Maud Kells was born in Northern Ireland and grew up on a farm where church was more of a tradition than a heartfelt commitment. After coming to faith in Christ, she shocked her parents by announcing her call to the mission field.
When it came time for her placement, Maud asked to go to one of the most dangerous and unstable countries in the world — the Democratic Republic of Congo. Despite facing rebel attacks, robberies, and primitive conditions, Maud flourished among the Congolese people she came to love so deeply.
