  • Ep. 32 - How To Ethically Leverage Swipe Files In Your Business

Swipe files allow for you to write copy, create graphics, and cut your marketing time in half, because rather than starting from scratch, you can "swipe" what others have already created. The trick is... you have to do it ETHICALLY! It's not ok to copy people's text or even their images, but you CAN model the structure and allow their ideas to inspire you.

    Timestamped Show Notes

    • 0:52 – Introduction.
    • 1:51– I am not suggesting that you steal or copy but you can take pictures of what's working for others to reduce your research time in the future and ensure that your marketing is following best practices.
    • 2:16 – So if I see a landing page that's working really well and I know that that landing page is driving sales then I can click a picture of that landing page and evaluate the layout of the page and use it as a model to create my own pages without copying their images and text.
    • 2:58 – If I come across someone's Facebook ad that grabs my attention and causes me to stop scrolling through my newsfeed, I know that ad worked because it worked on me so I will put that in my swipe files and when I am creating my Facebook ad I will have a look at the swipe file of Facebook ads that caught my attention and create images that are similar and have the same idea and theory behind them.
    • 3:53 - The first type of swipe file is publicity swipes. So when you see an influencer in your industry that has been featured on an online magazine, interviewed on a podcast, spoken on a particular stage or in some way gained some sort of publicity you take a picture of it and upload it to a folder called publicity swipes where you keep records of the publicity that your competitors are getting so you can reach out and pitch those same outlets too.
    • 6:02 – The second type of swipe file is funnel swipes when you opt in to a mailing list and you get sent on some type of funnel and you realize that it is working because either you are buy it or you realize that it is working because they have shared their numbers you should take a picture of every stage of the funnel and also the ads, landing pages, upsell pages. I also note down the URLs of the pages of the funnel that I like and I buy from so that you can model the layout of the funnel.
    • 9:18 – The third type of swipe file is email swipes so when you sign up for someone's mailing list and you get a newsletter that you really like or the person is running a sale to their list and you realize that the sale went really well you should store a copy of those emails in folder in your inbox so that when you are running a sale to your list you can model the structure and intent of their emails.
    • 11:04 – The fourth type is content swipes so when you see someone running a program, hosting a webinar, doing a Facebook live or writing a blog article about something that you could reuse for ideas later on then take a picture of it or make a note of it and store it in a content ideas folder so that in the future when you have no idea what to talk about on your next Facebook live or blog post you can use the content swipe folder for inspiration.
    • 12:39 – The last type of swipe file is graphic swipes so when you come across a Facebook ad that really stands out in your newsfeed or a promotional image that you see in a Facebook group that catches your eye or if you look at someone's brand photography for example if you look at my website and you really like the pose that I did in this picture, take a picture of it and put it in a graphics swipe folder so that in the future when you are creating Facebook ads you have Facebook Ads that you can look at.

  • Ep. 31 - How To Compare Yourself To The RIGHT Humans with Business Strategist Adrienne Dorison

We've all had our fair share of "comparitis" symptoms... It's so tempting to see what other entrepreneurs are doing successfully and get bummed out, frustrated, or impatient. I used to envy millionaires, so much so that I had to consciously remove triggers from my Facebook News Feed to keep my mindset straight. Well, in today's episode, Business Strategist Adrienne Dorison will be sharing with us how to compare yourself THE RIGHT WAY... to the RIGHT people... and set yourself up for mindset success!

