Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing the CW’s Gotham Knights Season 1 that is currently on Max formerly known as HBO Max. I am sure there are those that still want to call Max HBO Max, I get it, I sometimes will do that, but remember it is now called Max. The series will begin with Bruce Wayne being murdered and being shown that he was Bat Man. His adopted son Turner Hayes finds out after Bruce Wayne was murdered that he was Bat Man. Bat Man did not tell Turner Hayes his adopted son because he wanted to give him as normal a life as he can. Turner Hayes along with three criminals are framed for the murder of Bat Man. This series will have a Fugitive feel as well as talk about how easy it is for the rich to infiltrate every faction of society that they can. The main villain will be the Court of Owls who are the rich and powerful who want to keep things as they are as they know that those that stay poor, it is easier to control them, and crime is big business. The series will talk about substance abuse and those who are supposed to love their family members will enable those family members to stay addicted to what they are as those individuals will claim they are helping their family members feel better. That is a lie, but it is a lie that is told more often than those of us would like to see. It will also show how the rich use those like the Mob to help keep the poor in line so they can remain poor. I will give you my rating at the end of this review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

Rest of review and rating of DC Gotham Knights

As was mentioned before, Bruce Wayne is murdered by the Court of Owls and was wearing his Bat Man mask at the time of his murder. Turner Hayes along with Duela, Harper Row and her brother Cullen Row get framed for the murder of Bruce Wayne who everyone in Gotham City finds out he was Bat Man. Bruce Wayne had his adopted son Turner Hayes learn Martial Arts, Fencing, and to be able to use line of sight so he can figure out where things are when he needs to. Turner Hayes is great at using a sword, but he is not a bad fighter. Duela because of her connection to the Joker, was going to sell the watch of the Court of Owls to someone but finds out it is a double-cross. Turner Hayes along with Harper Row, and her brother must rescue her. This is when they were stealing Bruce Wayne’s journal out of Wayne Tower, and Bruce Wayne was getting close to finding out who the Court of Owls were, and this is why he was murdered as well as what he was planning to do with his will. They also get help from Carrie Kelly who is 15 years old in this story and is a female Robin who happens to be of African American descent. Carrie Kelly rescued them when crooked police officers (cops) were going to kill Turner Hayes, Duela, Harper Row, and her brother Cullen Row and kept them from being killed. The Court of Owls were looking for Patsies as Eddie Valiant would have said in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? This is exactly what they are as they are scapegoats. They are meant to make their time for them. The evidence is pointing to them. A book I read recently called Running Girls can dispute that. In that story, Frank Randall was framed for killing his wife, Annie Randall. That sounds remarkably like The Fugitive, the movie that came out in 1993 that starred Harrison Ford. Frank Randall’s DNA showed up on his wife, and after a new person is killed in that book, he is assumed to be the new suspect. What ends up happening is that another family member who shares his DNA is killing these people. This is exactly what is happening here. Evidence can lie.

Harvey Dent, who is the DA, is searching for the truth in this story. He wants to find the truth, and he is Bruce Wayne’s best friend. He just does not want to follow the evidence, he knows it is lying, and everything is not what it appears to be. Harvey Dent is struggling with who he is. The series will show him losing time and not remembering what happened. It is as he struggles with memory loss that is hard to explain. What will happen is that he struggles with a personality disorder. He is suffering from the same as Marc Specter who is Moon Knight which is a series which I reviewed before. Marc Specter suffers from dissociative identity disorder and this series calls it identity dysmorphia. It is an actual disorder that means that Marc Specter has multiple personalities. This is what is happening to Harvey Dent in this series. Marc Specter has up to three different personalities that are shown in the Moon Knight comics, and he is also Stephen Grant and Jake Lockley. Stephen is the more reasonable of personalities, but Jake Lockley is the more psychotic one. The personality does not have a name. That side of Harvey Dent is more violent, and it came out when he was a child. The series will show Harvey Dent becoming this other person once a particular note is played on a piano. This is what triggered Marc Specter becoming Stephen Grant because of his mother abusing him after she blamed him for leading his brother in a cave and his brother drowned and Marc Specter was lucky to survive, and this also caused the other personality of Jake Lockley to come out as well. Harvey Dent was getting abused by his father and this caused his other personality to come out. Harvey Dent tells the psychologist that he saw that his father would be kind, then all the sudden he would become someone else. She told him, if you had this problem, it would have happened when you were a child. It did and like Marc Specter the other personality was not aware of the others until Harvey Dent saw the video of that personality telling him that it is possible. That personality told him to take 17 pills, so that he could learn the truth about himself. That personality told him he did things that he thought he could never do. This includes murder.

The series will show people getting exhorted for the profits they made just so they would not have their businesses trashed or destroyed. There is an episode in the 1990’s Spider-Man cartoon show that was called Chapter V of the Sins of the Fathers which was considered season 3 of the 1990’s Spider-Man cartoon show. In that episode, criminals were trashing a store and threatened the store owner if she did not pay, that they would bring her store to the ground. This was a good example of what exhortation is. This is what these criminals do to get the owner of the Bar to pay. This is not the State Bar, this is a Bar that serves alcohol, or some could serve food. They are short and these criminals decide to torch the place. This means they will burn the place down for failing to not have enough money to pay their bills. The Gotham Knights learn about exhortation, and this leads them to the mob that was helping the Court of Owls funnel the cash they need. They will find a book that has a cipher, and you need to know what book they used. Stephanie Brown, who is Turner Hayes’ best friend has been helping Turner Hayes along with Duela, Harper Row, and Cullen Row to clear their names. Stephanie Brown will go to her father that runs the Quiz Bowl. He tells her, you will figure it out my little Sherlock. This told her that she needed to look for a classic book. The cipher is from that book. It will allow them to find out where the money is going to. The book will not be what one thinks it will be. It will be completely different than one thinks it will be.

Stephanie Brown is the daughter of Arthur Brown and Crystal Brown. Stephanie’s mother Crystal is the one that has substance abuse problems. She cannot stop drinking, and she wants to take as many pills as she can as she claims that she is in too much pain. This is remarkably like Dope Sick that reviewed, that series showed how bad addiction is and how one can become a different person once one becomes addicted to a particular substance. Her father Arthur Brown claims that we need to help Crystal to get over her pain by giving her pills. That is a lie. All he is doing is helping to feed her addiction, and she needs to quit cold turkey. Stephanie flushed the pills down the toilet, and no one thought they had been in health class, this is what must happen to get that individual out of this addiction he or she suffers from. Arthur Brown is an enabler and will keep doing this even if it is illegal to do so. This is not right, and Stephanie Brown is the only one here in the Brown family willing to do what is right here, and to help her friend Turner Hayes.

The series will show that the rich and powerful like the Court of Owls do not care who they hurt if they can keep their wealth and power. The individual who oversees the court is not one who thinks it is. It is believed to be one person, but it is not. It will surprise the viewer who is running the Court of Owls. This person wants to do this and does not care who he or she hurts. Who is the leader of the Court of Owls? Please leave your answer in the comment section below. The Court of Owls is after a rock that can allow a person to live forever. The rock will have radioactive properties, and it will show how bad radiation poisoning can be as one of the Gotham Knights will have to help so that the individual does not die.

As not to revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this season and set up another season in the Gotham Knights series.

I will give you, my rating. I give Gotham Knights Season 1, a 10 out of 10. It was overly complex, and it talked about a lot of serious issues that needed to be discussed. It dealt with exhortation, corruption, addiction, and multiple personalities. It had a lot of meat to this series, and it helps the viewer to understand these characters better and these issues. There are rich people in the United States looking for absolute control over everything. They believe that the poor do not deserve to have any opportunity to get out of poverty. There are those like Bruce Wayne that want to help people and that is why he became Bat Man in the first place. The Gotham Knights are fighting the battle he started and hope they can live up to the legacy that he left behind. If there are those willing to fight the corrupt, they may be dead physically, but their spirit will remain. This is the best way that people can do to honor as that came before them. The important thing is for those who care about what is happening in the United States is stand up and fight. It does not man, you must pick up a weapon and fight, it may mean protesting, organizing events, or voting. Exercising everything you can within a democracy is always the best thing anyone can do. There are people that would like the United States not to be a democracy and one must be aware even when there feels there is no hope, or you cannot beat them, that is what evil wants you to do. One must resist evil and fight it. This is how one beats evil by doing just that. It is too bad this series was cancelled because the series hit on issues that need to be talked about like how rich people use their money to get what they want, substance abuse, and how even dispute that there are those out there that want to do the right thing.

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing Loki Season 1 that is currently on Disney+ done by Marvel Studios. I will go over several topics in this episode. This 1st season of Loki started where Tony Stark’s Iron Man and Scott Lang’s Ant-Man were trying to get the Tesseract so they could reverse the blip that was caused by Thanos’ snap. In the scramble once the Tesseract was thrown down on the ground, thanks to the Hulk tearing through the wall after he was told to go down the stairs. It allows Loki to escape, and he ends up in Gobi Desert in Mongolia. This will allow the TVA, which stands for Time Variance Authority to come and arrest him for messing up with the sacred timeline according to the TVA. I am sorry that I have not had a new review in a while as I have some issues to resolve. Rest of Review and Rating of Loki Season 1

Before I go on with the review, I have been getting questions of why I have decided to do only season reviews instead of episode reviews of each season. When I first started this YouTube channel, I did that, but I found out when I was trying to get people to the blog, I was not going to get the traffic I wanted there unless I can make my blogs be 2,000 words because that helps with SEO. The blog must trick Google so that it will produce the traffic one wants for his or her blog. That is the trick one must play with, if that individual wants to see his or her blog to be successful. When I do episode per episode reviews, I can never get them to be that long without giving too much away. I know that I will not do that in season reviews because I can pull from each of the episodes that I think are important and only cover those topics.

As was mentioned before, Loki Season 1 starts off in the 1st episode with that scene they pulled from the 1st Avengers film and used it in Avengers: End Game. Loki escaped thanks to the scramble for the Tesseract when Tony Stark’s Iron Man and Scott Lang’s Ant-Man attempt to steal the Tesseract to take back to use to reverse the blip from Thanos’ snap. Loki gets arrested from the TVA which means Time Variance Authority. According to what the viewer learns this is meant to protect the sacred timeline.

