In this episode we discuss our impressions of Cooper Flagg, Ryan Nembhard, and Miles Kelly from NBA Summer League.

We talk about how well Cooper has handled the aggressive defensive pressure, along with how he impressively bounced back from a lackluster Summer League debut for a 31-point performance against the Spurs in the second game. We talk about how he’s an ideal fit for Jason Kidd’s transition offense, and how his skill of drawing fouls will help him make an even greater impact in the NBA.

We then talk about how while Nembhard and Kelly have had up-and-down performances in Summer League, they both have demonstrated skills valuable in the NBA.

Finally, we discuss Mark Cuban’s interview with Sirius XM Radio at Summer League and why the Mavs’ victory lap after winning the Draft Lottery has been very annoying.

In this episode, we are joined by Mohamed, an NBA draft and analytics expert to preview the Mavs Summer League team. We discuss the personnel on the team, namely Cooper Flagg & Ryan Nembhard, but also guys like Miles Kelley and what we should be looking for with him. We also talk about the top-4 players slated to be in the 2026 NBA Draft, the last draft for the next few years that the Mavs have a pick. Finally, we discuss the additions the Mavs have made this offseason and talk about what kind of impact they can have on the season.

In this episode we share our thoughts from Cooper Flagg’s introductory press conference with the Dallas media, which we were there to cover. We talk about our first impressions of him as well as some interesting quotes from the event. One thing we focused on was Jason Kidd’s statement that he wants Cooper to play point guard next season and how that is a good sign for his development.

We then talk about the implications of recent contract extensions signed by Kyrie Irving and Daniel Gafford and how that sets the Mavericks up for this offseason. We discuss their reported interest in D’Angelo Russell and whether that would be a wise move.

Finally, we discuss our thoughts on the Mavericks’ undrafted free agent signings of Ryan Nembhard from Gonzaga and Miles Kelly from Auburn. We agree that while neither of them will likely make an impact on the team next season, the Mavs Summer League team should be a fun watch.

In this episode we talk about the Mavs’ need for more ball handling and shooting. We discuss specifically the merits of signing Dante Exum, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Malcolm Brogdon to a minimum contract. We also debate whether it would be worth it for the Mavs to target shooting specialists who may not be the strongest defenders.

We then talk about what a second championship ring for Rick Carlisle would mean for his legacy, if his Indiana Pacers are able to win one of the hardest championships, arguably since Carlisle did it with the Mavs in 2011.

In this episode we discuss the state of the Mavs with less than a week until the 2025 NBA Draft, where they will select Cooper Flagg #1 overall.

We react to the shocking news of the Buss Family selling a majority stake of the Los Angeles Lakers, something no one thought would happen. Despite the sale, former Lakers owner Jeanie Buss will remain in her role as Governor for the time being. We discuss how this casts more doubt and suspicion on the manner in which Mark Cuban sold his majority stake in the Mavericks back in November 2023.

We then briefly talk about Cooper Flagg’s recent visit with the Mavericks in Dallas and how he is a player the Mavs have never seen before.

The offseason only begins from there. We talk about the possibility of the Mavericks executing a trade to get back into the late 1st round of the Draft, to select a guard like Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr. While Clayton Jr. is an older prospect, he was one of the best players in the nation this past season, and his profile shares similarities with that of Jalen Brunson in 2018, a 21-year old who had just won College Player of the Year, but who fell to the 2nd round in large part due to his age. Could the Mavericks make a deal with a team like the Brooklyn Nets or Oklahoma City Thunder, that have multiple picks in the back half of the 1st round? We will find out soon enough.
