Rob Towell from Sasfin Securities chose Medtronic as his stock pick of the day.

"We're looking at Medtronic, they do hip replacements, knee joints, pace makers and they are also moving into robotic surgery which helps surgeons to take a look at the procedures straight after the operation to see what happened during the surgery. They can then get data from technology that is actually put into the body so it's high end tech and med-tech. We like the sector as a whole and Medtronic has been slightly weak over the Covid period because surgery hasn't been available but we think it's a good entry point into the stock and a very good growth sector for the next 10 years."

Waldo du Plessis from Nitrogen Fund Managers chose Reinet as his stock pick of the day.

I've gone with Reinet which is a traditional holding company. They've have a big investment in British American Tobacco and then a UK insurer called Pension Corporation. The reason I'm going for Reinet is because it's trading at a really wide discount against historical levels at 42%.

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose Adcock Ingram as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock is Adcock Ingram, well known for Panado, it currently has about 65% of its revenue from prescriptions and over-the-counter meds and around 25% from hospital drug usage. It's significantly de-rated this year and went down around 29% over the past 12 months, taking it from a 33 PE to a very undemanding 9. Bidvest is currently a 51% owner and I suspect that these levels Bidvest may want to increase their stake. The extent of the price pool is definitely overdone in my opinion and assuming conservative forward earnings, our target price is R68 which is a 27% improvement from current levels. "

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose cash as her stock pick of the day.

I'm long the US dollar, the US election is going to be in the first week of November and it might even be a disputed election, if there is volatility around the election or after the election, the important thing is don't panic. Good companies are going to survive irrespective of politics."

Martin Smith from Anchor Capital chose cash as his stock pick of the day and David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose to back global markets recovery.

Smith said: "I'm happy to be sitting on a bit of cash. I think volatility is going to continue to be high over the next few weeks given kind of backdrop of US elections, stimulus talks as well as potential shutdowns across Europe with a second wave of Covid."

Shapiro said: "I'm still going the blue way (backing global market recovery). I still think that we we get we've got some more upside there and I think should the election go our way, you're going to make money."​

Viv Govender from Rand Swiss Offshore chose cash as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm keeping with cash, I've been with cash for about a month now and will continue to do so until the elections and the resolution to that so that we can know what the future administration is going to be. So cash it is"

Nesi Chetty from Stanlib chose Fairvest Property as his stock pick of the day

Kwame Antwi from KOA Capital chose AVI as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm fairly conservative and one of the companies that I've spoken about before, that seems to be doing very well is AVI. It is a well-managed business, even during the difficult times they've shown the ability to execute and to deliver sustainable growth"

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Netflix as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going for Netflix, it's a company that was largely born out of the US. Their growth now is in the rest of the world, whereby they have more users outside of the US than in the US and as they gather scale they have this content platform that they are re-investing a massive amounts of their free cash flow into. The second pillar of their growth is for them to increase prices to bring them on par with the US and closing that gap between the US and the rest of the world in terms of pricing, will provide them with quite a strong revenue or top-line growth and that bodes well for margins going forward"

Sasfin Securities' Robert Towell chose Amazon as his stock pick of the day.

"We still like us-tech and I think that you can still buy Amazon and Alibaba, so those are the two stocks that we'll look at."
