President Trump’s upcoming announcement of his nominee for the Supreme Court has brought the issue of abortion and Roe v. Wade to the forefront this election season. What was a backburner issue now has become the pre-eminent issue facing the candidates.

On today’s episode, Mark talks with Seth Drayer, Vice President of Created Equal, about the lies the Roe v. Wade decision told.

Here are five lies told by Roe v. Wade:

We don’t know when life begins.

The unborn are non-persons and not protected by the 14th amendment.

The right to privacy protects a women’s right to choose.

Abortion is safer than childbirth, therefore abortion needs to be safe and legal.

Rape or incest is a valid reason for abortion.

The court took a neutral position and thus made abortion is a choice between the women and her doctor.

Should Christians defy the civil authorities? If so, when, and how? What about Roman 13? Is there a difference between biblical obedience vs. civil disobedience? Are pastors being selfish for holding services? By not opening, are churches agreeing with being considered non-essential?

Despite the clear admonition from scripture, even to this day, most churches in California remain closed due to the corona virus because of concerns over the health of their congregants. However, some churches are meeting anyway despite direct orders not to do so.  All the while Planned Parenthood, marijuana dispensaries, liquor stores, big box stores, and other retail establishments where large numbers of people gather and assemble remain open.

Recently, Grace Community Church made national news in California for defying Gov. Gavin Newsome’s order to hold religious services.

Heb 10:24-25 reads, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

Is this directive to meet conditional upon government approval? The good news is, other churches are beginning to wake up to what is going on.

Last night Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg died. Justice Ginsburg was only the second woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. She was 87. The cause of death was metastatic pancreatic cancer, according to a statement from the court. Ginsberg served for over 27 years.

Now, the replacement of Ginsberg is front and center in the presidential election in just 45 days.

By now, you have heard about the controversy surrounding the Netflix film Cuties. Let me clear, I have seen the movie nor do I plan on doing so. But I have seen and read enough to join the chorus of condemnation. The film has been rightly criticized for its sexual exploitation of children.

The producers of the film defend it on the grounds it is documentary against the exploitation of children. But Netflix can’t criticize child porn by promoting it!

The sad truth is we have been losing this battle for decades. It all began with the sexual revolution. Now, fifty years later we see the “Love has no age” movement gaining steam. Boycotting Netflix is a necessary. But we are so far behind the eight ball, we need something more to bring us back from the brink.  Nothing short of a national spiritual revival will heal our land.

Today, I will discuss the Netflix film with Jonathan Van Maren from the Canadian Centre for Bio Ethical Reform. We will also connect the dots between pornography and abortion.  The fact is, both abortion and pornography are all about commodifying--and victimizing--those it consumes.
