Marley's Ghosts

We are back out to sea! And revenege is a dish best  served on cold (iceburgs will do!)

This weeks episode is dedicated to one of my favorite podcasters who passed away unexpectedly last week. Dan from Real Life Ghost Stories Podcast. Listening to him and his wife Emma has been what inspired me and so many others to get into podcasting. I never had the chance to meet him in person but his sweet, funny charm brightened my day each episode. It is a huge loss to the podcast community. Go give their podcast a listen and you'll hear why Dan and Emma inspire so much love.

Napoleon a dictator, a complex and a tasty dessert. Quite the hat-trick!

Napoleon and the Spectre was first published in 1833 and strongly embrasses the classic gothic genre.

Charlotte Bronte - It's nice to have another female author. Especially one as delightful and feisty as this one. She is also the author of one of my favorite books Jane Eyre.

This takes being afraid of the dark to a whole new level

He! first published in 1883

Our Author - Guy de Maupassant (or Henri Rene Albert Guy de Maupassant - he was crowned  the heir apparant to Edgar Allan Poe! His life is fascinating and tragic and his struggle with a creeping madness is apparent in his work! He wrote his own epitaph "I have coveted everything and taken pleasure in nothing".

Would you fear the family curse?

The Astrologer was first published in 1899 in a collection of stories called The Tales of Terror!

Our Author- Dick Donovan making his second appearance. this is the nom de plume for J.E. Preston Muddock and is actually the name of one the authors most popular characters. Think of it this way if Sir Author Conan Doyle started publishing stories and the author was listed as Sherlock Holmes.

Good Dog!!!

The Warning first published in Armada Ghosts 1978.

Joyce Marsh - She is a mystery! Lots of spooky stories credited to her but not a single trace of anyone actually being her.  Oh maybe she's a ghost, they say write what you know.

The Moonlit Road - first published in 1907 in Cosmopolitan Magazine - not exactly the regular what color lipstick makes a man love me kind of fair that we see now. I wish they'd go back to publishing ghost stories.

Ambrose Bierce - a civil war soldier turned author. His book The Devil's Dictionary was named as one of "The 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature" by the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration.
