In this episode, I read an article written by Robert Johnson PM and creator of the "Whence Came You Podcast" and the Managing Editor of the Midnight Freemasons blog. 

He makes his observations about some articles and statistics about the decline of Freemasonry. When I finish reading it I give some of my own opinions on this very important article

Once I'm done with that, I read an article by Brother Bill Hinbern on his website "Super Strength Training" on something I have not touched upon and that is the Boxer's Workout. Many boxers have used weights, including Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Boxers are some of the greatest conditioned athletes on the planet.

Matt Parker opens by telling us a little about Masonic Con in his state and how a newly made Master Mason Cole Kubicki has jumped into the breach to help them organize this great event. This one will be the very first one of its kind in the Southeast. WOW!!!

Once we talk about Masonic Con and all that’s going on I ask Matt Parker about the topics that he focuses on as Mason and the education he wants to impart to us all.

No matter how you look at it, there’s something about Freemasonry that tells you to keep looking deeper into our past, history, symbols, and our mysterious origins.

Brother Matt Parker shares some of his ideas as to what the early origins and meanings of Freemasonry were and are.

He shares powerful insights into Freemasonry and makes a very important observation by saying, “We have thousands of masons who are never initiated” I would have to second the motion from Brother Parker.

Brother Cole Kubicki, a newly raised Master Mason jumps into the conversation and shares his experience so far with Freemasonry and what he expects from here on out.

The newer generation is coming in wanting deeper connections to our past and a wealth of information and we must meet that challenge head-on some of these Masonic Conventions are a reaction to this inner calling not just from them but from many of us long-time Masons.

The fraternity needs to turn within and face our own fears and embrace what's already there for us to unpackage.

I read an article from the Philalethes Masonic Journal from Brother Jack Nichols Mogas, Past Master, presented to A. Douglas Smith Junior Lodge of Research, 1949, August 30th. 

This article was presented again in 2003.

The article describes how a Benedictine Monk spearheaded a program to bring over from Rome the best stone masons and architects to Britain in order to help build monasteries, residences and roads, lots of roads. 

622 AD - Benedict Biscop, a monk from the Benedictine Order was crucial in bringing these Stone Masons over to help with this program.

Does this article help us make a connection between the possible origins of Masons? It's possible.

July 22 thru the 24th will be Masoniccon at South Pasadena Lodge No.290. I have been chosen to be on one of the panels on Sunday. There will be all sorts of Masonic authors, writers, scholars, and film producers from all over the country to present their research, findings, and thoughts on Freemasonry. I hope to see you there and I know they have a gym in there so maybe we can get a workout and do some heavy lifting.

Many Masonic podcasts talked about patriotism and nationalism as part of their Fourth of July episode. But many of them did not mention some other very important aspects of that time. Ideas like sovereignty, self-reliance, and God-given rights. These were radical for the time and helped shape the founding fathers' resolve to want to break away from the king and form a new country. Also, did you know that one of the first methods of warfare that England waged against the colonies was economic warfare?

On June 21st from 6 - 11 pm, we observed and celebrated the Summer Solstice, Holy Saints John the Baptist Day, and its many possible connections to Freemasonry. We had a gathering that was high energy, intense, and engaging. The original plan was to all sit together and have our discussion but we encountered some challenges that we needed to address. We broke up into three groups of 5 each and had an awesome time!

We got to the La Quinta Brewing Co. in Palm Springs at 6:10 pm and get kicked out at 9 pm in what seemed like only 15 minutes. That's how focused we were. 

What did we learn? Were there any new insights into these topics? Why are people so intrigued with the possibility of astronomical secrets?
