In this bonus episode, Samuel Sey and I dig deeper into the political strategies to secure justice.
Pro-life legislators aren't creating discrimination, they are curtailing discrimination. They are faced with a choice between reducing abortion on the way to outlawing it altogether or just making a statement.
William Wilberforce was in principle a moral absolutist, but in practice a strategic and tactical incrementalist—as are pro-lifers today. In that legal environment, the principled pro-lifer is an immediatist morally and an incrementalist strategically. That is, while pro-lifers remain committed to the principle that every unborn human should be legally protected, they work to save as many lives as possible given current political realities.
Wilberforce, Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr. were in principle moral absolutists, in practice they functioned as strategic and tactical incrementalists.

Right now, Americans are being confronted with important fundamental questions about abortion and are being asked to consider exactly how they stand on this important matter, and why.
The film, Matter of Life, asks the questions in a thoughtful and provocative way to establish clarity and perspective in hearts and minds. This film features the stories of abortion industry workers, post-abortive women, faith leaders, and secularists, as well as experts in the history and legal framework that shaped abortion decisions in America.
In today’s episode, Mark interviews Tracy Robinson, a San Diego-based filmmaker about her new documentary.

In this episode, my guest, Samuel Sey, will discuss with me some of the emerging political challenges pro-life advocates are facing in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade. One such issue is whether abortion bans should specifically exempt women from prosecution for illegal abortions. The NRLC recently released an Open Letter to state lawmakers directing them to exempt women from prosecution of illegal abortions in states that attempt to outlaw abortion.
For those of you who missed the letter, here is the link:

We will give our thoughts on this letter that calls for state legislators to exempt women from prosecution for illegal abortions.
In addition, we will discuss whether pro-life legislators should only support complete bans or lesser measures meant to restrict or regulate abortion.

In this episode, my guest is Ohio House Representative Jena Powell. We discuss her bill to end abortion modeled after the Texas Heartbeat Law that authorizes private individuals to sue anyone performing or aiding in abortions and will protect preborn humans from fertilization.
With the imminent overturning of Roe v. Wade, state legislatures need to move expeditiously to enact protections for the unborn. The Texas Heartbeat Law has survived in the courts, and Ohio House Bill 480 is patterned after the Texas law. For this very reason, HB 480, if passed should become law in Ohio and be enforced irrespective of the US Supreme Courts’ determination in Dobbs v. Jackson.
Additionally, I give updates on Creating Equal’s projects and upcoming opportunities this summer, including our road trip to Washington DC for the Dobbs Decision Day.

On this episode, my guest, Blaise Alleyne, Eastern Outreach Director for the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, will discuss how the theory of change works backwards from the goal to figure out what must be done to achieve it.
Rather than just working forwards and asking, "what can I do?", CCBR has established a way of strategic thinking that works backwards, asking "what must be done?" This is a powerful paradigm shift that transformed how CCBR approaches pro-life strategy locally in Toronto, and across Canada.
As a student and volunteer activist, Blaise was inspired by CCBR's theory of change to end the killing in Canada, and now he is helping to carry out the strategy and make the vision a reality.
Also, last week the National Right to Life Committee released an Open Letter to state lawmakers directing them to exempt women from prosecution of illegal abortions in states that attempt to outlaw abortion.

This letter has created some debate on social media, especially after a bill introduced in Louisiana that provided equal protection was changed to exclude women from prosecution. I give my thoughts on this letter that calls for state legislators to exempt women for prosecution for illegal abortions.

Once Roe falls, the partnership consisting of the Pro-Life Action League, Created Equal, and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society are planning events across America to mark this historic moment and to set forth our plan for a post-Roe America.
The decision could come any day, but most SCOTUS observers expect the ruling to be announced the last week before summer recess (June 27-30).
On this episode, Mark interviews Eric Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League, about these developments and what living a post-Roe world will be like for residents of abortion havens like Illinois.
To get involved in this event, go to: https://overturnroe.org
We will also address whether the pro-abortion protests at justices’ homes and churches are protected First Amendment speech or violations of the law.

On this special episode, Mark will answer questions about the breaking news that Justice Samuel Alito has written a draft majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade. Politico is reporting that a draft majority opinion written by Justice Alito has overturned Roe. This comports with speculation last week that Chief Justice Roberts wasn't writing the majority decision and Alito was. If true, Roberts will likely join the liberals in dissent. Some of the questions to be answered are:
When Roe officially falls, states would be divided into abortion deserts, where it would be illegal to access abortion, and abortion havens, where abortion would continue to be available.
Based on the Center for Reproductive Right’s analysis, if the Supreme Court were to overturn Roe, abortion would remain legal in twenty-one states.

See a state-by-state abortion policy in the absence of Roe:

Between now and then, all of DC will be occupied with debates about packing the court, ending the filibuster, passing the Women’s Health Protection Act, and finding other means to circumvent the decision.

Recent events in Washington, DC have once again disclosed the gruesome nature of abortion. These events have demonstrated the powerful tactic of displaying victim imagery in the public square. For decades, pro-lifers have debated whether these images change public opinion. The fact is the evidence is overwhelming. Social reformers have never been successful in outlawing injustice by covering it up.
Today on the program, Mark lays out the case for why anti-abortion advocates should use abortion victim images in our defense of the unborn. Mark traces the historical use of these images and shares empirical as well as anecdotal evidence for their use. He answers the question: What would Jesus do?

John F. Kennedy famously said, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” It’s a proven fact that abortion victim images save lives. We’ve recorded many of the stories of saved babies and you can watch them by going to Created Equal’s YouTube page.
What is true about the effectiveness of abortion victim images is also true about ultrasound images. According to The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, 80 percent of abortion-minded mothers choose life after they saw their unborn baby via ultrasound.
If the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, there’s going to be a massive increase in the number of abortion-vulnerable mothers who will need Created Equal to help them choose life for their babies...something a mobile ultrasound unit can do.
Today on the program, Mark discusses his vision to place mobile pregnancy center vans in front of every abortion facility at borders to states that outlaw abortion to help pregnant women in crisis choose LIFE for their unborn child instead of abortion!
Additionally, Mark provides an update on the #JusticeForTheFive effort. To date, the DC government has refused to conduct an autopsy of the five late-term aborted babies retrieved from a waste hauler on March 25.

Because abortion is in the headlines, it’s imperative to take every opportunity to defend babies.
On this episode Mark speaks with Seth Drayer, VP of Created Equal, to lay out a road map for ending abortion using demand and supply side tactics.
On the demand side, we don’t need to be experts to reach people on abortion, but roadmaps are helpful. Hence, we are excited to share with you a brand new project: LetsTalkAbortion.com!
LetsTalkAbortion.com provides you a chance to choose what kind of conversation you want to have so that you can get a customized roadmap!
On the supply side, Project Weak Link can give you tools to expose the enablers of the abortion cartel. Here are some helpful links:
