Nesi Chetty from Momentum chose EPP N.V, a predominantly Polish detail operations company that have very strong assets and is on a forward yield of around 10% with low single digit growth in distributions. It is a company with very little vacancies which is a small part of the business but they are still getting very good top line growth so like for like with an net income of around 2 to 3%. The company (through the cycle) will be able to sell assets at decent premiums to NAV.

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Anglo American Plat LTD as his stock pick of the day. The diversified commodity companies are on this drive to focus on shareholder returns and in Anglo American's case specifically they are trading on a free cash flow yield of 11% and they have a few growth projects in the pipeline like copper which is in a growing market and still benefiting from the consumption led driven economy in China which will give them good growth going forward.

The banks have had a good run since December but they are still showing some value. If pick them up at the right time during the volatility on a day where the market gets sold off a bit, you can look to pick up some FirstRands, Nedbank and Standard Bank Stocks. They were all trading on a ten or eleven PE at the end of last year and Absa went all the way down to about an eight PE but there was still some good value there.

Rowan Williams from Nitrogen Fund Managers chose The Foschini Group as his stock pick of the day. Much better numbers compared to the peer group. A much more diversified group with significant operations in the UK and more recently in Australia and given the tough environment in the UK their number remained pretty good. The Australian numbers also remained good with double digit sales growth and also Foschini's Africa we saw a 9% sales growth which is significantly better than their peers especially in their online sales and their black Friday sales. The impact of this remains to be seen in the margins but overall much better numbers coming out of Foschini
