Nesan Nair from Sasfin Securities chose Apple as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Apple, they significantly hit the $2 trillion market cap and some analysts are calling it to 3 trillion so let's wait and see"

Andile Buthelezi from Sentio Capital chose MTN as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going for MTN, on a number of different matrix the stock is looking undervalued, especially compared to their peers like Vodacom. Yes they didn't pay an interim dividend but indications are that they will probably pay an end of year dividend so on that basis it's trading on a 6,5% dividend yield."

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose ASML as her stock pick of the day

"My stockpit is ASML, it's a Dutch company that has 85% of the market share in providing tools for making computer chips. They edge circuits onto semiconductors and it has a return an equity of 24% and a price earnings ratio of 35%, so it's not demanding if you look at other technology companies. ASML is also the only provider of extreme ultraviolet lithography which will be used in next generation chips in all smartphones etc. The market for that is expected to grow by 25% per annum for the next few years, so in addition to having a very good current business, it has very good growth potential as well."

David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose BHP as his stock pick of the day and Martin Smith from Anchor Capital chose MTN.

Shapiro said: "I'm very happy to buy BHP because the iron-ore price is at $120 a ton. What's very interesting is that bulletin is up almost 30% this year to date which is way above the overall index. It's a pretty solid number."

Smith said: "MTN is a stock that I like, they came out with a solid set of numbers recently, obviously there was a little bit of disappointment around dividends and it remains to be seen what happens with a final year dividend in the coming months. It's still one that I think offers good value and I think there's a nice upside there"

Waldo du Plessis from Nitrogen Fund Managers chose Naspers as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going to go with Naspers, Tencent results were out this week which were a resounding beat on market expectations, but Tencent has this overhang of this executive order that Trump has signed in which will ban transactions with Wechat and that could flow out into Tencent's expansion plans. The reason I still go for Naspers is because it is trading at a heavy discount, probably its widest discount ever to Tencent and that is just offering compelling value in this market."

Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose Distell as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going for Distell, they managed to hold their own and for the year to date they managed to do 45%. They have a PE of almost 4 and a dividend yield of almost 6%, it's not doing to bad I think on the whole it looks much better and one way or the other they should be able to correct any time soon."

David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose Facebook as his stock pick of the day and market commentator Nolwandle Mthombeni chose Quilter.

Shapiro said: "I like the company that we all like to hate, Mark Zuckerberg's wealth has now gone through 100 billion for a valid reason and I think in this kind of environment and as we go into lockdown I can only see companies like Facebook just getting stronger and stronger.

Mthombeni said: "My stock pick is Quilter, I think the market has recovered quite well and they're a defensive company. With so much uncertainty I think their benefitting from the flows going into to the business"​

Nesi Chetty from Stanlib chose Investec Property Fund as his stock pick of the day.

"Investec Property Fund is one that we've liked for a while now and looking at the portfolio over time, they built up quite an exciting portfolio in SA, together with their expansive offshore footprint into european logistics business. Over time they have been getting quite good traction, rental income and yield on their offshore portfolio. There's still a continuous rigorous focus on their balance sheet management and they've done quite well to preserve cash."

Kwame Antwi from KOA Capital chose Caterpillar Inc as his stock pick of the day.

"Caterpillar is one of the companies that we've been looking at recently and is one of those companies that have suffered quite significantly. But, we think that it has got good cash on the balance sheet and is very well poised to benefit from the upside."

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose MTN as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going to go with MTN, they're going to report their results on Thursday and they've come up to the trading update which is quite positive. I think for them to be scrapping the interim dividend is the right thing to do in this environment. They do have a higher debt burden that needs to be dealt with so I think if you look at the dividend yield going forward, it's still on a 6.5% dividend yield, trading at the 3,5 times EV to ebitda multiple and that is showing good value. MTN is also benefiting from Covid and work from home phenomena"