    Time Stamped Show Notes

    • 1:54 – Introduction.
    • 7:31 - Adrienne says that everyone experiences comparison and some people think that those who are experiencing more external success aren't comparing themselves but you learn to compare yourself less or you try to get those self-triggers in place so that you do not experience a lot of despair when that starts to happen. Collaborating and lifting each other up is the best option. There is a dangerous thing that happens when we just look at what someone else is doing and feel disappointed at our own results or even use what they are doing from the outside as a clue to what we should be doing because we don't know what's going on behind the scenes with them and if we start comparing with them and then we get in the negative mind frame thinking that why didn't I do that or I did all the same things that she did and I still didn't achieve what she did so there must be something wrong with me.
    • 9:14 – I am a competitive person but I try to compare myself to myself more than anything to be the best version of myself but I can also look to my peers and be inspired and motivated do not try to put down others for what they are doing because that's a form of judgement because when you do that you are comparing yourself and putting yourself in a negative space and that other person is not even paying attention to you. There is not positive outcome from this unless you are using it as a motivational or inspirational thing.
    • 12:07 - Tip # 1: You need to know what stage of phase are you in because if you are comparing yourself to people who are at completely different phases of business you are really not being fair to yourself and you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
    • 12:23 – Adrienne has broken things down into three different phases of business.
    • 12:28 – The first phase is profit which is for early entrepreneurs or people who are just starting to make money or making money but not profit.
    • 12:49 – The second phase is the momentum phase where you have consistent profits and you are able to expand what you are doing, start automating a little more, start building a little bit more of your credibility, start doing up levels on your content and start creating things like courses.
    • 13:12 – The final phase is leader when you really want to start scaling and delegating massively to your team and working on team development and focusing on the things that only you can do like scaling your courses, scaling your business and up levelling even more in terms of the production quality of the things you do potentially.
    • 15:05 – Tip # 2: Each phase has its own activities and you should know the activities for each phase. So in the profit phase you need to be focused on cash injection activities. For example, someone who is in profit phase should not focus on a sales funnel rather he should focus on things like client research and try to get cash flow injected in your business. Don't build a sales funnel if you are in profit phase.
    • 17:22 – Hiring someone for your PR is the best thing that you can do for your business because you are going to get seen on different media outlets but if you are in profit phase or in momentum phase that's not the best thing for your business.
    • 18:10 – You should know what stage of business you are in so that you are not getting fooled by what's out there and what you are comparing yourself to. You might not need a guest posting strategy right now you might need to focus on building that list or getting cash injection. If you are in the momentum phase you need to do credibility building, if you are in the leader phase maybe you do need to start really systematizing and getting SOPs in place and onboarding new team members.
    • 19:09 – Tip # 3: You have to be relentless with your time, you need to identify what is your most important mission for the day. You need to focus on your own stuff and figure out what you need to doing. Instead of criticizing others save your time and focus on achieving your own results. Focus for an hour, stop looking on social media while you are trying to do work.
    • 21:08 – Once you spend that one hour every morning identifying your most important tasks you are less likely to compare yourself to other people because you feel really confident and proud and the self-doubt is reduced because you actually got something done versus sitting on social media and comparing yourself to others and feeling like I didn't get anything done today and I am such a failure.
    • 22:09 – You should connect and collaborate and reach out to people that you think you are interested in talking to. Being business best friends with the people that you compare yourself to because then you know the behind scenes of their business and you also get to hear the bad stuff or you get to hear when they too are comparing themselves or when they too are having a bad day.
    • 22:54 – When you create friendships with people in the industry not just looking for clients but really looking for peers to build and support each other then you have a look behind the scenes sometimes.
    • 23:10 – I have an accountability partner that I speak to every week I hear the good and the bad, I ask her for feedback and advice and I know I can hopefully compare myself to her without it being toxic. You need to find friends that you can start collaborating with and have a chat on a weekly basis so you compare yourself to them in a good way.
    • 24:53 – It was the greatest things for me to join a peer mastermind as I entered the group there were people that I was putting on a pedestal and I made it known to them that I had been looking up to them and as weeks and months go by we start seeing each other's stuff and feel this is kind of good.