According to Ms. Minutes, who is played by Tara Strong and yes, if you are asking, she does have a Southern accent. Ms. Minutes is a cartoon clock, and she is real according to what the viewer sees. She responds to Loki when he says this is absurd and that he should not be here. She tells the guilty that they are here because you strayed off your given path, and you must be punished for your crime. This is very similar to Who Framed Roger Rabbit when you had toons and live action mixed in 1 film that I reviewed for this channel. Another good example is Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers movie that I reviewed for this channel that has a mix of animation with live action. It was a good film, and I would recommend it.

Loki is about to get pruned until Mobius who is played by Owen Wilson asks his boss in the court room of TVA (Time Variance Authority). Yes, the court room has pews that you would be in a real courtroom. Mobius tells his boss that Loki can come in handy to help him find this variant they are looking for. Mobius tells Loki that he needs his help and that he wants to find this variant before this variant destroys the sacred timeline. Loki claims that he does not like to talk. As Mobius tells Loki that is not true, you like to talk. You like to hear yourself talk. That makes sense as Loki is a narcissist, and most narcissists like to talk. He tells Loki the variant they are looking for is another Loki. Loki is shocked as this would make sense that he would be.

In the 2nd episode of this season, Loki is being trained by the TVA (Time Variance Authority) to become a TVA agent. He is being forced to work for the Time Variance Authority. According to what is mentioned as Ms. Minutes tells Loki, you want to avoid a Nexus event. A Nexus event would involve the multiverse being twisted and you would end up with a hot mess. This is mentioned in the last Flash film that came out in June 2023. Both Bruce Wayne in 2 different universes tell Barry Allen that you can create a mess, and if you play God with the timeline of what you can destroy if you are not careful. This is shown in Spider-Man: No Way Home when Peter Parker wanted to reverse what happened when Mysterio revealed his identity to the world. Peter Paker has Doctor Strange do a spell to help everyone forget that he was Spider-Man, but instead that brings everyone that does. This creates a hot mess that was mentioned in this review.

Loki is trying to figure out what he must do to find this variant of himself. As was mentioned, this variant is another Loki. As Mobius is hoping to figure out from this Loki, what makes a Loki tick? Loki figures out from the destruction of Asgard that the variant is hiding in apocalyptic events. He knew that is how he would do it. He proves his point to Mobius, they go to Pompei, Italy in 79 A.D. when Mt. Vesuvius erupted and the whole city would have been destroyed. As Mobius finds out, it did not cause a Nexus event as Loki was pointing out. The variant could do whatever he or she wants without setting off a smoke screen.

This will lead Loki and Mobius to go to Alabama in 2050 when a bad hurricane happens in this Alabama town that will destroy this town. They take the TVA agents to this point, and they will find out who the villain is. One will believe this Loki to be male, but it is not. This Loki is a woman instead. That was the surprise instead and this makes for a good twist. Comic Books are known for doing this, in the Runaways comic book series, there is a mole amongst them, but the reader does not know who the mole is until the reader gets to the third volume of that series.

The 3rd episode of the 1st season will have both Loki and Sylvie going to the TVA (Time Variance Authority) and they will be met by TVA agents, and they both end up going to this planet called Lamentis that ends up being destroyed. Loki and Sylvie ended up on this planet in 2079 that is going to be destroyed. They go on the train in hopes to get off the planet. The attendant finds out that they do not have tickets and get thrown off the train. This will cause things to go sideways to say the least. Both Loki and Sylvie end up stuck on the planet.

The 4th episode of the 1st season will have both Loki and Sylvie stuck on the planet, and Sylvie believes she will be destroyed on this planet. The TVA (Time Variance Authority) finds them, and they get pulled out by the TVA and get rescued because it was causing a Nexus event. They both like each other. Mobius finds out while talking to Loki that Loki was falling for himself. Loki gets thrown in this prison that recreates this event with Lady Siff slapping him and telling him that he only cares about himself. Loki tells Lady Siff that he is afraid of being left alone. Lady Siff tells him, you are alone. Mobius gets the video and finds out from C-20 that she found out that she was a variant. Sylvie would have said in the last episode that they are all variants. She tells B-15 that she is a variant. B-15 takes Sylvie back to Alabama in 2050 and tells B-15 that you are not who you think you are. You had a life, and she tells B-15 that she cannot create memories, she can only bring memories that are already there. B-15 finds out that she had a life before the TVA. She was not created by the timekeepers as she thought. Mobius and B-15 both realize that it was a lie and what they thought they knew; they do not anymore. This will cause Mobius to be pruned once he finds out the truth. Loki and Sylvie meet the timekeepers and find out that they are robots, not real beings. Who is the actual creator of the TVA (Time Variance Authority)? That is the big question.

The 5th episode of the 1st season will have Loki in this world that is different than one would expect. One would expect Loki to be dead, but he is not. He is having to fight off this creature which is called Lalith which is a play on Goliath since it is big smoke and Goliath was a big human being that was 9 feet tall that eats souls instead of killing people gruesomely on the battlefield. As the other versions of Loki tell him, they must stick together. There is an alligator that is a Loki. This proves Loki does not have to be a human. Sylvie comes there and tells Loki that she plans to enchant the creature that protects the barrier that is set for them to cross. They must defeat this creature to get to the one who is responsible for creating the TVA (Time Variance Authority). There will be a Loki that says Loki running for President. It makes sense, Loki would do that as he always wanted to rule. Loki and Sylvie must defeat the creature and Mobius will help them as well.

The 6th episode of the 1st season will involve Loki and Sylvie trying to defeat the person responsible for creating the TVA (Time Variance Authority). They both are looking for the individual. They must go through a fortress, and they must figure out where this person is. The person is a notable character in the comics. The clue from the episode is he who remains and the conqueror. If you know who it is, please leave your answer in the comment section below.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this season and set up more stories to be told in the MCU.

I will give you, my rating. I give Loki Season 1, a 10 out of 10. It was fun but does a good job of explaining what would happen if a person created a Nexus event. A Nexus event is one where it causes timelines to merge with each other and this causes a multitude of problems. It can cause the multiverse to collapse on itself. There are different universes, and they are parallel universes. A good example is the series called Parallels which I reviewed for this channel and is a Disney+ original series. Spider-Man: No Way Home explains this as well and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness explains what would happen if the multiverse collapsed on itself. These two movies, I have also reviewed for this channel. As the person who oversees the TVA tells Loki and Sylvie, if the TVA (Time Variance Authority) does not exist, you could have beings such as myself coming here to destroy it. It is important for the survival of it. The series called them variants and at the time this came out, the world was seeing COVID-19 going rampant still and the called the different strains of the virus variants, and it makes sense that this would relate when the first season this series was released. The fighting is well done, and one can see the martial arts elements that were used in the first season of this series. This was explained here, and it should be explained in the next season of Loki which I am excited to see.

In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing the Disney Channel Original Movie called Spin that is currently on Disney+. I have reviewed Disney Channel Original Movies before, and I have told you in those reviews that these are quality movies. It is a matter of just realizing, yes, they are made for kids in mind, but adults can find something in them if they look hard at these movies. I reviewed movies such as Ally Cats Strike, Shook, Dad Napped, Avalon High, Invisible Sister, and the Swap. As I told you in those reviews, these movies are well done, and they have a message for people to learn. Life is not easy is what I usually get in these movies, and we are all stronger than we think we are. Spin is about an Indian American girl who likes to make mix of playlists to help her family restaurant of Spirit of India to be able to get through the Sunday Dinner Rush. She will find out as the movie progresses, that she has a desire to be a DJ. This is what the movie will show as she learns it is okay to have several interests and not just one. I will give you my rating at the end of the review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

As was mentioned before, Reah is the name of the girl who is an Indian American girl. This means her family is of Indian descent from India. She will meet Max at the restaurant. Max tells her that he is a DJ, and he is impressed that she made the mix that is playing in the Spirit of India which is Reah’s father’s restaurant. Her father is the owner of the restaurant. Her grandmother is her maternal grandmother. Reah’s mother Mira died when she was 8, and it is just her, her father, grandmother, and her brother. Her brother is younger, if I had to guess, I would say he is 8 years old from looking at the kid. He is a good kid, and Reah is a good girl, and is very responsible for her age. She is 15 years old in this movie, and she wants to do everything to help her father as she cares about him. Her grandmother dances in front of Max and his mother with a full house at the restaurant of Spirit of India. Max tells Reah that this is legit awesome. I would have to agree with Max, it is, and why wouldn’t one like it? Life has enough stress. It is good to dance and to have fun. It is important to work hard, but it is important to break out and have fun.

As Asha will tell Reah’s father how I cannot dance, your daughter always picks glorious music. She tells Reah’s father, you might as well tell me to stop breathing if I cannot dance. I can understand that it will be like telling me to stop writing or creating videos like I have been doing. I know that it helps me. Reah’s father struggles with the loss of Mira. Asha tells him, Mira would not want you to just hide from the world with work and your children.

Reah will flash back till she was 6 years old, and her mother will help her sleep as she is hearing too many noises. Her mother tells her to focus on that and use it to help you, and it works. Her mother tells her that there is music all around us. We must just find it. It is all music according to Reah’s mother.

The following morning, Reah will see Max, and Molly and Waston will notice her smiling. Molly and Watson tell her, we have never seen you smile like that before. Watson tells her, come on, give us details. She tells them that she saw Max in her family restaurant of Spirit of India. Reah will tell them, can we talk about anything else besides this? Watson shows them the designs he has been making for the STEM club. As Molly and Reah tell Watson, these are amazing. Watson tells them, I know. Watson is confident and he is good at designing, and he enjoys doing it.

