mean El Paso Tex-mex Mexican/Spanish slang... and you have to go there to know what I am talking about. El Paso Spanish in my opinion is a mix between Ladino, Spanglish, Texmex, and Spanish/Mexico slang all in one.

Judah Maccabee (or Judas Maccabeus, also spelled Machabeus, or Maccabæus, Hebrew: יהודה המכבי, [1] Yehudah HaMakabi) was a Jewish priest ( kohen) and a son of the priest Mattathias. He led the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire (167-160 BCE).

I had a dream:

I had a dream or vision. My dream woke me in shock. Well, I thought I woke up. In my dream I hurt my right big toe. It was quite painful. I cut it on a stone as I was walking. I did my best to continue to walk. I tried to ignore that pain. When I could no longer stand the pain… I sat down, held my right foot and noticed there was a cut. It was not bleeding. I was confused… was this a cut or did I simply injure my right big toe? I asked my Angel… “Why did he allow me to stream my toe?” I continued by saying, “ I thought you were supposed to make sure that I never strike my foot against a stone?”  The answer my Angel gave me was not spoken, but was somehow known in my spirit.

“Sometimes a little foot stub is necessary for growth.”

I then whined,” But, my toe is cut or feels cut….it hurts!”

I was answered with, “Big pain….Big growth.”

Hearing this answer was calming to me. I had peace knowing although I was currently in pain… the pain was necessary for what ever part of my early destiny.  #thankyouHaShem

Today we are going to go over our Jewish terminology for the week.

This weeks word is: Maccabiah Games!

As someone who grew up playing sports.... I am truly feeling this weeks term and have a deep appreciation for those even try to participate in the games.  The discipline it takes to be an athlete is in my opinion almost the same discipline needed to serve int he military or law enforcement.  Some many of my childhood wonderful memories involve sports and the wonderful coaches and team mates that I was so very Blessed to have in my life.  If I could live a couple of years over again and truly take in the moments.... those sports years would be some.  I would also make sure to let those who volunteered and supported us growing up know that ... they were just my coaches or assistance; no. In many ways they were my mentors.

What to expect this lesson?

This lesson we will continue in Moses’ of Blessed memory speech to the Nation of Israel before His death and the Nation of Israel carrying on to the Promise Land.  This lesson will review the remaining verse of the portion Deuteronomy (Vaetchanan) began at Devarim ch 3 verse 23. The next Portion will begin in next Bible Study  Eikev Devarim  from chapter 7 verse 12 thru chapter 11 verse 25.

I believe this Bible Studies main concept is the order we receive from HaShem, Blessed be He; to not allow those who unapologetically flaunt their worship of demonic idols, but also aim to entice other into their pagan and perverse abominable dark ways.   The world teaching those of us who do not allow paganism, abominations, or impure ways into our lives or around, are somehow the problem. When that facts the matter is societies that have allowed corruption and the ways of baal peor; have also follow.  The we are called to be a light to Nations..... not compromisers to nations.

Yigdal ("may he be magnified") is often the concluding prayer of the Friday evening service in Sephardic congregations; the Ashkenazim recite it during weekday morning prayers. This prayer, believed to be composed by R Daniel bar Judah, is based on the "Thirteen Principles of Faith" described by Maimonides in his book, Commentary on the Mishnah.