  • Ep. 30 – 10-Step System For Taking Your Webinar From Concept To Automation

Today's episode is all about launching webinars that pay you, and my 10-step system for taking your webinar from conception to automation. This is the same system that I teach my clients, and it's the same system that I use in my own business. I talked about webinars for a whole week in my Facebook group, The Balanced Entrepreneur, where I post exclusive tips and resources for my community every day. I also taught about the topic live on my Facebook fan page as Facebook Lives, so like it if you don't want to miss out in the future.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 1:00 – Introduction
    • 2:00 – I'm excited to share my 10-step webinar system. I've only been teaching it to my clients for a long time and it's been very successful. I use this system to turn $60 into $100 every time I make a sale using my automated webinar. I use this system to generate 100 phone calls on my company's sales calendar per month. My clients have used it to turn $331 into $16,000. It's a very powerful system, and it works.
    • 3:15 – Step 1: Make a high converting headline. When you decide you want to run a webinar, the very first thing you have to do is nail your positioning with a high converting headline, one that not only gets people to click but also to opt in because they really want to see this webinar. You have to nail that headline, because everything else can't be done if you don't know what your webinar is about.
    • 5:50 – Step 2: Create landing pages. You can't get people on the webinar if they're not registering for it, and once you have a headline that should be enough to create your landing pages.
    • 6:20 – You need at least three landing pages: 1) Landing page for cold traffic. These people need more information, because they need to be persuaded. 2) Landing page for warm traffic. This is for people who already know you, like people on your email list or social media channels. These people need less information and will recognize you from your headshot. 3) Thank you page. A lot of people don't think of your thank you page as a landing page, but I do because you always want to make use of your thank you page. You have their attention, so use it.
    • 8:15 – Step 3: Set up your event in your webinar software. Choose the date and time of your webinar, then set it up beforehand. I use Instant Teleseminar to do live webinars, because I have found it is the most fully featured and easy to access webinar. The most important features are its ease of access, the option to join from a phone or desktop environment, and the option for a call-to-action button on the webinar page. If you want to sign up for that, go to com/instant.
    • 10:30 – Step 4: Create your show up sequence. This is the sequence of emails that gets sent to your registrants to remind them to show up live. Just because people register doesn't mean they're going to show up. Only about 30% of people who register show up live. You need to remind them to show up, and you need to persuade them that it's valuable to show up live. Every email should be crafted with the single goal and mission of getting people to show up live.
    • 12:15 – Step 5: Promote your webinar. You only need those four things set up before you're ready to promote. While you're promoting, you can work on everything else. The shorter your promotional period, the higher your show up rate is going to be. If you have a smaller or nonexistent list, give yourself more promotional time, but use and supplement your promotions with something like Facebook Ads.
    • 14:35 – Step 6: Finish your follow-up sequence. On your webinar you are going to pitch something, and you are going to send these emails afterwards to remind people about your pitch. You want them to be done by the time your webinar goes live.
    • 15:45 – Step 7: Finish your slides. When it comes to the slides, I recommend having a reusable template. This will make setting up future webinars much easier.
    • 16:45 – Step 8: Do your webinar live. Give yourself 60-90 minutes to give the webinar and answer questions. When it comes to Instant Teleseminar, I usually call in for the audio (you can also do a web call and connect a microphone). I use my computer to manage my slides, and I use my email to look at people's questions.
    • 18:00 – Step 9: Review your webinar, tweak what doesn't work, and run it again. You might not make sales the first time, and that's okay. A common mistake people make is going into these seminars thinking it will be perfect and convert sales the first time. You can't expect to get everything perfect the first time. Everything in marketing is testing or tweaking.
    • 20:10 – Step 10: Once it's perfect, automate it. I do this through Stealth Seminar. Typically, you just have to open a support ticket. You tell the people at Stealth Seminar the name of your webinar, when you want it to run, that you want it to appear live, and that you want it automated. You give them your video file and landing page, and then they will take care of the rest.

