Last week on FACTS, we looked at the dilemma surrounding the Gospel of Matthew. We established that there was likely a Hebrew account that circulated first, and later, a Greek account was published while Peter and Paul were evangelizing in Rome. This week, we will examine the internal evidence for the Gospel of Matthew. Is it possible that a Hebrew tax collector wrote this account? Were the Fathers correct when citing that a Hebrew (or Aramaic) edition circulated in its earliest transmission? We will answers these questions in this segment.