After that Reah bumps into Ginger with Molly and Watson, who is Reah’s best friend besides Molly and Watson. She tells them when she sees them, you are my favorites after she was taking selfies with people that follow her as they told Ginger they are big fans. Ginger is talented in that, but what makes her great is that she does not let that get to her head. She is popular but treats people with respect. She is hard working on what she does, and she tells Reah that she is cool after Molly and Watson told her that she has a crush on Max. Reah told Ginger that his name is Max, and she was able to find his social media page without his last name. Reah is impressed that Ginger was able to find Max’s page without his last name. Ginger tells Reah with Watson, and Molly that Max is from London, England. Molly and Watson are teasing Reah, telling her that she could be Princess Reah. As Reah tells them, Max is way too cool for me since he is a DJ. As Ginger tells Reah, do not sell yourself short; you make cool playlists all the time. Speaking of music, the music in this movie is awesome.

Ginger shows Reah, Molly, and Watson the design of the website on her phone. Watson tells her that this looks like a silent cry for help. Ginger says, “Yes, I need your help, Watson.” Watson consults Molly, and Molly tells Ginger, 2 pizzas. Ginger tells them, yes, I agree with your terms. Ginger tells them, “I will see you later.” The website is to help promote the festival of color which is a Hindu holiday called Holi, and people dress in white, and the spray themselves with a bunch of distinct colors that end up looking like a rainbow. That to me is cool to say the least.

Reah, Molly, and Watson are in the STEM class, and Ms. Lahey wants to see what they have been working on for the class projects. Molly wants Ms. Lahey to sign a confidentiality agreement. She does, and they continue. As Watson says, Eddison had the light bulb; Steve Jobs had the phone; we have the pizza drone. They try to deliver the pizza with the drone, and the drone shorts out and drops the pizza to the ground. The pizza box opens with the pizza coming out of it. Ms. Lahey tells them they are cleaning that up, and their project needs more work. Ms. Lahey asks Reah what her project is like. Reah tells Ms. Lahey that she has been developing a point-of-sale application for her father’s restaurant. As Ms. Lahey tells her, this project is supposed to be fun. Reah tells her that she is enjoying it after Molly made fun of her saying that all of us kids are into it these days. Reah points out that this app will help my dad out a lot.

Reah will show her dad the point-of-sale application that she has created for the restaurant of Spirit of India. Reah told him that this application will help you know what ingredients you need to get when you are running low on them. This makes sense; restaurants need to know what supplies they need to make sure they are getting food ready to cook and prepare to get out to their customers.

Ginger will be depressed when she sees Molly, Watson, and Reah. She told them that their DJ just got suspended for cheating on their history exam. She wants to hide under the table. Molly and Watson let her know that they can beep boxes. Ginger wants to forget this, but Reah tells them about Max. Ginger asks Reah, “Do you think he is good at spinning, or do you think he is cute”? Reah will tell Ginger, “He seems to know what he is talking about.” In my mind, this makes sense. What does Ginger have to lose at this point? The dance squad finds Max, and Ginger encourages Reah to come with her as she figures that she would like to tell Max herself that she helped him to get a sweet gig.

Reah with Ginger meets Max, and Max points out to them, that he wished that he had his equipment. Ginger points out to Max; it is like rock stars that go unplugged. The dance squad will promote the event, and it looks awesome with all the distinct colors that they use. It looks like it is fun when it is shown in this movie.

The movie will progress with Reah asking Max to help teach her to DJ. They will go to Victory Vinyl Records where Max shows her the ropes. They get two records, and Max tells them that they need to figure out how to put the 2 records together. It is a matter of using the mixer. Reah figures out there is a difference between the beats per minute. Reah can do that in her head. Max is impressed that she has a calculator in her brain. DJ Luka Cent is Record shopping and hears them performing and is impressed with their picks in music. He lets them know that he is. They come up front to pay, and he tells the cashier to hand them some fliers. The fliers say battle of the beat masters. He tells them it is a local competition for teen DJs that he does every year. He encourages them to come and sign up. Reah asks him what he is looking for. He tells them, tell a story and makes us care.

The movie will progress with Reah having to juggle work, school, and her learning how to be a DJ. She believes that she cannot be an artist, but she is wrong. She needs to find her music as her grandmother will tell her. She wants to hide in the restaurant after she gets her heart broken, but her grandmother tells her that she cannot do that. When something bad happens, you cannot just hide from it; you need to face it. Life is hard, but it is good, a person just must find it. Reah’s growth will come from exploring other passions like this, and it will help her to grow, and she will find out. It is good to have those things like this as she finds out that she is good at being a DJ.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of the story and shows it is okay to have other passions and to explore them. It helps a person to grow when a person does this.

I will give you, my rating. I give the Disney Channel Original Movie called Spin, a 10 out of 10. It is fun, but it is good to see a person who is a minority female to have a role like this. She is a decoder as she tells Max in this movie. That is why she is good with numbers. She likes music, and as her grandmother tells her, you are your father’s daughter, and your mother’s daughter. You are not one or the other, the best of both living in you. Your mother lives in you; you just must let it out. Her mother lives with her. Reah has her mother’s ear, and she loves music like her mother did when her mother was alive. Reah will understand that she was born to do this, and this is her destiny as she finds out. I do understand that if you do not pursue your dreams and passions, it will haunt you. This is what I am doing, but you must work hard and keep at it. Nothing will happen if you do not try it. Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing the movie called World’s Best that is currently on Disney+. I will go over several topics in this episode. The movie will begin with Prem Patel who is the son of Priya and Suresh Patel having a dream competing at the New Jersey Mathlympics. He is taking the pen in his hand, and he suddenly takes it apart ready to compete. One of the sportscasters is saying that “Prem Patel has been dominating since the first equation. The other one says, “I have never seen anything like this young man. He bleeds numbers.” The first one that said Prem Patel has been dominating since the first equation, says, “He is putting equations on the board that have parenthesis”. He will learn from his mother that his father loved to rap. This movie will deal with him learning that Hip Hop is in his DNA like Math is. I will give you my rating at the end of this review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

As was mentioned before, Prem Patel has a dream that is at the New Jersey State Mathlympics and that he has been dominating the tournament. He is walking to the table after he puts the equal sign on the board. The sportscaster says, “Hold the phone. A little bit of a changeup here.” Prem is walking to the table where his teacher is, and his best friend Jerome is. Prem Patel is having a high five moment with both his favorite Teacher of Mr. Oh and his best friend of Jerome. Prem Patel picks up Claire’s chocolate milk and jugs it down like it is water as one of the sportscasters would have pointed out. The first one who said he dominated this contest since the first equation, says, “What a showboat.” He walks back and puts the answer down, and the crowd goes wild. But this is where his dream changes, and Brooklyn who is a bully makes fun of Prem Patel and says, Math is for losers. Everyone leaves once he says that, and the room goes dark. Claire walks up to him and opens her mouth and starts ringing like an alarm clock. This is where Prem wakes up from his dream and the clock says 6:00 AM.

Prem Patel looks at his posters where they have some of the best Math minds and says, “The World’s Best never rests”. He gets up and goes to the bathroom to take his shower. Before he gets in there, his mother asks him, “Did you have another Math dream?” Prem tells her yes that he did. She asks him, “did you win?” He tells her that he did. She tells him, “Nice”.

His mother Priya Patel puts her ear buds in her ears and starts listening to a podcast on her phone and starts making his breakfast. She cooks his eggs and tells him your egg whites are on the table. Prem Patel is telling his mother, “Have you considered my proposal of having a Pop Tart for breakfast?” She tells him, “Have you considered living in reality? You need brain food today.” Priya Patel is struggling with the loss of her husband emotionally and she is hoping by listening to this Podcast that she can move on from the loss of her husband of Suresh Patel.

Prem later gets on the bus to go to Delta High School. Before he got on the bus, his mother was testing him on square roots. Prem can answer the square roots of most numbers without needing the calculator. Priya tells this girl who is making fun of her son that the last girl that ate Pop Tarts for breakfast had no teeth. “There is no tooth fairy for that”.

Prem is in the high school for the Math class that is a 11th grade class. He passed the entrance exam to get into the 11th grade Math class. Ms. Sage welcomes the students and tells them that the deal she makes with the class. The students who participate in the Mathlympics team and they finish in the top 3 of the New Jersey Mathlympics State Final will get an automatic A. They were destroyed the year before and finished dead last.

Ms. Sage gives them a math quiz for them to solve and asks them to finish the equation. Prem Patel is the only one that finishes the quiz. Claire is in the class and was working on it but did not finish it. They both get on the bus to go to Junior High, and Claire sits with Prem Patel, shakes hands with him, and congratulates him on finishing the quiz. They are both at Delta High School for the Math class and take the rest of their classes at the Junior high school.

At the Junior High School, Prem Patel is greeting his favorite teacher Mr. Oh. Prem Patel is later at the track and field that has football field with it. This is common as I remembered when I attended middle school that my middle school of Quail Hollow had track and field with a football field. Prem Patel is with his best friend Jerome who he helps to stretch his hamstrings for P.E. Jerome later tells Prem that he needs a break as he is with Amanda. Jerome does not want to be known only for doing well at school. He wants to be known for other things like dancing. Jerome will start hanging out with Brooklyn and Sharn even though there were both mean to Prem and Jerome when they were both in the sixth grade. Jerome wants to be a dance guy as he texted Prem a video that he did on TikTok.

It is not bad when a person wants to explore other skills that he or she may have. It gives a person a chance to find out if they have that talent or not. Even if it is not perfect, a person must practice it if he or she wants to be good at it. This is what Jerome is doing. People can have a falling out and this happens to Prem and Jerome. When I was in Elementary School, this happened to me, I had a falling out with one of my friends. We later worked it out.

Prem Patel later gets home, and he is feeling down which is understandable. If any person had the day that Prem had, it would be hard to say the least. He is only 12, and for a 12-year-old to have your best friend say that he needs a break from you is hard. He tells his mother that he is the only one who finished the quiz that was to solve the equation when he was in his math class.

Prem, while at the table asks his mother about his dad as he points out this is for his homework assignment. The homework assignment was for Prem Patel to figure out the equation of himself and what makes him who he is. He is supposed to include all the elements of his life that make him who he is. Priya, his mother claims that Suresh would want us to be happy and not dissolve like some caterpillar. Prem needs to know this, so he knows who he is.

