Mark As Read

4.20 Threshing Day by Rebecca Yarros

I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but I was blown away. Each chapter is the story of one character meeting their dragon. We got so many inside looks into different characters perspectives and got to hear a bit more from the dragons. I couldn't put this down and now can't wait to reread the whole series!

4.19 The Last Devil to Die and The Impossible Fortune by Richard Osman

In a continuation of last episode, we are discussing the Thursday Murder club books #4 and #5 today. The Last Devil to Die (book 4) might possibly be my favorite of the whole series and had me sobbing and laughing with the characters we have come to know and love. The Impossible Fortune was definitely more murder-mystery focused, but was so good and kept me on my toes the whole time. Which book in the series is your favorite?

4.18 The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman

If you are anything like me, I always have trouble keeping track of the names of books within a series. So for me, this is Thursday Murder Club book #3 aka The Bullet That Missed. I have absolutely adored this series and this one was no exception. You get all of the main characterd you have grown to love plus some amazing side characters that became some of my favorites. There are definitely spoilers in this episode so don't listen until you've read the book!

4.17 The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig

I delayed reading this because it didn't sound as good to me as One Dark Window. But this was just as good and the sequel comes out this year! Which series from Rachel Gillig do you like best?

4.16 The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater

This historical fiction story takes place in West Virginia during WWII when foreign diplomats were housed in 5 star hotels until agreements could be made to exchange them for their American counterparts. The story dives into the conflicts between the diplomats, the FBI spying on them, and the staff trying to run the hotel. I had no idea about this aspect of American history and loved learning about it in addition to seeing behind the scenes of the hotel.

4.15 Graceless Heart by Isabel Ibañez

I loved this fantasy/historical fiction story. Set in Italy during the Renaissance, this had a perfect mix of real history, art, mystery, romance, and fantasy. I honestly didn't know how it was going to end and it was so fun following this characters. I can't wait to read her other books!

4.14 Butcher & Blackbird and Learher & Lark by Brynne Weaver

I don't normally read dark romance or use it for podcast episodes, but these were so great I had to share! The premise is kind of similar to Dexter. The two main characters are serial killers but they only kill "bad" people and then they fall in love. It's definitely a little gory so beware of that if that is triggering. Otherwise, enjoy!

4.13 For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn

This romantasy is the first in a series and might be my new obsession. I discovered Jaysea Lynn and this book on Instagram and have not looked back. The romance aspect feels relatable, fun, and easy to cheer for. But even more amazing is the world building of the after life and working at the "Hellp desk" in hell. I can't wait for you all to read this and tell me what to think! Plus the sequel is coming out in 2026 so get ready!

4.12 The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

It took me a while to get on the Ali Hazelwood train, but this Kylo Ren/Rey fan fiction inspired romance was the perfect introduction. It's got all of the will they won't they, banter, and just a little spice. Plus a strong FMC in STEM! Do you have a favorite Ali Hazelwood book?

4.11 Heir of Storms by Lauryn Hamilton Murray

I'm calling it now. I think Heir of Storms is going to be the next big fantasy series. With a sequel coming out later this year, the world building, political intrigue, and characters learning their own strength, this has all of the makings of a fabulous fantasy series.
