Henry receives a special citation...4th class, for the 4077th having the highest efficiency rating of all medical units in Korea!  And then Hammond sends him to Tokyo to train and administrative duties.  So Major Burns takes over as commander and institutes a lot of unnecessary military regulations.  So, Hawkeye and Trapper sneak off to Tokyo and use Henry's ego against him to bring him back to the camp.

Henry is in a grumpy mood and among his gripes are Chopper Pilot Cowboy Hodges requesting a temporarily leave to go home because of spousal issues.  ie, an expected Dear John letter.  Henry quickly denies it.  And then "accidents" constantly happen to Henry and he worries for his life.  Will Henry go BOOM?  Does Trapper ever go on his date?  Does Cowboys mustache ever end?  Find out on this episode!

Hawkeye needs R&R and has to pull the insanity card to get a free 3 days.  However, it backfires as Captain Philip Sherman comes to give him a phsyciatrist evaluation and determines he needs to go to Tokyo for several weeks of mental observation.

Hawkeye and Trapper have to pull one over on the captain and get back at Margaret.

Lt Bricker comes to camp to film a documentary of a MASH unit in Korea.  But the doctors soon realize that this documentary isn't very honest and is filled with army propaganda.  So, Hawk and Trapper take it on themselves to film a more "realistic" version of what MASH life is all about.

Frank Burns is upset that everyone goes to Hawkeye in the Operating Room and to solve the problem, Colonel Blake announces Hawkeye as chief surgeon.  Burns and Houlihan are furious and make it aware to General Bradley Barker that they believe Hawkeye is not fit to be the chief surgeon.  And as Barker soon finds out, the whole camp may not be fit to serve in the army.