Priya Patel tells her son Prem that I met your father at a hip hop club. The picture that is in their house is right near the table where they both eat. The picture is a picture of Priya and her husband Suresh taken at the Leopard Lounge. Priya tells her son Prem that your father was one of the best rappers that she ever saw. She finishes the story at that after she told Prem that she let his father buy her that drink.

This will cause Prem Patel to become curious about his father Suresh Patel. He will pull out the box that his mother Priya put in the closet. He will find tickets to concerts by Doug E. Fresh and other famous hip hop artists. Prem will open a bottle of Suresh Patel’s and it is strong to say the least. This will cause him to explore his father’s Rhyme book. He will get to the sentence that his father came up with and it says, “The World’s Best Never Rest”.

Prem Patel will see his father Suresh Patel appear and this will cause Prem to yell because he is shocked to see him. Prem’s mother will come in and ask him what happened. Prem will tell her that the solution snuck up on me. She tells Prem that she loves it when that happens. Prem will wonder what is happening to him. He will think that he is sick and claims his mother’s cooking poisoned him. As his father tells him, that woman cannot cook. Prem says that he is too old for an imaginary friend. His dad tells him that he is too young for a mid-life crisis, but here we are. The problem needs a new variable as his dad points out. Prem tells his dad, I cannot rap. Prem has a dream that he is rapping with his dad, and this will cause him to start exploring who he is.

Prem will explore this as he will sign up for the Fall Talent show. He will get help from his new friends Mercedes and Gabe. He will also help them to figure out how to remember Math equations. Mercedes and Gabe ask him what he is into? Prem will tell them he is into rap. They say no way. He gives them a tape that has a lot of first rap artists. The tape has Bismarck Keys, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and Naughty by Nature. Prem asks them do they listen a lot to the song that Naughty by Nature performed. They both tell Prem that these joints are the foundations to Hip Hop. These guys dreamed big and lived large and turned a turntable and a Mike into the number one music in the world.

Prem wants his mother to take him to the Leopard Lounge because he wants to check out Freestyle Tuesdays that his mother talked about with him. She shoots him down. She wants him to focus on Math. Prem later asks his father to help him with the Fall Talent Show. He wants to learn the basics of hip hop. His father tells him the basics are understanding how to put the sentences together. The basics involve putting the rhymes together like multiplication tables. You must hop from one sentence to the next. This is also poetry. Why is that? It is. Poetry uses rhymes and if you understand poetry, you will be able to rap. His father tells him you want to get to Fuel. Prem figures out he must solve for X and Y. Once he understands this, he can put the sentences together for him to rap.

Prem will have struggles down the road. He will question who he is in the process. His dad is talented, and Prem will learn from his father that life is messy and there is no right answer. His father Suresh will tell him that life is not an equation and that you do not need me to teach you who you are. That is something that Prem must figure out on his own.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of the movie and answer the question that everyone wants to know of “Who is Prem Patel?”

I will give you, my rating. I give World’s Best, a 10 out of 10. It was fun but does an excellent job of helping the audience to understand who Prem Patel is. Prem Patel will learn things about who he is and learn that it is okay to have more than one skill. Prem will go through the typical struggle that each person faces. It is tough at any age not to know who you are. It happens like it did for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2. As the doctor told Peter, there is nothing worse than uncertainty. It can paralyze you and that uncertainty and fear will keep you from living. As Prem’s father Suresh Patel tells him, fear keeps you from living. Hip Hop is like life, you cannot go halfway. You must go all the way. As Suresh tells his son Prem that you must have confidence if you want to be the best. You must be your own hype man. This will cause Prem to realize this. He makes the mistake of picking on Claire after getting his father’s book back from those that stole it from him. As his father tells him, “Phony rappers put others down to build themselves up. Real EMCs like us, we own we are that is what makes us untouchable”. This is an important lesson to learn for life. There is a difference between running your mouth and having something to say. If you just talk and you just want to hear yourself talk, who is going to take you seriously? But if you only talk when you have something to say, people will listen to you. It is important to keep it real. What happened to Prem? Does he reconcile with Jerome? Does he help his friends finish in the top 3 of the Mathlympics? Does Prem figure out who it is? Is Prem a math guy or a rapper or both? Please leave your answers in the comment section below. Thank you.

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing Black River, Rose Riley Book 1 by Matthew Spencer which comes in several formats such as Kindle, Audible, Paperback, Mass Market Paperback, and Audio CD. I will go over several topics in this episode. The book will start with the murder of Marguerite Dunlop who is connected to the school since her father works there. She goes there as well. This is a string of killings that is thought to be connected to the BMK, which is an acronym for Blue Moon Killer. If Blue Moon sounds familiar, Blue Moon is a beer that one sticks with an orange in when one drinks it. Unbelievably Blue Moon is made by Miller. How do I know this? I have known this since I was in Milwaukee, WI and visited the Miller’s Brewery and I was served it when I was at Miller Park for the Milwaukee Brewers. I will give you my rating at the end of this review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch and learn.

Rest of Review and Rating of Black River

As was mentioned before, this book deals with the BMK killer who has been on a killing spree. Rose Riley who is a Detective Sergeant in this story will be tasked in finding out who killed Marguerite Dunlop and finding out who the killer is. She has help from her boss Chief Inspector Steve O’Neill, Pryia Patel, Annie Tran, and Dr. Farquhar who is a psychologist who works for the police department. She also gets help from Adam Bowman who has a connection to the school since he went there when he was a child. Adam Bowman works as a journalist for the National that is a newspaper that has gone digital. This is what I can tell from reading and listening to the book. This story takes place in Sydney, Australia. The river is the key to these murders.

There are several people who make sense as suspects. First, the reader will think it to be Headmaster Preston. This makes sense as Preston is shady, and he gets on the defensive when Rose talks to him as well as her boss Chief Inspector Steve O’Neill. This makes sense when Pryia Patel and Adam Bowman interviewed Preston, and he got freaked out when the drone footage was released over the airways.

Preston is involved in a brothel meaning he has been involved in sexual relationships that were outside the confines of marriage. There is a sleazy politician he is involved with, and his names is Hugh Bishop. Hugh Bishop tries to interfere with the investigation as he and Preston are afraid that certain things will come out like their connection to the Mob and this brothel. It will ruin both of their careers as it should. Who wants a headmaster of a school that is involved in a brothel? Who is to say that Preston or Hugh Bishop could not be involved with girls under 18? This would be scary, and this happens in real life all the time. There are stories that you can read in the news or find if you look them up on google or any reliable search engine.

The other suspect is Craig Spratt. Craig makes sense as he manages the garden shed and has access to the tools one would expect to find. There are plenty of tools to find for him to kill Marguerite if he is the killer. The BMK killer likes to cover his or her victims with a plastic bag over their head after he or she kills them. Craig Spratt saw Preston leaving which makes him a credible witness as well as a suspect to the BMK killings.

The other suspect is Tom Green. Tom Green is the son of Sarah and Scott Green. Tom oversaw taking care of Marguerite Dunlop’s dog Tatters. Tatters will be later found dead in this story, and he was later buried in the ground. Tom will say to Rose Riley and to Chief Inspector Steve O’Neil that he was sorry that her dog Tatters died. Both Rose Riley and Chief Inspector Steve O’Neil asked Tom Green, do dogs dig their own graves? The answer is obvious, no dogs do not bury their own graves. In fact, no one can bury himself or herself if that individual is dead. I am implying that a human cannot bury himself or herself. Tom is an obvious suspect in the fact that when CSI went through the dumpster; they found Tom’s shoe with Marguerite Dunlop’s blood. It will be believed by the police that Tom Green was making this look like the BMK killer, but this will be proven to be wrong. There is a twisted person behind these killings and this person will not be as obvious one might think it will be.

The police were going to rule out the river, but Adam Bowman tells Rose Riley that you do not want to do that. The river could be the key to this according to Adam Bowman. Adam Bowman is smart and can smell out when things smell or feel out of place. This is what makes him a good reporter. He is willing to work with the police to make sure his facts are accurate and is willing to help them when he can. Adam Bowman will be proven right that the river is the key. This makes sense as this book is called Black River.

The other suspect one might think of is Sarah Green. Sarah Green knew Adam Bowman’s mother had an affair with Headmaster Preston. This means that she is implying to Rose Riley and the police that he could be BMK killer. This is too convenient. When a suspect is too convenient, in story or real life, this is not always the case. It cannot be just convenience that makes someone that actual perpetrator, it is motive, and opportunity. The reason Sarah implies this is that Adam Bowman’s brother died when he saw Preston and Adam Bowman’s mother in the bushes having sex and he fell to his death because of this. Adam is not aware that his mother had an extramarital affair with Preston. This does not give him motive to be the killer of Marguerit Dunlop to kill her and frame Preston with it. As Sarah Green claims, Preston gets away with everything and this would be frustrating to those that know that this guy is a horrible person. This gives Sarah Green motive since she knew Adam Bowman’s mother had an extramarital affair with Preston and feels responsible for not doing something about it. She could have done this, but this does not necessarily make her the killer of Marguerite Dunlop.

The other suspect one would look at as well is Scott Green, who is Tom Green’s father and Sarah Green’s husband. He makes sense as Tom Green is afraid of him. When Tom Green was being arrested by the police, Tom Green told the police he did not want to go with his father. The police will appoint another adult to be with him. It is understood that Scott must have been abusive to Tom and Sarah Green was wearing clothes that covered her neck. Usually when a person wears clothes that cover his or her neck; this means that individual is an abusive relationship. They are usually covering their injuries by that individual. Scott has tendencies one would expect to have. When a person is a psychopath, the people who they are supposed to love are afraid of them. Scott Green’s mother was a nun who was raped and probably hated Scott because he reminded her of her rapist. She got on her son Scott to wet the bed. This probably caused him to do more out of the guilt that he would be scolded by her.

Psychopaths like to play games as Rose Riley got a note from the killer saying, let’s play. This means he is targeting Rose. Priya Patel was later hurt by the killer, and this will make the reader think that this individual wants to play a game, and the participants in this game must figure out the clues before it is too late.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of the story and set up another book in this series.

