"Electronic Arts Inc just released a new game called Apex Legends which is already taking the world by storm. What they did was pay a famous gamer called "Ninja" a million dollars to play this game for a day, and apparently this strategy really paid off as this game has some of the fastest growth (in players) in human history."

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Metair Investments Limited as her stock pick of the day.

"It just goes to show that if you have a good product like batteries and auto components and they have a niche market for things that cars are going to need periodically. It is relatively recession proof and they continue to do well. They also have a very good management team but what really surprised me is that they bought a Turkish business a few years ago and despite all the political problems in Turkey, Metair's results knocked my socks off as they continued to make a profit. You cannot ignore the expertise of the management team"

Nesan Nair from Sasfin Securities chose Sasol Limited (SOL) as his stock pick of the day

"A traditional business and people have been waiting for so long for this chemical project to come on stream, and they are finally getting it up and running this year and I think as they start bringing in more and more product into the pipeline investors will warm to it and I expect it to be another star performance"

Graeme Franck from PSG Wealth Sandton chose BHP Group PLC (BHP) and Anglo American plc (AGL) as his stock picks of the day

"We do still like the miners despite the fact that they had quite a difficult run this year. Their balance sheets are getting stronger and dividends are increasing and being paid to shareholders"

Sam Mokorosi from Vunani Capital chose Murray & Roberts Hldgs (MUR) as his stock pick of the day.

“We like Murray & Roberts because of the corporate actions and we do think that Aton is going ahead with the acquisition so there is some uptick there in the share."

“With this structured product that they offer, worst case scenario you will 15% if the stocks are negative over the next three years and if it is positive you will get 40%. That is what you need at the moment with the uncertainty, narrow down your options and take away the downside. 40% over 3 years is not that bad, and 15% over 3 years is better than losing your money.”

Robert Towell from Sasfin Securities chose JSE Banks as his stock pick of the day

“If you take a look at GDP in South Africa and that it can uptick especially after the elections the South African Banks still show relatively good value and look like a good bet that you can hold in your portfolio. There's no rush before the elections so wait for the right price.

Liston Meintjes from Nvest Securities is looking at resources like Iron-Ore as his stock pick of the day

"At the moment the ones that I am favouring are still the resources, I know that they've had a pull back on the recent past, but one way or another, whether the trade wars are over or not there is still world growth. That means that various items are in greater demand or at least as good demand as previously and I don't think that some of the companies, due to report are showing yet, the values that they've seen let alone the ones that are prevailing now. There will be a downturn in the future and we can discount that and honestly I would be heading in the direction of resources, and within that specifically Iron Ore because of the Vale problem”

Nick Kunze from Sanlam Private Wealth chose Rand hedges as his stock options for the day.

"Once again we are looking at the rand hedges, the rand has been all over the place but and Moody's are apparently knocking around South Africa this week so there might be a bit of negative feedback coming from there so we are a little skeptical about the rand so we tend to prefer rand hedges like AB Inbev or British American Tobacco"

Craig Phieffer from Absa Stockbrokers and Portfolio Management chose Bid Corporation Ltd (BID) as his stock pick of the day.

"I think just after the budget, again, seeing the budget deficit growing, looking at the current account deficit that they were forecasting to grow to 4% of GDP. The rand/hedge stocks are still where you need to be and Bid Corp is the one that I still like. A globally diversified food company but a good rand/hedge"
