The sounds of cooking bratwurst over the campfire at Lake Shetek State Park

Recorded while after dark while sitting around the campfire at Lake Shetek State Park in the fall weather.  The coyotes, bugs, and geese were pretty active as well as some noise from the nearby highway.

Recorded at the Cramer Aid Station for the Superior Trail Races.  This is a 100 mile, 50 mile, and Marathon run on the superior hiking trail.

To make us feel better about ourselves this week we will go with a successful train recording.  This was recorded next to the tracks of the Staples Subdivision in Ramsey, MN.  There was a light rain falling which can be heard on the ground and hitting the box I used to cover the recorder.  While this was recording I ate my lunch inside my car from the nearby Aurelios Pizza.

This is the second in a two part series called Failed Train Recordings.  There are some very active railroad tracks near Prarie Du Chien, Wisconsin which I wanted to record a train going by.  I set up next to the tracks at Wyalusing Beach and waited for a train.  There was one that could be heard to the south but it seemed to be stopped so all I got was the distant train horn and some other sounds of the area.  After waiting for about an hour we drove south and found the train moving north a few miles down the line.  Bad timing!
