Independent Market Commentator, Nolwandle Mthombeni chose Netcare Pref Shares as her stock pick of the day.

Netcare pref shares is my pick and the market is very attractive because you're getting a very good yield. There's no dividends going around, especially if you look at the banks - none of them are declaring. So with the recent update that Netcare had earlier this week showing that the occupancies are improving, I'm picking the Netcare pref shares.

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Amazon as her stock pick of the day.

"It's a bit odd because Amazon is one of the fangs that is trading almost at an all-time high, however it had to delay its prime day by a few months because it's now announced the date for prime to be the 14th and 15th of October and that is probably going to be extended almost to Black Friday and beyond. Amazon have been a real beneficiary of the e-commerce tailwinds and this is probably going to be one of their best prime days ever. So, as a short-term trading opportunity, bearing in mind what's happening in the tech stocks keep an eye on that."

Viv Govender from Rand Swiss Offshore chose cash as his stock pick of the day.

"I would be looking to hold my cash until the US election in November, it's not that far away and the first debate will tomorrow between Biden and Trump and i do think that it's going to be one of the more volatile periods that the market has experienced."

Andile Buthelezi from Sentio Capital chose Impala Platinum as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Impala Platinum, I think similar to all the other pgm miners this company is generating a lot of cash right now. The pgm basket price has proven to be rather resilient right to this crisis, especially if you look at what palladium and rhodium prices have done. Impala Platinum has a strong balance sheet, they actually find themselves in a make cash position which is not a bad place to be in this uncertain time. More importantly I think they've committed to paying out a lot of that cash to their shareholders.'

Waldo du Plessis from Nitrogen Fund Managers chose Naspers as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick is Naspers, the rand has strengthened quite a bit recently. Nasper still trades at its widest discounts around 56% which leaves an investor that's bearish on rand and positive on global tech with a 56%

to entry point."

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Sanlam as her stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick is a boring product by the name of Sanlam which I'm sure everybody is familiar with. This stock has just gone on for decades just out performing the All share, increasing its dividend which is now at 6%. "

Viv Govender from Rand Swiss Offshore chose cash as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with cash, I think markets are pretty high and we're heading into a point at which we're going get more and more information that's going to be pretty negative."

Nick Kunze from Sanlam Private Wealth chose Northam Platinum as his stock pick of the day.

I'm sticking with the commodity theme, going for Northam Platinum. I've been liking it for a while and that rhodium price has moved back above ten thousand dollars an ounce and they've got nine percent exposure to that in their mines. So, we're going to stick with Northam's for now and go with that weaker dollar theme.

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Inditex as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Inditex, they have a number of brands of which the most well known is Zara. They have a very good model in terms of their fashion procurement and design and their lead times are very short compared to some of the other retailers. They're also on the front foot in terms of the online business and trying to shift the bricks and mortar sales to online."

Graeme Franck from PSG Wealth Sandton Grayston chose Naspers as his stock pick of the day.

"It's going to be extremely boring tonight and I'm just going to go for Naspers, for the very simple reason that it's trading on a 40% plus discounts to the underlying Tencent. We have seen a wobble in tech shares last week and notwithstanding that Naspers' as a business is looking okay. The one thing that we remember is management is still under significant pressure to reduce that discount."
