Mark talks about being on Saskatchewan snowboard team from a young age while playing competitive hockey at the same time. He talks about the injuries he has endured over his career, training to bounce back from them, and almost dying from a ruptured spleen.
Mark talks about his competition results (17 X-Games medals and 2 Olympic medals) and which ones stick out most to him and which one was the sketchiest.
Mark has a brother Craig - who is also a professional snowboarder - and he tells us about that dynamic. He also discusses what it takes beyond doing tricks to make it as a professional snowboarder, the people and mentors in his life, and his personal relationships with Terje and Jake Burton.
McMorris tells us about his foundation and the work they do for underprivileged kids getting to play sports.
He tells us about filming in the streets of Finland and the backcountry of Alaska.
“Be the person you want to meet. Be the coolest guy you can be and treat people with respect and it’s not all about how many f*ckin spins you do and this and that. That’s my main advice to those kids is: don’t be a dick, literally. They can be punks sometimes so you gotta slap it in.”
