It's been a year since Apple famously removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and called it "courage." The headphone jack, Apple reasoned, was obsolete and unnecessary. Wireless was the way to go, and the iPhone's Lightning port was better for audio anyway. Soon, the company implied, you'll forget that the 3.5mm jack had ever existed. Never mind the fact that the vast majority of headphones on the market came with a 3.5mm plug. Never mind the fact that people hated dongles.

Old habits die hard, and old passwords die harder. But if you ever needed extra motivation to forget that ancient password you've been reusing for years, you'll find it in Yahoo's recent admittance that a 2013 security breach affected all 3 billion user accounts on the site. Think about that number. That's 3 billion passwords. There weren't 3 billion people on the internet in 2013, but there were that many Yahoo accounts because some people had several Yahoo accounts at the time.

Half a million people have already plunked down $1,000 to reserve a Tesla Model 3 all-electric sedan. They’re so high in demand, in fact, that even Elon Musk’s mother says she’s nowhere near the front of the list to receive one. Maye Musk, who at 69 years old just became the latest CoverGirl, told The New York Times that she will patiently wait her turn for Tesla's more affordable, less luxurious offering. "I haven’t gotten the [Model] 3 yet," she told the Times.

We always knew Elon Musk was an ambitious guy, but now he's taken it up a notch. At the International Astronautical Conference in Adelaide, Australia on Friday, Musk presented his goal to get to Mars by 2022 — before preparing for a human crew in 2024. "That's not a typo. But it is aspirational," Musk said, upon revealing his plans.

The day I bought my Chevy Bolt EV, I was excited to plug in my iPhone and use Apple CarPlay to run my favorite apps on the dashboard's huge infotainment screen. My enthusiasm quickly disappeared, though, when CarPlay forced me to use Apple Maps for navigation. Nooooooooo! It's gonna be really, really hard to get an iPhone X this holiday season. Several reports prior to the iPhone X's announcement already warned of extreme supply shortages, but things might be even worse than we all thought. Pre-orders for the all-screen iPhone X start on Oct. 27 and the phone launches on Nov. 3. If Apple's servers don't crash (and they will), you'll have your phone on launch day.

The iPhone X is the phone everyone wants, but there's no getting over one annoying fact: It's expensive AF, starting at $999. It's the most advanced iPhone Apple's ever created — and for once that's not just keynote hyperbole — but not everyone can afford to blow their savings on it. So, what's a person to do? Settle for the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus? Basically, yes.

There's a certain kind of person who will happily drop $999 (or $1,149 for the 256GB version, all before tax) on the Apple iPhone X when it launches Nov. 3. You probably know at least one of them; some of my best friends are among their number. It isn't enough to describe these consumers as mere early adopters.

Snapchat's latest Bitmoji update is about much more than dancing animations. Snapchat is updating its Bitmoji-enabled "World Lenses," the feature that lets you overlay your Bitmoji characters onto your surroundings, to make the animations look more realistic. Bitmoji, Snapchat users' emoji-like alter-egos, have appeared in Snapchat's "World Lenses" since the feature launched last year, but this is the first time to the company has made the feature available in 3D.
