Wow, another episode, heroic. Anyways, this is on the Erie Railroad War, features a lot of hilariously expensive gilded age financial flim-flams, scams, double-backs, cons, swindles, bunkos, hoaxes over control of a railroad that takes you to Niagara Falls. Ties in nicely with recent crypto scams, Elon Musk, and other SEO terms (supreme court). I forgot how to log into the website for awhile to upload this.
Hi, wow, a year. anyways, surprise! I still do these. This one is on the 1946 Battle of Athens Tennessee and how some people stood up to corrupt law enforcement and could be a good thing to think about. Anyways, whatever.
Hey, I did an episode on the Last Duel, it's an hour and a half of me trying and failing to pronounce French names. Enjoy if you like.
Hi, after a few months I finally got another episode out. This one is on the Bonus Army from the 1930's. It runs 2 hours long, that's my bad, I had a lot to say. Anyways, the main books I read for this are:
- The Bonus Army by Paul Dickson/Thomas B. Allen
- Marching on Washington by Barber
There's more but its mostly NYT articles, pdf's, memoirs from MacArthur, Eisenhower, etc.
Thanks for listening if you did
Hey, I used my history degree on Cassius Clay, the abolitionist, not the boxer. He fought against racists, slaveholders, and stabbed people with a big knife and also was kind of dumb. listen if you like or dont. the books I used are:
Lion of White Hall by David Smiley
Cassius Clay: Firebrand of Freedom by H. Edward Richardson.
The intro was done by Greg Rowland. kudos to him!
Anyways, here it is.
Hi, here is an episode on the Bay of Pigs. listen to it if you wish, if not that is fine.

Bay of Pigs by Peter Wyden
the Bay of Pigs by Johnson, Artime, San Roman, Olivia
The Cuban Revolution by Perez-Stable
Inspector General's Survey of the Cuban Operation (CIA)
Guerrilla Prince by Geyer
Reflections of a Cold Warrior by Bissell
History of the Cuban Revolution by Chomsky
Hey there,
If you would like to support the protestors, might I suggest giving a donation here. It'll split it equally between all the charities and funds that are helping the protestors across the country.
also, there are a ton of sources for this one, so if you want the notes for all of those, let me know and I'll get them for you. but for now, to get your feet wet check out "The Rise of the Warrior Cop" by Radley Balko, and "Do Not Resist" a documentary. they're both good.
Anyways, this one is about police militarization in the United States and how it relates to what we are experiencing now with police brutality and #BLM. Check it out if you want, or dont .