I will give you, my rating. I give Black River, Rose Riley Book 1, a 10 out of 10. It was fun and helps the reader to understand the complexities of these killings and the other horrible people in this story that are involved in other horrible things. Not all these horrible people are killers, but they are involved with the mob and a brothel. What happens to these people in the end is justice and you will not feel sorry for them. Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing the movie called Blue Beetle that is done by Warner Brothers Studios and is a DC comic. It is part of the DCEU. I will go over several topics in this episode. The movie will start off with Victoria Kord looking for the Scarab, which is of alien origin. She has Carapax who is an enforcer and has Dr. Sanchez looking for it as well. They are digging it up amongst what looks like a glacier. It is buried amongst it. I will give you my rating at the end of the review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

As was mentioned before, Victoria Kord is looking for the alien scarab which is blue. The scarab works remarkably like the alien symbiote in Spider-Man. I understand that I am using a Marvel reference, but it is true, and I will make my point in this review. The scarab must bond with its host, and it chooses its host. The alien symbiote that created Venom and Carnage did the same thing. It chooses its host, and it usually looks for those that were insane. The alien symbiote usually made its host more insane and it controlled the host it was occupying.

Jamie Reyes comes back from school. He flew into the airport, and he met his family at the airport. His sister, whose name is Milagro Reyes, tells her brother Jamie Reyes that their father has lost his job and they will lose their house. This is not the news he wanted to hear. He was at the restaurant; his uncle Rudy Reyes is played by George Lopez. George Lopez works well at this role, and he is the guy who is a conspiracy theorist that believes that everyone has a camera in it as well as listening devices. The Reyes family is proud that Jamie Reyes is the first to graduate from college.

Jamie gets home and still cannot believe that his family is going to lose their house. They look at the skyline of the city and ask themselves what will happen. It is a good question. The Kords have been absorbing all parts of the city. This is remarkably like when a developer wants to gentrify parts of the city, saying it will improve the city, but instead all it does is pull hardworking people out of their homes that cannot afford them. It is unfortunate, but this happens more often than people would like to admit.

Jamie is sitting on the roof with his sister, and it asks her what we are going to do? She asks him, “are you going to grad school? Jamie tells her and gets this family in more debt. Going to college is not cheap, and if you must get a student loan, it is not easy to say the least. People that get student loans are not paying them off for a few years, but it may take them till retirement before they get those loans paid off. It is a vicious cycle, but this is what happens unfortunately.

Jamie and his sister Milagro Reyes got a job working at the Kord Estate. She is sticking gum under the bench and Jamie is peeling it off. Jamie is getting frustrated to say the least. She needs to use the restroom, and he asks her brother to cover her so that she can use the restroom. She decides to use the luxury restroom instead of the service restroom. Jamie points out that this could be bad. While she is in the bathroom, Jamie overhears Jenny Kord who is played by Bruno Marquezine who is an attractive woman to stay the least, and she is arguing with her aunt of Victoria Kord who is played by Susan Sarandon. There may be those that say Susan Sarandon has never played a villain before. You would be wrong in that she has; she played the Evil Queen in the Disney Film called Enchanted that you can now stream on Disney+. The Evil Queen was supposed to be the evil stepmother of Snow White, and they used poisonous apples in hopes to get the Amy Adams character whose name is Giselle sick who ironically has been in the DECU and played Lois Lane. She starred in two movies in that role in Bat Man V. Super Man and Man of Steel. Jenny Kord does not want to invent weapons. This is remarkably like the first movie in the MCU of Iron Man. In that movie, Tony Stark tells Obadiah Stain that he is done inventing weapons and wants to be doing other things. According to Obadiah Stain what they were doing kept the world going into chaos. Tony Stark said, not from where I was sitting; it is not doing that. This is Victoria Kord’s goal is to use the scarab as a weapon and give it to the military like Stark Industries was doing in the first Iron Man. Victoria Kord wants to create the OMAP. This thing would allow a person to have advanced weapons, and she is looking to make a large profit from it.

Jamie and his sister Milagro Reyes lost their jobs after he overheard their conversation and that he must find another job. Jamie is frustrated with his sister Milagro as he knows it is hard to find work. Jenny Kord tells them that she will be willing to help. She tells them this after she told them that I am Kord, but I am not a dick. She is telling them; we are not all stuck up like they were thinking. They are good rich people out there, even at times it can be hard to find.

This will lead Jamie Reyes to the Kord Industries building in the center of town. He is dressed in a nice suit. This is important if he wants to get a decent job. Any person that has done a job interview knows if you want to land a job; you must do this. A good impression goes a long way. While he is waiting for Jenny Kord to interview him, after the secretary told him to sit down; Jenny Kord is looking for the alien scarab. She finds it and is impressed that her Aunt Victoria Kord found the scarab. She steals it and takes it out of the lab. She puts it in a Big Belly Burger container. Big Belly has a lot of DC content. It would been in the Arrow verse that was done by the CW. You can find references in the Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow. Jenny Kord bumps into Jamie Reyes and gives him the scarab that is in the Big Belly Burger container and tells Jamie Reyes to guard this thing with your life. She tells him not to open the container.

Jamie Reyes will get home, and his family will beg him to open the container, even though Jenny Kord told him not to. They beg him and he gives them to them. Jamie tells them, you guys act like children. He opened the container, and they found the alien scarab in there. The alien scarab is blue and that is why this movie is called Blue Beetle as well as the comic. The alien scarab will jump onto Jamie Reyes as it chose him. It will do what the alien symbiote that creates Venom and Carnage in Spider-Man does. It must bond with its host. It does this by jumping on its host and must attach his spine. This is remarkably like Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2. When Doctor Octavius got electrocuted, the arms got fused to his spine and this would kill him, if it were removed.

This is what they will find out. Jenny Kord later bumps into him and tells him that he needs his help. This will be after he flew around. He went to space, and he cut a bus in half as the alien scarab will protect its host. It is a symbiotic relationship, and this is why it does this. He hears the voice of the alien scarab, and it is called Khaji-Da, and she is played by Becky G. Becky G was in the movie called AX-L who was a robot dog that was dating the guy who was protecting AX-L from the government. This is remarkably like what is happening here in this movie. Jenny Kord stole the alien scarab from her Aunt Victoria, and she must help Jamie Reyes figure out what happened with alien scarab attaching to him.

Jamie Reyes and Jenny Kord must steal a key which is a watch. After they get the key, they must escape from the Kord Industries building. The man who is called Carapax finds them, and he will kill them to get the alien scarab from them. This will cause Jamie Reyes to wear the suit, and this is remarkably like when Peter Parker could have the suit come on him on command. That reference can be found in the first season of 1990’s Spider-Man cartoon show that is on Disney+.

Every time Jamie Reyes puts the suit on, it burns his clothes. It will burn his shoes as well. This means he is going to have a lot of spare clothes lying around. This means it can get expensive as clothes are not cheap, and it is not like he can buy them that easily.

They are lucky to escape, and with the help of Uncle Rudy Reyes, they escape. Rudy Reyes created a device that can jam the security feed that allowed them to get into the Kord Industries building. They later get to Jenny Kord’s father’s house. It has a secret room, and Uncle Rudy Reyes recognizes who this is. Jenny Kord’s father was the original Blue Beetle. He is rich like Bat Man, but according to Uncle Rudy, Bat Man is a fascist.

This is where Uncle Rudy will be searching for the answers on Jenny Kord’s father’s computer that will help both Jamie Reyes and Jenny Kord understand what the scarab needs. Uncle Rudy tells them both that it will not come off with Jamie Reyes until he dies. There is no way to get it off since it bonded to him. As Uncle Rudy Reyes tells him, the scarab will protect you as this is in its nature to do so.

This will lead Jamie to have to protect his family. Something bad will happen to his father. His family must fight to save Jamie; and Jenny Kord will help them save Jamie. Uncle Rudy will come up big because of his Mechanical Engineering skills. This will also reveal to the audience and the family that Nana has skills; they both did not think that she had.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of the movie.

I will give you my rating, I give the movie called Blue Beetle, a 10 out of 10. It was fun but it shows the importance of family. This shows that a family does not have to be rich in having lots of money. This shows that this family knows that it is rich because they have lots of love instead of money. Love is the Reyes’ family currency instead of money. As Jenny Kord points out to Jamie Reyes, she wished that she had what they had. She will give up her wealth to have what the Reyes’ family has. Money does not buy you happiness, only love does that. This is the lesson that this movie teaches that it is great to see. What does one gain from gaining the world, but losing one’s soul? As Robert Queen told Oliver Queen in Season 3 of Arrow, what is a family without a soul? What this means is that Robert Queen was making money unscrupulously and that he should have been better than he was. He told Oliver Queen that you can be better than me, and you can save this city. Susan Sarandon did an excellent job of playing Victoria Kord as this woman is vicious and will do anything to get richer and does not care who she hurts. This proves again that Greed is the worst sin. This movie shows this, and I mention this in my other reviews of the Dopesick series where the Sacklers were willing to do whatever it took to get richer. They knew their drug OxyContin was hurting people, but they did not care. In one of my more recent reviews of the first season of Joe Pickett series; I said in that review that Vern Dunergan, Wacey, and the Scarlets did not care who they hurt if they got what they wanted. What happens in this movie? Does Jamie Reyes get out of the situation he is in? What happened to Jennifer Kord’s father? Please leave your answer in the comment section below.