  • Ep. 29 – The 7 Numbers That Will Skyrocket Your Webinar Sales

I'm going to show you how to increase sales on your webinars. A lot of people teach live webinars, but once you get into automation there can be a lot to keep track of. Let me teach you the seven key numbers that you want to track to perfect your webinar.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 1:00 – Introduction
    • 1:40 – There are seven key numbers that you want to track to perfect your webinar.
    • 1:50 – 1: Cost per lead. This is how much money it costs for every lead that registers for your webinar. If you are using Facebook Ads, you can calculate this number by dividing the total amount you spend on the ad by the total number of registrants. I aim for $3 / lead, but I am okay with spending up to $5 / lead (or more) if the webinar is making money.
    • 2:20 – 2: Landing page conversion. This is the percentage of people who come to your landing page and actually register for your webinar. I typically get 40-78% of my mailing list opting in for webinars, but you're looking for %20 minimum. If you're using a software like Leadpages to create your landing page, that will give you the statistic right in your dashboard.
    • 3:00 – 3: Show up rate. This is the percentage of people who registered for your webinar and actually showed up live. Even if you get people registering, not everyone is going to show up. You're looking for around 30% of those who register to show up live. If you're using software like Instant Teleseminar, it should tell you inside of your dashboard how many people showed up.
    • 3:40 – 4: Stick rate. This is the percentage of people who show up live to your webinar and actually stick around until the end to hear your pitch. You're looking for around 90% of your viewers to stick until the end. If you're using software like Stealth Seminar, it should actually show you by the time stamp when people are leaving so that you can see when people are losing interest.
    • 4:10 – 5: Live pitch conversion. This is the percentage of people who showed up live to the webinar and actually take you up on your offer. To calculate this number, just divide the number of sales by the number of people who show up. Typically you're aiming for around 20% if it's a phone call pitch, but I've actually had clients get as high as 60% using my webinar model.
    • 4:35 – 6: Sales page conversion. This is the conversion on your sales page, meaning the percentage of people who visit your sales page and actually end up buying. If I make a profit and the conversion for my pitch is good, I don't worry about this too much. If I notice that not a lot of sales are happening, I want to know if the sales page is a problem. The average sales page converts 2-10%
    • 5:20 – 7: Follow-up conversion. You want to look at how many people are signing up from your follow-up emails. I don't have an exact number I look for here, but I want the follow up to double or triple my phone calls or sales. You have to remember, not everyone who opts in will show up, and not everyone who shows up will accept your offer.

  • Ep. 28 – Unlocking the Power Of Your Story – with Jessica Rasdall

Today I am talking to motivational speaker, transformational coach and story expert Jessica Rasdall. All this week in The Balanced Entrepreneur Facebook Group, we are talking about Webinars, and how to leverage them to make automated sales and get a ton of phone calls on your calendar without lifting a finger. Jessica is an expert at unlocking the power of your story, which is a critical piece of any webinar, virtual event or live event. You have to have that story.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 0:00 – Introduction
    • 1:00 – Jessica is a motivational speaker and transformational coach who has shared her story of turning her mess into a message for nearly 10 years. When Jessica was in college, she made a life-altering decision that resulted in the death of her best friend. Jessica spoke to over 15,000 young adults across the country before she was sentenced to prison, and today she helps entrepreneurs craft their signature stories.
    • 1:50 – Jessica's clients are transforming what were once considered liabilities into some of their greatest business assets.
    • 4:00 – Jessica has three tips for leveraging storytelling in your business.
    • 4:15 – Tip #1: Leverage your story to turn people into brand advocates. When you are thinking about your story and your business, and making that connection, you have to understand the power of that. If you take the time to stand behind your message, people start to trust you. Don't give them everything about your story, because that will make them more interested once they trust you.
    • 7:00 – When you craft your story, you basically tell people:
      • Who you are
      • What you do
      • Who you do it for
      • Why in the world you do it
      • And what's happening because of that
    • 8:25 – "The part I think that we tend to leave out in our story, that is just as important as where you've been … is, 'Where are you going?' " If you can cast a vision and craft that out for other people, they will want to stand with you. You don't want your audience to be waiting.
    • 10:10 – "When they can feel like they're on this journey with you, they're going to go to bat for you. They're all in. That's the difference between having a follower and having a brand advocate."
    • 11:10 – Tip #2: Own your own story. If you don't tell your story, someone else is going to tell it for you. "Once you put it out there the way you want to put it out there, people will continue to spread it."
    • 12:45 – How do you handle the emotion behind your story so that you can own it?
      • Focus on the audience you are there to serve, and how you plan to serve them. Realize that if you cry through the whole presentation, your message will not come through.
      • When you are crafting your story, try to separate emotion from facts. Look at what happened and establish the facts of the situation. Once you begin to just look at the pieces of it like a puzzle, it becomes a lot easier to crack. "My client needs something specific from me. So I'm going to do whatever I have to do to take those puzzles pieces and arrange them in a way that's going to serve them the best."
    • 18:40 – "My biggest tip I can give you when you're telling your story is to make it visual." What are they focusing on? If it's not the message, you need to change something.
    • 20:15 - Tip #3: The power of crafting your story. When you take the time to craft out your story, it gives you the power to rewrite it. "If I was going to share my story, I wanted it to be from a place of power, not from pain."
    • 23:05 – "You can take your story and share it in so many outlets, as long as you are creating a message in there."
    • 23:35 – Something small that we often leave out is why we do what we do. When we are giving an elevator pitch, we tell people what we do, but we also need to tell them why. Make them understand you are being authentic, and they will be more likely to reciprocate.
    • 26:25 – Jessica has a gift: a worksheet that will help you craft out your own story.

