By all accounts, 2021 was a pretty crazy year. Although just because things are happening around doesn't mean they have to control your destiny.
But you still need to understand what is happening in the world around you that could affect your business so that you can make smarter decisions.
In this episode, I welcomed Melissa Simonson to have an interesting discussion on what happened in 2021 for ecommerce/Amazon sellers.
And we pulled out our crystal ball to make our predictions on how things will go in 2022….

In this episode, we are going to go in a different direction. It seems as people become bigger sellers or one day sell their businesses, they often look for other places to park their money.
Personally, I've always been curious about real estate investing, and so we can all learn together. I brought on a good friend of mine from elementary school to talk about real estate investing.
He has developed quite the portfolio of properties with single family, multifamily apartments, and AirBNB.
If you've been curious about investing in real estate, you'll definitely want to check out this episode.

Cash is the lifeblood of a business, and I have found that you never truly understand all that goes into managing the cash of a business until you are in the thick of it. Especially in the holiday season, cash can be a constraint with the need to buy holiday stock levels, supply chain issues, needing to reload before Chinese New Year, and then tax season…
There are lots of ways to fund growth and keeping the engine of your business humming along. In this episode, I brought on Jacob Schwartz from Payability to discuss some options they offer.
Disclosure: Payability has been a sponsor of events that I have hosted, and their products have helped a lot of sellers.
With that said, I strongly recommend making sure that you fully understand the terms of any financial arrangement before signing on the dotted line and accepting any money.
As the business owner, always exercise good judgement, and I hope you find this episode helpful...

Overtime, many sellers find that catalog management on Amazon is one of the most underrated topics in this business. What is in some of the fields (that you might not even know about) can have a huge effect on how the algorithm understands your listing. This in turn can have a major effect on your ranking, and can make a difference if Amazon suspends a listing because the algorithm suddenly thinks the product is in a category with heightened compliance requirements.
And as you grow, it can become tedious making changes to listings in Manage Inventory when bulk sheets can make the process quicker (once you know how to use them).
That is why I am excited to bring on Vanessa Hung to talk about how you can keep a clean catalog and some tips for using bulk files.

Amazon is a constantly changing platform, and it is important to understand how their changes affect you as a seller. And when running PPC campaigns, it is critical to know how to balance fundamentals and understanding what is happening on the platform around you.
That is why I am excited to bring on Liran Hirschkorn from Incrementum Digital. Whenever I speak with Liran, I always learn something new, and my hope is that you get a lot out of our conversation.

When we think of sourcing products, China generally comes to mind or possibly made in the USA. However, there is a whole world out there with many options for manufacturing your products.
India can be a potential option worth looking into, and I am excited to bring on Meghla Bhardwaj from India Sourcing Network to discuss options for sourcing from India.

An admin on Amazon's official forum on Seller Central recently released a post about rebates and other incentives off Amazon.
There has been a lot of talk in the seller community since…
Is this the end of the world? (spoiler alert: NO)
In this episode, I share my thoughts on this change/clarification and what to think about this moving forward...

We all talk about sales, but what is even more important is how much money you have leftover…. aka profit.
That is why I am excited to bring on Sam Hill who specializes in finances for ecommerce store owners. Sam will walk through ways of better understanding finances and help you find ways to drive more profit to your bottom line.

One day you will no longer be operating your business, and it is best to make sure you are set up to exit on your own terms. Or at least get the best possible value.
Most of my understanding of the buy/sell process has come from speaking to people who have bought and sold individual businesses and from brokers.
In this episode, I speak with Jeremy Bell, the head of Mergers and Acquisition at Elevate Brands. His company purchases Amazon businesses as part of the "aggregator" model, and it was interesting to get his perspective on the buy/sell process.
If you'd like to learn more about what potential buyers are looking for (especially those with deep pockets), you will definitely want to check out this episode.