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing Joe Pickett Season 1 that is currently on Parmount+. I will go over several topics in this episode. I will also make comparisons to the book and let you know if it is faithful to the original text of Joe Pickett. The first season is based on Open Season, which is the first book of the Joe Pickett book series. The original book came out in 2001. The original book had references to Jay Leno who is retired now from doing late night shows. Jay Leno took over for Johnny Carson who did the Tonight Show. The season will begin with Joe Pickett writing a ticket to Ote Keely and Ote taking his weapon. Ote Keely will be found dead in his yard with a cooler. I will give you my rating at the end of this review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

Rest of review and rating of Joe Pickett Season 1

As was mentioned earlier in this review, Ote Keely took Joe Pickett’s gun when he was writing a citation for killing an elk. Joe gets the weapon back, and he was so frustrated that he was tempted to shoot Ote Keely, but he does not. He writes him the ticket and Ote Keely must find a way to get his license back. As Joe Pickett tells Ote Keely, you must give the mother a chance to birth her offspring before you kill it. This only makes sense, if you need it for food, this is the best way to go about it. You need that offspring to be born so that the circle of life can continue. Yes, that reference can be found in the Lion King. If you are asking, is this accurate to the book. What happens with Ote taking Joe’s gun and Joe having to get it back is in the book.

The audience will meet Vern Dunnegan who was the Game Warden before Joe Pickett and at first the audience will believe Vern to be a good guy. Vern looks like he is on Joe Pickett’s side, and he wants to the only the best for Joe Pickett. Later, as the season progresses, Vern shows his true colors, and he is more interested in making money than doing what is right. This is accurate to the book as Vern was like this in the book.

The audience will meet Joe Pickett’s kids Sheridan and Lucy Pickett. They are good kids, and I personally would want them as my kids. They are the type of children that play well with each other. Sheridan asks Lucy to please not tell her parents or anyone else about the animals in the wood pile. Yes, if you are asking this is accurate to the book as Sheridan did ask Lucy to keep them a secret. Sheridan fears that if anyone else knows about her pets, they will die. She lost goldfish and dogs. I personally do not know if that is true because we all have pets that die. I had plenty of pets that died, and some of that had to with either of them getting old or someone intentionally killing them. It is unfortunate when that happens, but personally I would not trade the love I have gotten from them, and what it taught me as well. My cats have helped me to be a better person as I have learned to love them, and in return they love me in the best way they can. Albus, one of my two cats usually must check on me in the morning to make sure I am still here, and he likes to come in my room to spend time with me. Yes, I may have to get up a little earlier than I would like, but I would never trade that time for anything else. It is a good time because I realize he loves me, and I love him. Trudy usually greets me when I get home, no matter what it is and Albus will do this occasionally. This is why I believe when a person can show love to animals like Sheridan does, it helps to humanize you. It makes a person more capable of loving others. This is a good thing, and it makes a person stronger.

Before the animals were in the woodpile, Ote Keely was found dead near Joe Pickett’s wood pile that he keeps in his yard. Joe Pickett calls the police, and this will lead the viewer to meeting Sheriff Barnum and Deputy McLanahan. Yes, these two characters are in the first book of Open Season. Sheriff Barnum is not the best of Sheriffs as he is more interested in staying in office than solving crimes. Barnum was concerned about losing the election. They both make a joke that Ote Keely maybe bringing a beer. That is what could have been in that cooler. The cooler did not contain beer, it contained something else.

As not to forget the Keelys have a daughter and her name is April Keely and yes April Keely is in the book of Open Season. This makes it accurate to the book of Open Season. April Keely knows Sheridan Pickett as she and Sheridan go to the same school. April Keely’s mother Jeannie Keely is pregnant and if you are asking, yes this is accurate to the book of Open Season. April gets made fun of by girls in her school for wearing a coat that one of those girls claims to have given to a charity. This girl would have been considered as a mean girl. The other girls that were laughing at April would be considered as mean girls as well. April later when she gets home throws the coat in the trash. Her mother Jeannie Keely finds the coat and tells her daughter that she does not care if she does not want the coat anymore. It is understandable as the Keelys are living in a trailer park and do not have a lot of money. They are struggling to make ends meet. This is why Ote Keely needs his hunting license as this helps to provide for his family. Yes, Ote would not be considered a saint, but he is doing the best he can to help provide for his family. No one can fault him for that.

Jeannie Keely is struggling with her husband being dead because without her husband she does not have a way to provide for herself. She is desperate and does not have a lot of money and skills. Saddle String is not a place where there are a lot of jobs. It is in a rural area, unless you work on a farm, or you hunt, there are not a lot of opportunities.

Do not worry, I have not forgotten about Joe Pickett’s wife MaryBeth Pickett. MaryBeth Pickett is a beautiful woman and like in the book, she looks good even pregnant. Yes, she is pregnant in the book of Open Season. The book describes her being pregnant and being attractive even when she is pregnant. They will do an ultrasound when MaryBeth Pickett is at her doctor’s appointment. The doctor tells Joe Pickett that it is a boy.

The viewer will meet Nate Romanski. I do not remember him being in the first book, but I could have missed that part when I was listening to the audio version of this book. This is a change to the book, but it works. It is good to see how Joe Pickett meets Nate Romanski and as Nate Romanski will tell Joe and the audience, he was set up by the actual killer of Ote Keely. Nate Romanski uses a compound bow, and it will appear to the Sheriff Barnum and Deputy McLanahan that he is the killer. There is one thing that does not make sense, the arrow was tipped with poison and if they did a complete search, they would find that he does not have any type of poison like that in his living space.

Joe Pickett will go with Wacey and Deputy McLanahan up to the mountain to find the answers to the murder of Ote Keely. It will appear to the viewer that the answer is there, but it will not be so. They will lose their horses as Deputy Mcclanhan will shoot his gun off and it will cause the horses to be scared. This was a stupid move as they had to go up foot on that mountain and spend the night outdoors. Yes, this is accurate to the book.

MaryBeth Pickett will meet with Nate Romanski and tell him if you sent my husband up there to die, I promise you will regret hearing the name of Pickett. This proves to the viewer that MaryBeth Pickett is not a woman to messed with. She is a strong woman who does not any flak from anyone.

Joe Pickett with Wacey, and Deputy McLanahan get up the mountain and find Clive Lidgard who if you are asking is in the first book of Open Season. Yes, he gets shot, and Joe Pickett must shoot him before he shoots Wacey, Deputy McLanahan, or himself. When a person has a gun, that training tells you to use deadly force before you become a victim yourself. This makes sense.

Sheriff Barnum will fly up there with the helicopter and Joe Pickett, with Wacey, and Deputy McLanahan will be able to get out of that situation. Joe Pickett will be in the hospital as he was shot, and he needs to be tended to. MaryBeth Pickett will go to the hospital and find out that her husband is okay. Joe Pickett will be met by Vern Dunnegan by his bed and yes this happened in the book Open Season. MaryBeth is frustrated with Joe not because she does not love him but because she does love him. She was afraid of losing him.

The series will progress with Clive Lidgard’s trailer being exploded with Joe Pickett and MaryBeth Pickett. This is a change to the original book because Joe Pickett was alone in the trailer and lost his gun. This is a good change because personally I like MaryBeth Pickett being with him and helping him to find the truth. MaryBeth Pickett will tell Nate Romanski that she will step down as his attorney. He tells her, “I understand that you are scared, but I am fighting for my life here. Doing the right thing is not easy”.

The series will progress with MaryBeth Pickett representing Nate Romanski and trying to get the charges dismissed by the court. A person who claims to be with the U.S. Marshalls is trying to get Nate Romanski so that he can kill him. Nate must tie MaryBeth Pickett up and escape out the window to protect her and himself from this man.

The fake U.S. Marshall will try to kill the female deputy that was overseeing Nate Romanski while he was in jail. She fed him food that he could eat. He could not eat food that was hard. Nate Romanski will rescue her from this man and kill him. She knew that Nate had to be a government operative because he burned off his fingerprints. She lets Nate go knowing that he could not be the killer of Ote Keely since guilty men do not come back to rescue someone if that person is guilty.

Joe Pickett will meet Les Etbauer who is the head of Game Wardens and is wanting to suspend Joe Pickett for losing his gun to Ote Keely. He wonders how this could happen. As Joe explained to Les Etbauer that he was writing a citation to Ote Keely and explained to him that it is easier than you think. To prove Joe’s point, he took his name tag from Les Etbauer that it is easier than you think. Joe gets suspended and as in the book, this is a joke as this does not give Joe a chance to have his case heard by anyone else.

Wacey will offer up the Kissinger house for the Picketts to stay at. If you are asking, no I did not forget that Wacey threatened Sheridan that he knows about her animals in the woodpile. He does threaten her that he will kill her family not just her if she tells anyone about them. She is scared to say the least. She has nightmares which are understandable. If any person were threatened like she was, no matter your age, you would be scared not for yourself, but those you care about. Missy, Marybeth’s mother, is a user, and she believes that it is her right to live in luxury. She takes the most expensive wine while she is a guest in the Kissinger house.

Joe Pickett will go up to the mountain to find out with Nate the proof he needed to prove that the Miller’s Weasels do exist. He does this after MaryBeth Pickett told him what he was feeling was b******t. She told him, you cannot believe that. She told him to keep fighting the good fight. This is what Joe is doing. He goes up the mountain which is narrow, and that is not an easy thing for the horse to navigate. That is accurate to the book. The change with Nate works in the show as it made it, so Joe did not have to do this alone. Nate tells Joe, the uniform does not make the man, the man makes the uniform. If you are not a man of character, the uniform means nothing, unless you are a person of character to begin with. Joe will figure out with the pictures from Clive Lidgard that Wacey is the killer and that this conspiracy to cover this has a bunch of actors involved.

Sheridan and Marybeth Pickett will go back to their house as Sheridan tells her mother that she needs to get her book for a class she needs to finish a school assignment. This will lead to Marybeth being shot by Wacey and she tells Sheridan to run after that happens. Wacey will be upset with her claiming it was her fault, when he was the idiot that shot her in the first place. Marybeth Pickett will later escape and must crash a car in a shed to get someone to call 911. She is taken to Billings, MT as that has a hospital that can treat her. As a result, she loses the baby.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of season 1 and set up season 2.