  • Ep. 27 – 5 Tips To Maximize Your Sales Funnels

Today I have five tips for you to maximize your sales funnels so that they generate clients for your business with ease. I talked about automation for a whole week in my Facebook group, The Balanced Entrepreneur, so come on by if you don't want to miss out on the exclusive tips and resources I share with my community every day. I also taught about the topic live on my Facebook fan page as Facebook Lives, so like it if you don't want to miss out in the future.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 1:00 – Introduction
    • 2:30 – Tip #1: There are so many sales funnels to choose from, so just choose one to master at a time. There are challenge funnels, webinar funnels, telesummits, giveaways, video funnels, tripwire funnels, and so many more. When you are first starting, it can be tempting to learn more than one. Keep it simple and master one at a time, until you can consistently get results.
    • 4:35 – Tip #2: The automated phone call webinar is a great start for entrepreneurs diving into sales funnels and marketing automation for the first time. I find that webinars are the best place to start because they are relatively simple to implement, they are automatable, and it's simple to sell from.
    • 5:15 – Here's how the phone call webinar works: Send traffic to your webinar landing page. When people register for the webinar, send out reminder emails. Some people will show up, some people won't. At the end of the webinar, pitch a phone call. Get them to schedule a time to talk about your services. When you get them on the phone, offer them something (if they're the right fit for you). Send an email to anyone who registers but doesn't schedule a phone call, offering him or her the opportunity to talk to you on the phone.
    • 6:35 – The entire point of this webinar is to get people on the phone, so you probably want to have a scheduling software like AppointmentCore set up. This is an easy offer, because getting someone on the phone is easier than getting someone to buy something.
    • 7:00 – Master this phone call webinar first, and then do another webinar with a paid pitch. Instead of pitching a phone call, pitch an offer where they have to buy directly from the webinar. Once you master that, you can do something besides a webinar.
    • 7:50 – Tip #3: Use your free content as a way to qualify your funnel traffic. One of the biggest problems people have with webinars, and just sales funnels in general, is that they have difficulty getting people to buy products when they send people to the funnel. This is because the prospects aren't ready yet. They don't know they can trust you yet. It's not enough to get traffic coming through your funnels; you have to get qualified traffic. If you send your prospect to a free e-book or blog post before you present them with an offer, they will be more ready to make a purchase.
    • 9:50 – Tip #4: Always have follow-up sequences in place for your sales funnels. One of the big mistakes I see people make after doing these webinars is doing nothing; they just add prospective clients to their newsletter without ever doing anything else. I include four emails after all of my sales funnels that will remind people, or tell people about, my paid offers. This follow-up sequence quadrupled my phone calls and my sales.
    • 11:20 – Tip #5: Maximize your purchasers by making more than one offer. One thing I learned very quickly after launching my membership program, The Pack, is that the people who buy from you once are much more likely to buy from you again. Set up your sales funnels and offers so that there is always a next step, so that you can maximize your purchasers and make more than one offer.

