Today we head back into Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe with AMC’s new supernatural horror series, Mayfair Witches. If you think you're going to hear a bunch about spell casting and black cauldrons, think again. This modern adaptation of Rice's classic story is less Harry Potter and more Dangerous Liaisons. 
The first episode, which aired Sunday night, is titled “The Witching Hour." It runs 52 minutes, stars Alexandra Daddario in the lead role, and was created by Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding. 
Having not read the books, we avoid future spoilers and judge our rating strictly on whether or not the pilot made for good television. Tune in and enjoy!
