Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose cash as his stock pick of the day.

"Given what is happening with high stock prices and with the Delta variant I think I'm going to go with cash"

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Home Depot as her stock pick of the day.

"I'm going to go with the US stock, it is the name of Home Depot, it is the US and is the largest home improvement store. It has a massive footprint and it did really well in the pandemic when people got stimulus checks and they stayed at home and and they and they fixed up their homes. It also benefits from the very strong housing market which we're seeing in the US at the moment."

Nesi Chetty from Stanlib chose Nepi Rockcastle as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock is Nepi Rockcastle, I guess in an environment where we are looking for the rand to potentially weaken, Nepi Rockcastle has dominant retail sectors in central and eastern Europe. We like their assets."

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Generac as her stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick is Generac and this is the company South Africans probably haven't heard of but it's a company that they will really understand. This company produces generators, solar power and all of the things that we would like to see here because of Eskom it's surprising to know that the American electricity grid is probably almost as bad as ours. It is very old it is subject to adverse weather conditions so people working from home with people getting older, people's need for constant electricity as we know is increasing and Generac has got the the bulk of the market in America"

Sanlam Private Wealth's Nick Kunze chose Anglogold as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick for this evening, I did pick it last week - so sorry to be boring, but AngloGold Ashante once again. The same as we said last time, single digit PEs, gold all of a sudden is getting a little bit of interest back up towards that double o level again and it is something to park your cash in, in this tug of war in uncertain times. I think that's good value."

David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose Kumba Iron-ore as his stock pick of the day and Gary Booysen from Rand Swiss chose Roku Inc.

Shapiro said: "I'm going to go for Kumba, I look at the iron-ore prices daily I see it's at round about 220 and everybody tells me it's going back to 65 and I've been waiting for about four years for it to go back to 65. I think maybe analysts are being a bit to bearish, even if iron-ore does come down I don't see it going back to the 65 level."​

Booysen said: "The stock I'm going for is Roku, they run operating systems for TV and are the number one operator on US TVs. They've just moved into Canada and are moving into Mexico as well. They're number one in the Canadian market and it's a very interesting business and it's up over 1500% over the last five years.

Kwame Antwi from KOA Capital chose A2 Milk as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick is actually an offshore business called A2 Milk and it's an Australian listed business. It makes milk that doesn't have what we call the A1 protein and they they say that the A2 protein a​s research suggests has a better impact and better results on people versus some of the other problems that people have when they take normal milk. They derive the broader part of their revenue from this sector."

Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose Telkom as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick is Telkom, for the fact that we've seen that their mobile customers they have increased by almost 27%. We have seen that over the last five years Telkom has evolved from its legacy business to a next generation business."

Nick Kunze from Sanlam Private Wealth chose Glencore as his stock pick of the day.

"Amidst it all i'm braving into into Glencore I've picked it once or twice before for a number of reasons. There is still a supply deficit of copper, copper's come off a little bit the last few weeks."

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose Nedbank as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick this evening is going to be Nedbank, they had a pretty descent set of numbers themselves. There is obviously going to be more Nedbank shares free floating following Old Mutual's unbundling. I think banks in general made over provision for Covid and that is starting to come through in the share price gains that we've seen."