  • Ep. 26 – 3 Simple Sales Funnels You Can Implement In Your Business

Today I'm going to walk you through the three simple sales funnels you can implement in your business. Before I automated my sales funnels, I was overworking, feeling massively underpaid, and the business was completely dependent on my effort. Now, however, I sleep in until 9 AM every day. I design my own day the way I prefer, and I spend pretty much every weekend right now at the beach. This life of mine is so important to me, but I want you to be able to create that too.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 1:00 – Introduction
    • 2:15 – Sales Funnel #1: A phone call funnel. The idea here is to create an automated way to get qualified leads on the phone. This is the funnel I recommend you start with, because scheduling a call is an easier call-to-action than providing credit card information. Once you're on the phone, you can try to sell them any product you want.
    • 3:20 – Sales Funnel #2: A break-even funnel. The idea here is not to make a profit, but instead to cover the money you spend on advertising and add new names to your mailing list. You're breaking even in terms of money, but you're growing your list in the process, which means that you can sell to them later.
    • 3:50 – A great way to get people onto your list is a free lead magnet, then directly after they opt in you offer them something at an entry-level price point ($7 to $97).
    • 4:10 – Sales Funnel #3: A high-ticket offer funnel. The idea here is to make a big profit off of a higher ticket item. You're selling to fewer people, but at a higher price point. I find the best way to do this is to get your phone call and break-even funnels set up first. This will get customers in the door. If you give your customers a really great experience, they will be the easiest people to sell your highest ticket items to. Once your prospect is ready for a high-ticket item, introduce your offer to them and get them to fill out an application to talk about the program.