I will give you, my rating. I give Joe Pickett Season 1, a 10 out of 10. It was fun but helps the viewer to understand how bad greed is. The other players in this story are the Scarletts as they are corrupt rich people that want to get richer, and like Vern Dunnegan and Wacey do not care who they hurt if they get what they want. Jennie Keely does leave April as she was desperate, and she would be on the run, and feared for her life as well as April’s. What happens speaking of April? Please leave your answer in the comment section below. There are changes to the original book of Open Season, but they work as the story flowed well and the essence of the original story remains in this season. Does Sheridan survive? Please leave your answer in the comment section below. The reason I mentioned greed before, you can watch the Dopesick series reviews which was the first thing I reviewed for my channel. You can click on this link to the playlist of the Dopesick series reviews. I said in one of those reviews that greed is the worst sin, and that like Sacklers, the people such as Vern Dunnegan, Wacey, and the Scarlets do not care about who they hurt, if they got their pipeline so they could all become rich and in Wacey’s case to become Sheriff. This is a dangerous thing as this story proves. Wacey wanting to being Sheriff and doing whatever it took to be Sheriff is very similar to Sebastin Blood in Season 2 of Arrow when he was willing to do whatever it took to become Mayor when he decided to work with Slade Wilson and not fully understanding what Slade wanted to do. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing Secret Invasion Season 1 that is currently on Disney+ done by Marvel Studios. I will be going over several topics in this episode. The first season will deal with the Skrulls wanting Earth as their own. They want to be able to live in their skin as Gaia tells the audience, and this is Gravik’s plan. It will force Nick Fury to come back as he will feel responsible for what is happening in this first season of this series of Secret Invasion. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

Rest of the Review and Rating of Secret Invasion

As was mentioned before, Secret Invasion will deal with Skrulls wanting Earth as their own. Gravitk’s plan is to have humans destroy each other. He is hoping to put fuel to the fire in hopes it will cause humans to destroy to each other. He will have this be the case.

The series will begin with Everett Ross talking to Prescott and Prescott, saying that Skrulls are planning to take Earth as their own. Everett Ross tells Prescott that does not make sense as Talos is on our side. Prescott says that this happened 30 years ago when Nick Fury and Carol Danvers brought Skrulls to Earth. The Skrulls were brought to Earth because as was mentioned that the Cree were going to destroy them if they did not come to the Earth. This reference can be found in Captain Marvel. Prescott will be killed by Everett Ross, but he is not Everett Ross, he is a Skrull as Talos will chase him and he will jump off the building and die by the impact of the ground. Talos tells Maria Hill that he is not on my side; he is on the side of the extreme faction of Skrulls who are led by Gravik.

The season will have attacks in Russia as in hopes it will cause humans to start World War III. This is the Skrulls ultimate plan. They will get dirty bombs as was shown in the first episode of this season. Gaia acquires it for them. She tells her father Talos that you could not protect Mom. Talos tells her that Gravik killed your mother. He is the reason your mother is dead. You need to confront him.

Gaia will come to her senses and realize she needs to help her father. She will remain a spy so she will know Gravik’s plans and hope to stop him. She lets her father know that Gravik will have several bags marked with the bomb. She lets him know that Gravik will know that you are there.

Talos, Nick Fury, Maria Hill will be in Moscow, and this is where it goes South. They try to stop them, but Maria Hill gets shot by Gravik posing to be Nick Fury, and she will die as a result. Gravik will set off the bomb and have it been blamed by the Americans setting fuel to the fire in hopes of getting this to spread. He wants to set off World War III by having humans exterminate each other.

Nick Fury will later meet with Colonial Rhodes in the second episode of this season. He will talk about what do you know about your security team. Rhodes will say, what do I know about them? Nick Fury will be fired by him, and he tells Colonial Rhodes, I am Nick Fury, even when I am out, I am in. This will imply to the viewer and to Colonial Rhodes that Nick Fury is not someone to be messed with. The security guard tries to escort him out, and Nick Fury breaks his arm. He walks out, but this will not deter him.

It is important not to forget Sonya is important as she and Nick Fury have worked together before. She is British and works for the British Intelligence. She is smart and knows how to get information when she needs it. She cut the finger of one of the Skrulls and it showed the true skin when injured. This makes sense as they cannot hold that shape if the cells have been damaged. One of them told her what she needed to know about the plan to set off a Nuke.

As Prescott would have said, they are having these attacks look like any terrorist organization, but that is their plan. They want it to be like business as usual. Gravik wants to create chaos and in that chaos, he wants to pit the humans against each other. He is made General by the Skrull council, and he will instill the plan that he has for Earth.

The compound in Russia is where the Skrulls are hiding, and they are calling it New Skrullias. This is where the Skrulls are hiding and where they have their human hostages that they have been keeping there. It is where they have been taking their place amongst humans and using what these people know so they can pit humans against each other. They can read human minds and take what they know and be able to answer the questions that a person knows. This makes it dangerous as you would not be able to trick them into answering a question only that person knows.

In the third episode, Talos will meet with Gravik and warn him that we need to be incredibly careful. He tells him that you do not want to give humans a common enemy. They will unite when they know they have a common enemy to fight. Talos wants his people to survive, and he is hoping that Gravik will see reason as this is not the way to get what they want. Gravik will threaten Talos that he will kill Gaia. Talos will stab a fork in his hand, and it will heal because he took the Extremis formula which is an Easter Egg from Iron Man 3.

Gaia will later in this episode help Talos stop a Nuke that Bob was setting up to be sent to set fuel to the fire. Talos was with Nick Fury, and Nick Fury asked him to take Bob’s shape and stop the Nuke. As Talos tells Nick Fury that the only way to do that is for me to know the code, but only Bob knows it. Talos kills Bob after Bob threatens him with Gaia being a spy. Gaia goes down to the compound to help Talos and Nick Fury stop the Nuke before it can be sent. Gaia will later encounter Gravik and she will be shot and appear to be dead.

In the fourth episode, Gaia survives the shot to her body thanks to the fact that she took the Extremis formula. It allowed her not to die, and she later goes to her father Talos. Talos tells her that we need to show humans who we are by doing the right thing. She thinks that he is ridiculous as she tells her father Talos that Gravik’s plan works with the Skrulls that are following him.

Nick Fury encounters Colonial Rhodes after he found out that his wife Priscilla was supposed to kill Nick Fury. She refuses, and they both shoot the wall instead. Colonial Rhodes met with his wife Priscilla who is a Skrull in a church and told her to kill Nick Fury. Nick Fury had a listening device on one of them and found out that Colonial Rhodes is a skrull. This means the real Colonial Rhodes is in that compound being kept alive attached to the machine that Carol Danvers was attached to in the movie Captain Marvel. He warns Colonial Rhodes that there is a skrull amongst the President and he is closer than you might think.

The attack on the President happens and this will cause Nick Fury and Talos to go to action. Talos will get wounded, and Gravik is bringing him posing to be the President’s protection. He kills Talos. Nick Fury shoots Gravik and he just absorbs the bullet.

In the fifth episode of this season, Gaia will encounter Nick Fury and tell him that her father Talos died for nothing. As Nick Fury tells her while he is in a safe house, that your father did not die for anything. He chose to stick with the struggle. That is not easy, but it is necessary. Fighting into the struggle does not mean you win every time, but you keep on fighting. That is a lesson worth learning. This is after Nick Fury must escape the hospital where President Ritson is after the fake Colonial Rhodes is framing him for killing Maria Hill. He will release the video over the airways. It was Gravik that killed Maria Hill.

Gaia will tell Nick Fury that Gravik is looking for the Harvest. Nick Fury knows what this means that Gravik is looking for the blood of every superhero during the battle with Thanos during Avengers: End Game. Gravik wants to instill their DNA into him, so that he can become Super. That is the plan in case he must fight the Avengers himself.

Nick Fury goes to a Cemetery in Finland to find the place where he knew put the Harvest. It requires him to breathe on it; in the video I make an error that it requires an eye scan (the breath was necessary so that a skrull would not be able to replicate his DNA) that can only be opened by Nick Fury. Nick Fury is with Sonya, and this is after Sonya found out her boss was a skrull after she shot him. She later takes his place in running the British Intelligence. This proves to the viewer that she is smart and knows when to sniff out the trash. Nick Fury will tell her that Colonial Rhodes is a skrull. She was not aware of that. Nick Fury reminds Sonya; you thought I lost my touch. This proves that I have not lost my touch.

In the sixth episode, Nick Fury will go to the skrull compound in Russia. This is where the conclusion will happen. In the sixth episode, Nick Fury gives Gravik the Harvest. Nick Fury will tell him; I am sorry for letting you down. I should have been there for you; and not let you down. Gravik will test the Harvest, and knows the formula is pure. He puts it in the machine, and both he and Nick Fury have been exposed to the effects of the formula.

This is where the viewer will see the names of Drax, Gamora, and Mantis come up. As the viewer finds out when Nick Fury starts to fight Gravik, it is not Nick Fury but Gaia in disguise. She will fight Gravik and they both light up like Captain Marvel. Gaia will have the Mantis ears come out, and she will use that power to make Gravik fall asleep. Mantis can tell people to sleep.

The final episode will have twists and turns, but it will not be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this season and set up more stories to be told in MCU.

I will now give you, my rating. I give Secret Invasion Season 1, a 10 out of 10. It was fun but helped to expand on the MCU. The series was psychological and felt like a spy thriller. This is a good change for the MCU. Marvel needed to do this as it could use a different approach. A spy thriller is always a fun idea to read, or watch. The complexity of the series is what made it so good. It is relevant to what it feels like is going on in the world. People will act on fear as the last episode of Season 1 will show. Instead of trying to act on a different approach, it unfortunately is a human response to problems. This is Samuel L. Jackson’s best performance in a long time. He really did an excellent job in portraying Nick Fury’s fear, but his determination to stay with the struggle as he told Gaia. It will set up new alliances, and it will help the viewer to know how long it took the skrulls to implement their plan. Personally, I would like to see season 2 of this series, but who knows? I will go over several topics in this review. Season 2 will begin with Marco in the theater escaping the fire and then going to Lucia. He will tell her that he saw Laura’s bracelet on her and that he wants to see it. Lucia will tell him; you were not supposed to see that bracelet. She will show Marco the bracelet and tell him to forget everything and go home. He does not and takes it, and it allows him to travel in time. I will give you my rating at the end of the review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

Rest of review and rating for Intertwined Season 2

As was mentioned in this review, Marco did escape from the theater and ends up going to Lucia and finding out about the bracelet and takes it and goes to 2021. As the first season ended, Marco showed up at the end of Light Years but also called Anos Luz which is Spanish for Light Years. It was on good assumption; I believed this show to take place in South America, and I was right. It takes place in Argentina. Marco finds Laura at the theater, as he believes that to be her name. Laura tells him that her name is Allegra. She later tells Marco that Caterina is her mother.

