Waldo du Plessis from Nitrogen Fund Managers chose Reinet as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick tonight is Reinet, it is a holding company and has two massive assets being British American Tobacco and then Pension Corp in the UK. Reinet a rand hedge and the rand has run quite hard, I think it may go even further depending on the massive global interest, maybe the dollar will weaken further but for the long run British American Tobacco is rather cheap, Pension Corp is fairly valued and Reinet is trading at a hefty discount as a rand hedge that looks attractive."

Viv Govender from Rand Swiss Offshore chose Cash as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm sticking with cash with the election in the US happening next week. According to a report by FiveThirtyEight there is a 5% chance of a vote recount which I think will be very negative for the markets."

Nick Kunze from Sanlam Private Wealth chose cash as his stock pick of the day.

"We've got the volatility in America the VIX (Volatility Index) is up almost 18% on the day to almost 40 % ​and we are less than a week to elections. We have Germany shutting down all the rest and I'll leave you with a saying that "Sometimes there's a time to be long, a time to be short and a time to do nothing" so, that is my stock call I'm afraid. I'm electing to sit on cash until this this noise and all this wild volatility subside."

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Netflix as his stock pick of the day.

I'm going for Netflix, they reported their numbers in the US last week and it was slightly short of market expectations but if they had to report two days earlier it would have met market expectations. The overriding trend there is that they have the first movie advantage in terms of the streaming services and they have a massive database in terms of content availability. The big growth area is outside of the US which is providing them with a growth engine to leverage their database of programming in their stable .

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose Exxaro as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick this evening is Exxaro and it's for viewers with a little bit more tolerance for potential short-term weakness and at the very least volatility. It's been a beneficiary of elevated iron-ore prices of late which has bolstered earnings."

Andile Buthelezi from Sentio Capital chose BHP as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going for BHP, one of the larger diversified miners out there. They mainly have exposure to iron-ore, copper, coal as well as petroleum. Their iron-ore business benefitted from higher iron-ore prices this year. Overall it's a well managed business and a good dividend payer."

Market commentator Nolwandle Mthombeni chose cash as her stock pick of the day.

"I am sitting on cash at the moment, because I think there will be some more opportunities especially with the stimulus payments coming through and the election should bring some volatility as well, and it'll be perfe​ct time to do some stock picking then."

Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose Fairvest Properties as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Fairvest in the property sector, if you look at t​he retail index it is down over 51% whereas is down only 5%. And more importantly their dividend yield is over 11%. "

Graeme Franck from PSG Wealth Sandton Grayston chose Roche as his stock pick of the day.

"Today I'm going to go for Roche. They are in the race for a vaccine but more importantly they are also the biggest cancer pharmaceutical company in the world and unfortunately more and more people are getting cancer and Roche has the largest oncology business in the world. They are trading on a PE of around 20 times so they're not cheap but it's a great long-term quality business."

David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose LVMH as his stock pick of the day and Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose Equites Property Fund.

Shapiro said: "I'm LVMH I mean revenge spending, whatever it is... China and Asia is coming back and they're certainly getting out of this lockdown a lot quicker than everybody else. The numbers they produce just show how resilient the luxury market is."

Masilela said: "I'll go with equities property fund, they're more into logistics and more into warehouses. They are at strategic nodes next to airports and harbours and even if you check their collection rate you'll see in SA they are at almost 99% and in the UK they collected almost 100% so I think I will put my money in Equites Property Fund."