    • 5:30 – Why should business owners run Facebook ads, and who should do it in particular? "Basically, if you have a business and you want to get more clients, or more customers, you should be using Facebook ads," unless your products are related to drugs, alcohol, sex or gambling.
    • 6:10 – People tend to be afraid of Facebook ads because they are so complicated, but Kamila assures us that this is not the case.
    • 6:40 – You either have to invest time into manually, personally marketing products on Facebook and building SEO… or you can Work Smarter, work less and let Facebook Ads do the work for you. The ultimate goal is the same: you are still driving traffic.
    • 7:40 – If you are brand new, don't start running ads right away, "If you are not entirely clear who you are trying to sell to, or what you're selling."
    • 8:45 – Kamila has three tips for getting great results with Facebook Ads.
    • 8:55 – Tip #1: Get all of your ducks in order before you spend a cent on Facebook ads. Make sure you have your offers ready, know your ideal customer, know the purpose of the ad, and have a sales funnel in place.
    • 9:30 – Sales funnels are a very important part of using Facebook Ads. "What's the point of you growing your list, or getting people interested in what you have to offer, then not doing anything with those leads… like anything at all." You're making it harder to get the return.
    • 10:30 – A lot of the people who say they are Facebook Advertising Experts only focus on getting engagement or likes on a page, and there's no real strategy or funnel in place to turn those ads into cash. Not Kamila!
    • 11:30 - Tip #2: Know the best types of Facebook Ads for you to run based on the marketing strategy that you have.
    • 11:40 – Page Like ads will grow your page, which can be good if you are starting from 0, but your Likes will increase regardless of which types of ad you run. Re-targeting Like ads is often more expensive, and less effective, than targeted cold traffic. It's better to focus on a sales funnel and conversion system.
    • 13:10 – The best type of ad to focus on is Website Conversion. Use an ad to drive traffic to a landing page, webinar page, or whatever you are trying to get leads for.
    • 13:25 – You can also run Clicks to Website ads, if you are planning on pixeling them so that you can then run re-targeting ads and make those conversions cheaper.
    • 14:30 – "A conversion is when someone visits that site, and then actually converts into being a lead." The people who click on your Facebook ad convert when they opt-in.
    • 15:10 – If your goal is to get leads, Clicks To Website ads are not the best choice, because Facebook will optimize the ad by showing it to people who are the most likely to click on the ad, not the most likely to convert by clicking through to the site and opting in.
    • 16:30 – Within 24 hours of Kamila setting up my first two Website Conversion ads, the click through rate was over 10%. It can be difficult to get a 1% click through rate – I have been able to get 3-4% myself.
    • 17:05 – Kamila is running ads to a cold audience, and the ads have a cost per lead of less than $2. That's going directly to one of my webinars.
    • 18:00 – For most service- and value-based businesses, Kamila has specific benchmarks:
      • She tries to keep cost per conversion around or under $3.50
      • For evergreen opt-ins (checklists, toolkits, ebooks), she tries to keep the cost per conversion under $2.00. Sometimes they will be $1.00 or less.
    • 22:55 – Tip #3: Know what to track.
      • When you are running the right types of ads, Website Conversion Ads, you will be very easily able to track the cost per conversion.
      • Click through rate is the percentage of people who actually click on your ad after seeing it
      • If you aren't able to run website conversion ads, overall clicks and the conversions is important
      • Look at the relevant score, which you can check on the Ad level. If people flag your ad, or a lot of people see it and don't click on it, then Facebook might not like you or suspend your account. Any score above 6 is good. If the score is less than 5, tweak the ad or the offer.
    • 23:25 – Any metric under 1% needs to be improved. You either need to work on the ad itself, or adjust the audience it is being marketed towards.
    • 23:50 – If your conversion is low and your click through rate is low, you know that people aren't going to the site to convert. You probably need to work on the ad itself to pull more people in.
    • 24:05 – If the click through rate is high, but the conversion is low, then the offer probably needs to be improved.
    • 25:30 – Testing ads is incredibly important. Sometimes changing the copy or presentation of the ad will frame your audience differently, and prepare them to convert more often.
    • 31:00 – Kamila has a gift to help you get all of your ducks in order. She has an e-book that will help you structure your strategy, build a good offer and set up effective funnels.