Marco will get a haircut and wear it a lot shorter than he did in 1994. This is important, so that he can blend in. It will help him so that those who knew him will not recognize him. It will help with Caterina, Coco, and Diego in 2021. Felix will show Marco that there is a tombstone showing him that people thought he died in that fire in 1994. It shows his birth year 1976 and the year people believed he was dead in 1994.

Felix later has Marco run into his father Franco Resko, and this will cause Marco to travel in time to 1975 and will discover his father Franco Resko at his age with Amelia Sharpe who is Coco. Ameila Sharpe is Coco’s real name before she changed it.

Allegra is mad at Felix for bringing Marco’s dad Franco Resko, but as Felix points out that you yourself should know that the bracelet will cause you to travel in time and that you have no control over it. Felix is right, and whoever wears the bracelet will travel in time, and does not know when it will happen.

Marco meets his father at his age, as well as Amelia (Coco) Sharpe, and his mother. He did not know at first that it is his mother. His father, Coco, and his mother were all friends before they had a falling out. As Marco can see that his father had a desire in music, and that he was hoping to open a theater in Argentina. His father is running his father’s club, and he needs to prove to his father that this music act of theirs will work. Marco sings with Ameila (Coco) Sharpe, and this causes his father to have an idea that this club can be successful if both sing together. The song they are singing is Summer Loving. It has been sung many times as it was sung in the first of the season of The Flash. Caitlin and Barry sang it when they were doing Karaoke in a bar.

Marco will return to 2021, and he will run into Allegra and Felix and tell them that he went to 1975 not 1994 as Allegra would have thought. This makes sense as people in the present have not seen Marco since 1994. He had to travel to 2021 and 1975. His father had not seen him since the theater fire that night. He tells them that Coco and his father knew each other, and they were involved in a relationship. Felix teases Marco and Allegra that you could be like Luke and Leia in Star Wars that you are related to.

This will keep happening with Marco travel back to 1975 and 2021. He will bump into his mother, and she tells him her name is Paloma. Marco realizes that it is his mother’s name and that this is his mother’s name. She has dark her, and his mother Paloma is attractive, and she tells Marco’s father Franco that she loves him.

Marco tells Allegra that his mother told his father that she loved him. Marco tells Allegra that he believes that he can be together. This is Marco and Allegra’s hope that they can.

Felix will tell Marco what the purple in the bracelet means. Those who had green like Allegra would end up back in their own time. Those who had purple did not end back in their original time; this means that Marco must figure out what his mission is. As Felix tells him, he must do so in 12 days (about 1 week and 5 days). Felix is mad at Marco as he feels that he is stealing Allegra from him. He was helping him in hopes he would go back to his own time. This is understandable. There will be those who would feel that he is an intruder and would hope he goes back to his own time.

Marco will learn about Coco’s relationship with Pedro. It is not a romantic relationship, but a business relationship. It is where Pedro helps to break her into the theater business. They will both create Coco’s theater company at 11:00. It will help the viewer to understand how she became who she was, and that her grandmother Allegra encouraged her to do this and not put her career on hold. Women have been doing this for years, but she listens to her grandmother, and her mother encourages her to do this as well.

Coco gets blamed for the fire at the theater that happened in 1994. She was getting set up by someone who had it out for her. It is too convenient for that to happen. As Mike would say, “Coco would never allow herself to get caught on camera with that watch”. This means it is someone who has it out for Coco.

Marco will find out who set the fire. This will not be mentioned here.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this season and set up a possible Season 3.

I will give you, my rating. I give Intertwined Season 2, a 10 out of 10. It was fun and helped to build off the continuing story left from Season 1. It helps the viewer understand what happened, and answers questions about Marco’s disappearance. It was believed that he died in the fire, but he did not. The end of Season 1 would show that. Marco will discover that his father loved music, and that his mother Paloma loved to sing only in front of Marco’s father. She was embarrassed to sing in front of people. It will help her son Marco encourage her to do so. She does not know that he is her son as he keeps that secret. There is a new character that appears in this series in 2021, and her name is Clara. Clara gets herself cast in Light Years, and she is a mystery. There is no backstory, and the viewer does not know where she came from. This is good as it will open more stories to be told in a possible Season 3. Personally, it will be great to know more about Clara. There is a fascination with not knowing who someone is and finding out who that person is. The jealousy of Felix with Marco creates the right tension, and it is understandable why Felix feels that way. Any person who has feelings like Felix would feel that way. It is natural for a person to feel that way. Who knows when there will be season 3, since there is a writer’s and actor’s strike in Hollywood, but hopefully Hollywood can get their act together and the studios realize they will lose a lot of money, if they do not. Things like books, movies, and TV shows help people to be more human. Art humanizes people. Sports teaches teamwork, but it does not humanize people. It tends to make people more aggressive to each other. Art like books, movies, TV Shows, even live theaters have lessons to teach people; and those lessons are important to learn.

Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritc. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny that is currently in theaters. I will go over several topics in this review. The movie will start off with Indiana Jones back in the 1940’s fighting the Nazis trying to stop them from acquiring a piece of archaeology that will make them invincible. It will lead to an epic battle for this device which most of the movie will take place in 1969. I will give you my rating at the end of this review. I will also let you know how I rate each movie in the franchise from first to last at the end of this review.

Rest of Review and Rating for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Spoiler Warning: This review may contain spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled, do not continue, but if you do not care, then continue. Thank you.

This movie starts off with the Disney symbol with Lucasfilm and the Paramount symbol as well. To be honest, I was not sure if they would have the Paramount symbol, but it is good that they did. The first four movies were done with Paramount, and it only makes sense that this one should be as well.

As was mentioned before, Indiana Jones stole the dial of destiny from the Nazis, and later has it taken back to the college he teaches at to keep it safe. Indiana Jones wakes up in 1969 in his underwear watching TV. He is a shell of his former shelf. He does not look like that Indiana Jones of the past. This makes sense as he has gotten older. He is probably in his 70’s. To point out this fact, in 1912 in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, he was probably between 14 and 16 when he was stealing the cross of Coronado from the people that were going to keep it for themselves.

Indiana Jones bangs on the door with the baseball bat telling one of his neighbors that this is a workday. The guy tells him it is 8:00 AM and that it is not that early in the morning. Indiana tells him, it is a workday, but as he points it out, so what? There are Easter Eggs in Indiana Jones’ apartment as it has the picture of Jesus on the cross that his father had when they were looking for the holy grail. That is one obvious Easter Egg that was in this movie.

Indiana Jones later gets visited by Helena that wants to find the dial of destiny. According to Helena that this dial was created by Archimedes and that it can travel in time. Her father wanted Indiana Jones to destroy it, but he did not. Could the device be destroyed? That is the big question. Who knows at this point?

Indiana Jones later has colleagues get killed by the Nazis who were posing as FBI agents trying to get their hands on the dial of destiny. He later gets framed for their deaths. This is very similar to when Harrison Ford starred in the Fugitive when he got framed for killing his wife in that movie. Ironically, the Fugitive is 30 years old. That movie came out in 1993. It is hard to believe that the movie is 30 years old.

The scene where Indiana Jones escapes with the horse in the Subway in NYC is funny as you would not expect a horse to go in a Subway and run on the train tracks like it did. It made sense as it is the only way he could escape from the Nazis that were posing as FBI agents trying to get the dial of destiny. Helena stole it as she was taking it to be sold at a black-market auction. The device was split in two and you had to find the other half and put it back together for it to work.

The movie will have a map that is unique to Indiana Jones. The map they use so that you can know where he goes on his adventures to find the pieces he is looking for. This was good that this was there, so the viewer got the experience he or she was looking for.

The movie will take the viewer through epic chase sequences as Helena with her partner whose name is Teddy and Indiana Jones are trying to get the piece back from the Nazis that stole it so they can use it to back in time. The one called Dr. Voller wants to use it to go back to 1939, so that he can kill Hitler and become Fuher instead. He wants to be the one to call the shots instead of Hitler. Indiana asks if he was still a Nazi, the answer was yes.

The movie will have the feel of the archaeological adventure that the viewer expects to see unlike what happened in the Kingdom of Crystal Skull. This makes sense that viewers are hesitant to see this movie because of the Kingdom of Crystal Skull but give this movie a chance. This movie will redeem the Kingdom of Crystal Skull and will have the feeling that was mentioned in this review.

This movie will end up in Syracuse, Sicily where the other half is. There is a scene on the water where there are eels in the water. Teddy was saying, eels are like snakes. This was going to his fear of Snakes, which is classic since the first movie of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this movie. It will not set up another movie in the franchise.

I will give you, my rating. I give Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny a 10 out 10. It was fun and it ended the way the viewer would have liked. The movie will be the fun adventure that you would expect it to be. Indiana will retire from his job as a college professor and archeologist. He is in his 70’s and this makes sense for him to retire. A person gets to that point, where they say they have done enough, and you do not want to work forever. Sometimes, it is good for there to be fresh blood. Of course, it does mean a person cannot, but we all reach the end eventually. What rating do you give this movie? Please leave your answer in the comment section below.

As how I would the rate the Indiana Jones movies. The first top three films are Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Last Crusade, and the Dial of Destiny. These top three films are a tie for me. I cannot say I like one better than the other in this rating. The Last Crusade is on this list because I like the Search for the cup of Christ, and it has the feel that the viewer is looking for. The fourth film is the Temple of Doom, the content is good, but the gruesomeness of the film is what I do not find appealing. The content is good, and it still deals with archaeology. The last film is the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, because it went too much with science fiction and it did not feel like the archaeological adventure that the viewer would expect it to be.