  • Ep. 24 – 5 Pieces Of Automation Software That I Use In My Business

Today's episode is all about the five pieces of automation software that I use in my business, and that you can use to save yourself time and take work off of your plate for good. I spent a week talking about this in my Facebook group, The Balanced Entrepreneur, which you can join for free. I post exclusive tips and resources for my community every single day, and you'll be able to join me live next time I talk on FBLive.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 1:00 – Introduction
    • 2:30 – If you want to grow your business without growing your work load, and you want to know what to automate but you don't know how to automate it, I am here to introduce you to five pieces of automation software that you have to know about.
    • 3:00 – 1: Meet Edgar is a social media scheduling software that is about $49 / month. I use Meet Edgar to send traffic to my offers my posting about my content and my offers on my social media pages. I create my content in bulk and then schedule it once a quarter with Meet Edgar. It also helps to keep some of the social media accounts active that I don't use daily.
    • 6:20 – 2: Stealth Seminar is what I use for webinar automation. I have Stealth Seminar and a plugin for it that integrates with Infusionsoft. Between Stealth Seminar and the plugin, it's $129 / month. I use this as my conversion system. I launch new webinars live first to my list using Instant Teleseminar. When they convert and actually make me money, I convert them immediately into an automated, evergreen webinar using Stealth Seminar.
    • 8:40 – 3: AppointmentCore is what I use for scheduling automation. It is $27 / month. AppointmentCore is essentially the way I get people on my sales calendar. You just send someone a link to your scheduler, your availability is on there, and they choose. When you hire team members, you can even add them to your account and include multiple people on one booking link. It also integrates with InfusionSoft and can send automatic follow-up emails.
    • 12:05 – 4: InfusionSoft serves as a traffic system, conversion system and delivery system. I pay around $300 / month. It is a traffic system because, when I get people onto my mailing list, I can send newsletters that promote offers. It's a conversion system because, when people click on those emails, they buy from the email. It's a delivery system because, when they opt-in or purchase, I can deliver the offers through email. The most important use for it is the email sequencing and automation. If you're not techy, I do recommend having a VA assist you with setting this up. If you go to com/team, you can download a list that includes InfusionSoft virtual assistants.
    • 15:35 – 5: AccessAlly is my content delivery system. It is $79 / month. AccessAlly is membership software that integrates with InfusionSoft. I use it to deliver my programs. When someone buys, they are added to my membership site and AccessAlly gives them their content. This is the most automatable and customizable membership software I have found out there. It also allows you to cross-promote your programs within the membership portal.
    • 17:40 – AccessAlly is also extremely complicated, but there are certified partners who know how to use the software and can set it up for you. I used Ekcetera Design & Marketing. Again, if you want to download my vendors list, head to com/team.
    • 19:40 – I want to address common fears with automation:
    • 19:50 – "This is just too much money." These five pieces of software are $584 / month, and that automates nearly every aspect of your business. If you think about it, you probably only need to make one or two sales to make your money back. If you have these systems in place, you will also have multiple funnels for making that sale.
    • 21:45: - "This will take too long to set up because these tools are complicated." It may take about 40 hours to put these processes in place. If you don't use Meet Edgar, you will probably spend at least 30 minutes posting to social media a day – If you do that five days a week for 12 months, that will take you 120 hours. If you don't use Stealth Seminar, you will have to manually redo every seminar. Between setup and promotion, that's about 48 hours a year. If you don't use AppointmentCore, that's 10 hours a year if you only spend 10 minutes a week scheduling. If you aren't using InfusionSoft, you have to manually follow up with your sales leads. If you spend one hour a week, that's 50 hours. If you don't use AccessAlly, you'll have to send your course materials manually. If you run an eight-week program and each week takes you about one hour to deliver, that's 24 hours. All in all, you're saving about 152 hours per year (and that's a conservative estimate).
    • 24:40 – "It's just too complicated." If that's the case, the truth is you just have to hire help. You can go to com/team to help you find someone who can help, and they're people I have used and trusted over the years.

  • Ep. 23 – 3 Types Of Emails To Send To A New Subscriber On Your List

I'm going to walk you through the three types of emails that you want to send to someone as soon as they join your mailing list. I know it can be hard to figure out how many emails to send to your mailing list, and what to include in those emails so that they don't end up in the junk mail, but I'm here to help.

    Time Stamped Show Notes
    • 1:00 – Introduction
    • 1:57 – "These are the only three types of emails that you need to send the moment someone signs up for your list to turn the from subscriber to paying client."
    • 2:05 – The first email is the welcome email or indoctrination sequence. Once someone joins your list, you want to make sure their welcome experience really wows them from day one. The first email that they get is going to determine if they continue to open and click on your emails. In your welcome email, you want to share your story, let them know what to expect from you in future emails, and open up a hook for the next email that you are going to send.
    • 3:00 – The second email is your delivery email or consumption sequence. Typically, when someone joins a mailing list it is because they opted in for some sort of free gift. It is in your benefit, and theirs, for them to actually use and consume that free gift. After your welcome email, track what your subscribers are doing. If they aren't clicking on the gift, then send them reminders to make sure that they consume it.
    • 3:40 – The third email is your follow up email or sales sequence. Typically, every free gift should have a pitch that leads into another offer. Just in case the subscriber doesn't consume the free gift that they opted in for, or if they don't take you up on the pitch right away, you want a follow up sequence in place to remind them about your offer. Typically I use a sequence of about four emails.
    • 4:45 – If you want an example of how this works so you can see it all in action for yourself, then head over to the resources tab on com. No matter what stage of business you're in, I'll teach you how to get to the next level faster with work smarter marketing strategies.
